I have 10 stone to lose overall. There, I said it. No going back now. I miss riding my horse, I miss being happy and I have a toddler that doesn't want a sweaty elephant for a mum.
Anyone want to join me for some moral support?

I had a sneaky peek at my weight today. I'm on my period so I always weigh a couple more pounds but I've lost 7lb!

Arkkorox · 09/01/2016 21:13

Wooohoooo! Well done!

Wow, Fatty! Well done!! Star
I've done 2 hours solid work at the gym this evening. Mostly cardio, clocking up 400cals usage plus weights and toning stuff.

stopfaffing · 10/01/2016 08:27

I'm enjoying my stay a hotel, yesterday did my 2nd Cto5K at the hotel gym, found it more of a challenge on the treadmill, mainly I think because when I was walking/jogging on the street I could slow down if I got tired. On a treadmill I couldn't because I'd already set the pace iyswim. Had a wonderful swim at the rooftop spa pool afterwards, using the massive waterless to massage my shoulders, and laying on the bubbling recliners Smile. Later still, lots of complementary buffet food and drinks at the club lounge. I had one g and t (usually three Grin) and had enough of the food to satisfy my appetite (not more than I needed because it was so delicious). Breakfast buffet to come later this morning. Looking forward to weigh in tomorrow morning. Scales are set up in conservatory. I am more interested in reducing my fat percentage, 60% is shocking Shock, that is what the scales seemed to show last week. Will see what they say tomorrow. May be to early for any adjustment though.

onitlikeacarbonnet · 10/01/2016 10:10

I'm supposed to be low gi-ing. I'm using mfp to see if that helps, and trying to stay under my calories as a bonus, which I've done every day. I have drunk loads more water than usual and nothing else but decaf tea or coffee has passed my lips. No sugar either just crappy tasting sweetener (which I'm allowed on low gi).
I'm not getting much exercise and haven't hit 10,000 steps any day this week though got close a couple of days.
I'm not looking forward to weigh in tomorrow. New scales have had a few tries and it's been pretty shit seeing my weight go up when I've been so good Sad
But, it's a journey And a long one at that (certainly in my case. I'll be last woman standing Grin)

Here's to a good Sunday for all and a good sleep tonight before the weigh in. Good luck everyone Smile

LentilStew · 10/01/2016 10:11

Just weighed in: 5lbs off for the week! Yay!

SaoirseLikeInertia · 10/01/2016 10:38

well done LentilStew Star Star Star Star Star

Have a good Sunday y'all!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 10/01/2016 11:07

Well done lentil, that's great news.

Stopfaffing, spa sounds lovely, very envious

onitlikeacarbonnet · 10/01/2016 11:07

Well done lentil!!'

LentilStew · 10/01/2016 11:20

Thanks all. Yes, spa sounds wonderful. I'd need to go by myself though as we have never had any childcare. Maybe I can plan a girls weekend away but it would need to be much later in the year as they're all slim and glam despite having 3 or 4 babies.

ToeTouching · 10/01/2016 11:35

Great to hear how well you're all doing.

Just got in from my 4th c25k run - but only 2nd time completing it so one more to go before moving to week 2.

I can't believe how much improvement there is yet again. I completed the same distance today as I did on Friday but 10 mins quicker and that included an extra 5 min walk to get back home after the podcast had ended.

I was pondering as I ran that I've spent years training my brain and now I have to do the same with my body.

One day I will be one of those slim, lycra clad runners making it look so effortless (not a shapeless sack of spuds all red faced and sweaty Grin).

Keep going fellow losers - looking forward to tomorrow's weigh in!

Iammostseriouslydispleased · 10/01/2016 13:08

I went back to my female only 30 min exercise gym after a few months and it does feel good - I always forget that!

I weighed myself on the weigh out - this counts as my Monday weigh in a bit early 14 st 10!! It was seeing 15 stone 3 on the weighing scales a few months ago that finally did it for me. Another four pounds and I will no longer be classed as obese.

Very pleased as I had bit of a crash Friday with wine and ice cream and cake. But when I think how closer to that I used to be eating every day. It is still better... I am having a fast day again today and then the new week will start.

Well done everyone! Has anyone else googled to see what a pound of fat actually looks like?! Good reinforcement!

LentilStew · 10/01/2016 15:01

Oh goodness! I just googled 5lbs of fat. It's hideously disgusting. That's all I needed to keep going!

