I have 10 stone to lose overall. There, I said it. No going back now. I miss riding my horse, I miss being happy and I have a toddler that doesn't want a sweaty elephant for a mum.
Anyone want to join me for some moral support?

I'm another who keeps missing the times when the FB page is open for new folk to be added...we could maybe do with some advanced warning of a 20 min "window" of it being open so that all who still want to join it get the chance to jump in - even if it's a 24 hrs advanced warning that would be good

onitlikeacarbonnet · 11/01/2016 07:13

Dodgy scales aside, I conservatively estimate that I've lost.....
9lbs!!!!
I'm so chuffed Grin
How's everyone else done???

FattyNinjaOwl · 11/01/2016 07:22

Still 7lb despite my failure yesterday. Grin

Callmesausage · 11/01/2016 07:29

8lbs down in first week. Best of luck all for weigh ins.

stopfaffing · 11/01/2016 07:33

10 lbs off! Delighted Grin. Great start for me.

Brokenbiscuit · 11/01/2016 07:34

I've lost 6lb altogether. :) Happy with that, even if most of it is retained water!

0ddsocks · 11/01/2016 08:02

4lbs down!! Been doing 5k cycling a day and MFP with 1600-1700 calories a day.

Plan to increase the cycling amount a little each week so eventually I can get to 10k a day.

ToeTouching · 11/01/2016 08:06

5lbs gone for me. Really pleased with that as a kick start - aiming for 1-2 lbs per week and an increase in exercising to let my skin shrink with me.

Time to start another week - good luck everyone.

tibni · 11/01/2016 08:25

1kg off for me, which is ok as this is the first week I've been eating having been ill over xmas and new year. I know I'd started considerably lighter than if I'd weighed mid December.
Well done all

EdithSimcox · 11/01/2016 09:06

2.6 kg lost in week 1. That's about 5 lbs. hoo-bloody-rah!

LoveableBatshitIdiot · 11/01/2016 09:09

Well done on the losses! 9lb here, and my first mini-goal of 12.13!

FattyNinjaOwl · 11/01/2016 09:26

Total weight loss (group) so far on fb is 9 and a half stone! I bet its even more than that with everyone here too.
Keep up the great work everyone Grin

SaoirseLikeInertia · 11/01/2016 09:33

Well done, you bunch of LOSERS

-7lbs here, very pleased

limetimemummy · 11/01/2016 09:39

4lb off for me, quite happy with that as a starter. Some brilliant losses being reported, well done everyone! Will fill the spreadsheet in later

fohamy12 · 11/01/2016 10:05

5.5lb off here, hopefully gone forever!

LentilStew · 11/01/2016 11:36

Yep, still 5.5lbs! Really please with the kickstart. I'm worried that my muffin top won't shrink as I think it's mainly just loose muscle and skin from carrying 4 very big babies.

Well done everyone on all the fantastic loses! We're on our way; no going back! Smile

I suggest everyone googles the amount of fat they've lost. Seeing that has been a huge incentive for me.

CishAndFips · 11/01/2016 12:26

Ok here it goes lay it on the line time. I'm weighing in tonight but I will be expecting a gain and this is why. I'm terrible at self sabotage I'm not very good at looking after myself. The second I told myself I was starting on Monday I wanted to reach for the crap and I succumbed again and again.

But.....this is what I've learnt

  1. I need to start loving myself more..I am worth it.
  2. I need to see this as a life style change not a diet and not a quick fix.
  3. Snacking is my biggest downfall I need to have some healthier foods available so if I do succumb I can make healthier choices.
  4. I eat a lot of bread so will be switching to seeded or whole meal bread from fri.
  5. I hugely underestimate the fat and calorie content in food. I often kill myself that something I've ate was only small so doesn't really count.
So yeah that's me for the first time being honest and not giving up at the first hurdle.
Arkkorox · 11/01/2016 12:52

Woohoo! Well done everyone! If anyone wants to join the fb group it's searchable now '2016 Mumsnet losers'

4lb off for me!

Now to keep up the motivation!

Loubilou09 · 11/01/2016 13:59

Okay I have just asked to join the mumsnet group

LetMeBeLight · 11/01/2016 14:14

Ditto!

I've been pretty good so expecting a reasonable loss. Haven't weighed in yet though, as it's time of the month and I feel very bloated which I suspect means I'm holding on to a bit of water weight at the moment.

Mrsboathook · 11/01/2016 14:19

2kg off!!

Onwards and downwards!!

Will ask to join Facebook group.

KarenHL · 11/01/2016 14:20

At the start of December I was told I need surgery. In order to ensure I get keyhole surgery, my lovely cons asked me to lose a stone. I know I put some more weight on between then and Christmas, so am aiming for a min of losing 21 pounds before the end of March.

However, when I weighed myself, I found I'm nearly 16 stone (15/11). Previously I did really well following lchf. Back then I had spinal and other health issues which prevented me walking/exercising. Long term I need to look at losing 5 stone total, and am not sure how the menopause will affect that. I've heard it can make losing weight harder.

Lots of traction later (thanks NHS physio) walking is fine. So I lchf according to a sustainable (for me) plan (this restricts refined carbs and root veg). Although I low carb, doing it this way means I probably eat more veg than before. I also started a fitsteps class last week (love it) and plan to do DVDs several times a week. Plus walking to town, rather than bus.

One week in I'm 4 pounds down. As a family, we found courgette ribbons work well as a pasta substitute.

LentilStew · 11/01/2016 15:02

CishAndFips, can I suggest using My Fitness Pal? I was useless at accounting for everything I ate until I started using MFP. Now I religiously record everything I put in my mouth even the teaspoonful of choc ice cream I had the other night. It came to 11 calories I think but it all adds up. Good luck. Every day is a new day.

CishAndFips · 11/01/2016 15:20

Unfortunately lentil I can't download apps. Is there another way because that sounds like it would really help.
