brains No experience with smoking. Maybe get another habit? Like that colouring in thing? Or knitting? I do crafting at night to stop me walking to the fridge.

I hated that baby period for being stuck in when the weather was bad. I feel your pain.

The weather is really pissing me off too. We are getting snow, the kids want to go out, then it just rains and we are in mud again. It's not on. I want to go out in the frosty sun and breath some real air.

I have 3 boxes left! Which is great for me. There are over 2o boxes in the outbuilding. But they are not for in the house and I will work on them if we ever get a springtime.

I lost 1 and a half pounds this week. My first proper weigh in with something to prove. Quite pleased as I didn't quite follow the plan because I still had stuff to eat and I hate waste. I celebrated with a packet of crisps. Blush

Hmmm. I'll have a think. But options are slim. Apart from willpower. Hmm

My ex smoker friend recommends hand lotion or lip salve. Slather on either and spend time rubbing! Apparently it distracts and relaxes the mind. I might try it, my hands are so dry. Grin

I may have lost my Christmas pounds but now it's just me and a biscuit barrel face-off. There are Penguins in there. And orange Club. It's only week 2 and my motivation is loooooow.

Brains - you have no festive pounds to lose so you've clearly done brilliantly over the holidays, so there's no need to be jealous of anyone. And stop putting yourself down.

Well done, Stellar!

Stellar67 · 13/01/2016 13:56

Step away Pippi!!!

You and Brains have done brilliantly. Now we are working on the keeping the momentum.
I really want chocolate, but I have convinced myself that the only chocolate to eat is 80% posh chocolate. And I have none.

I'm eating a banana. Confused

I also went to spin again today. Apparently this is now to be classed as body magic.

Let's have a fabulous week everyone!

Our SW lady is very annoying enthusiastic.

Swimming! Yes, you have to do that, because you can't drink, eat cheese or smoke at the pool either. Unless you have your own pool I suppose.

Well done on the walk. It's a bit drier here today too, but I think it's going to snow later.

pippistrelle · 13/01/2016 14:25

Swimming is a great idea. I might give it a go myself. I know it sounds bonkers but I'm thinking the outdoor pool because although there's the whole outside thing to contend with, the water itself is by far the warmest locally - and I have a horror bordering on phobia of cold water. My nearest and dearest think I'm ridiculous as I stand on the edge creeping deeper centimetre by centimetre, and tell me it's easier if you just dive in. I KNOW that, but I just CAN'T. It's not rational, but there we are: people aren't always rational.

Stellar67 · 13/01/2016 14:35

Outside? If we even had an outside pool it'd be frozen! Our local pool is cold enough. Grin
It's very brave! Do it!

The website says the water's 28 degrees. I'm now pondering their enormous heating bill. I'm gonna do it...

tomorrow...

possibly.

Stellar67 · 13/01/2016 15:13

You have to go PIppi, and report back.
When my dc were small, taking them swimming took so much planning. It's not so bad now. Yes you will use more energy organising it all than you will being in the pool!
Now I feel obliged to take mine. But they have lessons, so that obligation lasted seconds.

Did you go swimming Pippi?

I was going great guns this week. Then last night I had wine. And then ate the fridge. Gah.

Hi all, glad to see people motivated! I really want to go swimming again, I really need to change jobs - 4 hours' a day commuting means I have feck all time to do organised exercise! I have managed to get on the exercise bike nearly every day for the last couple of weeks though so at least that's something.

My eating has gone a bit wonky though with more exercise - currently averaging 1300-1400 a day which isn't really enough for me for decent weight loss. I've tried to be better this week and managed a 1lb loss; which now finally brings me to weighing less than 11stone, yay! Will try and get back to 5:2 next week to kick things up a notch.

No advice about smoking, sorry SFB - maybe take up one-handed origami? Grin

2lbs off at my weigh in. Hooray! My new rule is if I loose 1lb or less I have to stay and listen to the pitch. If not I get to go the the shop and buy speed foods and weird flavours of mullerlites.

4 hours a day commuting? Don't fancy that. I used to be 2 hours if I left a little early but usually left late. I don't know if I want a job to go to again. (Home worker) But I do miss the chat. I talk to myself. But I'm getting a bit narky Wink

No spin tomo as one of the kids has a show. But I'm dusting off the treadmill tonight. Maybe. If Eastenders is shit.