Brokenbiscuit · 10/01/2016 17:07

I'm doing ok so far. Doing 5:2 so have allowed myself some treats over the weekend, but still trying to eat sensibly. I'm also trying to move more - played table tennis for an hour with dd this afternoon and am surprised at how tiring it was! Fun though! :)

FiveGoMadInDorset · 10/01/2016 18:14

All good news, well done everyone. Well I'm one point under for the day despite two largeish glasses of wine, a roast and a large frittata this morning plus snacks. Official weigh in is not until next Friday but may have a sneaky peak tomorrow

limetimemummy · 10/01/2016 21:07

ahem.. Day 7 in the Mumsnet Losers house
Lots of great and positive posts being recorded detailing some great starts to the Losers' stay but what will the weekly total be come weigh in tomorrow?
Limetime has successfully managed to stay away from the diet coke as a main source of hydration but was shocked to actually see how much 2 litres of water actually is. She has also consumed more veggies this week than in all of November and December combined.
Limetime has also not made a single visit to Maccie D's, a huge improvement considering that it was every morning on the way to work
The cheese battle is still ongoing although Limetime can report a vast reduction in both frequency and quantity
The cross trainer remains an expensive clothes rail
This weeks challenge is to prep and take healthy lunches to the office

The scales will reveal all, but remember fellow Losers, it is a marathon not a sprint and for those of us old enough, that isn't a chocolate reference

Iammostseriouslydispleased · 10/01/2016 21:17

Limetime, my exercise bike is also an expensive end of bed adornment. Let's make them feel wanted.

Had one can of diet coke over the weekend. Reading a scary article about diet low sugar drinks earlier this weekend helped!

Brokenbiscuit · 10/01/2016 21:54

Is it sad that I'm actually looking forward to weigh-in day tomorrow morning? Confused

I know that the number will still be horrendous, but I'm pretty confident that it will be ever so slightly less horrendous! And moving in the right direction.

I feel like this isn't so much a diet but rather a re-education about what normal people eat. Like having one biscuit instead of 2 or 3. Like cooking with a bit less oil. Like having a bit less rice or pasta with my dinner. I haven't felt deprived, really - if anything, I think I've been enjoying my food more!

limetimemummy · 10/01/2016 22:10

its not sad Broken, very normal to want to see the results of your work Smile
I'm with you in this being a re-education of my eating habits rather than complete denial. I'm hoping that this will be the thing that finally gets me to a sensible weight rather than completely eliminating foods for a "diet" as that hasn't worked in the past at all although for now, maccie Ds breakfasts are strictly off limits

LentilStew · 10/01/2016 22:36

I ran out of bottled water on Friday and I can't bring myself to drink tap water even though it tastes ok here compared to where I grew up. Anyway, as I'd run out of water I poured a small glass of diet Pepsi and it tasted so yucky I couldn't finish it. I'm hoping that's my fizzy drinks addiction broken but I don't want to temp fate. But right now I'm drinking lots of water with some tea and one cup of choc Highlights a day. I shall weigh again tomorrow and report. I just couldn't wait. Smile

smellylittleorange · 10/01/2016 22:46

Well done all. I've been doing steps like crazy with my mind fit band...my legs are sore! Have set a target of 11000 but am exceeding that.it is hard to fit in at weekends though work day is easier as I have a 25min walk to and from train station (hence the higher step target). Looking forward to tomorrow's weigh in but hop my muscles are not sore and retaining water !

Breadandwine · 10/01/2016 23:26

Anyone here tried a water shandy?

I recently cut down my daily pre-dinner pint of stout and small glass of wine to a pint of stout shandy + the wine. Did that for a while, and found it very easy.

Even more recently, I've decided to only drink at w/ends, so I thought I would just have a glass of 'no added sugar' cloudy lemonade before dinner. But it was so sweet! So I had half and half water and lemonade - hence a 'water shandy'!

Much better! Grin

DramaAlpaca · 10/01/2016 23:29

Breadandwine I find lemonade etc too sweet as well, so I dilute it half & half with fizzy water. It's lovely.

lorneylou · 10/01/2016 23:32

Hi all. Just had a very quick catch up on the thread...great to see so many pounds coming off already!!

So, tomorrow is my starting day. I posted last week but have been away for a week attending a family funeral. A full week of takeaways, cups of tea and buns and cakes :( Just back home tonight and really ready for this, I feel like I'm rolling around and I am literally bursting out of everything.
Will weigh myself first thing in the morning and am going food shopping after I take DD to school. Absolutely nothing to eat in the house which is a good thing, all the christmas rubbish is gone!

Best of luck to you all at the start of another week, sending positive vibes your way Flowers

Quick question about the FB group, I did send a request to join last week but haven't heard anything back. Maybe I pm'd the wrong person...does anyone know who I have to contact?

MustBeThin · 10/01/2016 23:32

Lentil I bought two of those Brita Fill and Go bottles. Put your tap water in and it filters it as you drink. I've been trying to drink two a day and usually I never drink water.
