Can't believe we've had to start a new thread already!

I'm on plan today and feeling good about it, this weight will go down! Still 10'13 this morning, not too disappointed. Hoping it'll go down with a good sleep or two over the weekend!

Well done imust on the big walk! I've walked every day for a good bit too, easing my way back in.
A teaspoon of sugar helps the medicine go down...but is sadly 16 cals, I remember this very vividly must - but if you're only having 1 cuppa it's not bad at all. I have a lot of tea but I don't take sugar or milk so it's safe for me.
what, as bath says 2lbs nothing (Tis but a poo Blush) It'll be gone quick smart. bath I think we're in the same shape after Christmas but hey we're back on wagon now. I think I'll finish the day at around 1000 and that's good enough

Bathsheba3 · 04/01/2016 17:29

1000 will be amazing Not2b. Yet to log on my cals as my laptop has been commandeered by DC's all day. Remind me what you'r at? 12 stone 2? It's good to have someone roughly the same, to help spur on. Mind you, I hang my head in shame as I was neck-and-neck with Jonty at some point months ago, and now she is shimmying and galloping about in her size tiny fancy jodphurs. Probably in white too, to show off her pert bottom !!! Damn right deserves it though. And serves me right too!

MustBeThin · 04/01/2016 17:50

Not2b what??!! Just checked and it was 0.5 Tsp 8 cals Blush Oh well only bad one. I have just had my tea and still have 348 calories left....less if you minus my extra 16cal sugar. Hmm what do those sweetener things taste like and how are they calorie wise?

This brown rice stuff, I don't know whether I cooked it wrong or its just a weird texture I'm not used to but it was a little bit chewy? It said cook for 25-30mins and I did. Hmm I measured my water and rice correctly too so not that.

littleleftie · 04/01/2016 17:51

Having managed to put on half a stone over Christmas I thought I would use mfp to lose it. However, every time I try to add my food, using the app on my mobile, it seems to be down.

Is it just me, or is MFP overloaded with New Year dieters?

Not2bObvious · 04/01/2016 18:00

Brown rice is a bit of an acquired taste alright 😁 I like that its kinda nutty? I think it's better for keeping you full but it's not an essential if you're not keen. My kids love wholewheat spag, I was in shock!
Yep bath, 12.2'ish (12.2.6 but who's counting sez she with gritted teeth!) ahh feck it, it'll be gone in no time if we keep to the plan.
I'd say mfp is bursting at the seams alright!

MustBeThin · 04/01/2016 18:09

I don't think it tastes bad, just a weird texture! Will deffo keep eating it. Going to go on a 3.5 mile walk tomorrow and will make a batch of Jamie Oliver tomato soup, was going to make it today but 2 different supermarkets didn't have any fresh basil. Angry

IMustEatMoreVeg · 04/01/2016 18:36

Just you leftie. Mfp is working okay for me. Maybe try reinstalling the app?

Must brown rice is chewy! Quite yummy too.

littleleftie · 04/01/2016 19:04

How do i reinstall the app? It won't even let me log out! It just keeps giving me a message that says "Cannot connect to MFP"

Not2bObvious · 04/01/2016 19:16

My mfp is failing to sync too, hold off reinstall for a bit maybe? I've been using it so long, I've nearly every food I eat in there 😁 That's kinda sad I think

littleleftie · 04/01/2016 19:22

Thanks obvious I have registered my daily intake online using laptop but I do like the convenience of the app. Hopefully it will get better as people fall off the wagon - not all us lot of course!!!

aleC4 · 04/01/2016 19:26

Evening everyone.
Well my first day has gone well. I have kept well within my calories today. I finished work an hour earlier than usual today as a one off and the kids were with their childminder so I did a 45 minute walk which felt good.
I have also drunk about 2 litres of water today? How much is good? I drink such a tiny amount normally and I know it is doing me no good so I am determined to up it.

MustBeThin · 04/01/2016 22:01

So I tried to complete today's entry but I'm 259 calories under and it won't let me do it! Says I'm not eating enough. I've had 3 meals, plus tea and 2 jaffa's and a banana. What do I do?!

IMustEatMoreVeg · 04/01/2016 22:11

Must you need to have eaten at least 1000. Sometimes I am a bit under so I either dont press complete or sometimes I tell mfp I have eaten another biscuit or something (I don't really eat it!)

MustBeThin · 04/01/2016 22:17

IMust I will tell it a little porkie then. Grin I've eaten 997cals so only need to fudge it a little. Can't believe i've had 3 meals, 2 snacks and I'm well under. Don't feel hungry either, I mean I could still eat chocolate but I could eat that even if I'm stuffed, that's why I'm tubby. Wink
Almost had 1.5lts water too and I never drink water. Feeling positive.

MustBeThin · 04/01/2016 22:27

😂😂 this is usually me

MFP to lose weight - Part 3
CortisolandCaffeine · 04/01/2016 22:36

Be careful of eating under. I have done that and then had a complete binge by the end of the week because I am so faint/hungry. You may well have more willpower than me though!

Not2bObvious · 05/01/2016 06:08

For the newbies who mightn't have seen the mention or explanation of soup days, it's 1 or 2 (probably not more) of lower cal days, like 5:2 or 6:1 - somewhere between 700-1000, it seems to help either nudge the scales or just balance out any hiccups. Mfp will let you complete if you're under, just moans a bit, press complete and don't look too closely but absolutely no consistently staying under 1000, it's counter productive and won't work long term unless your goal is to be miserable. I finished yesterday, which was a soup day, @920 cals. That was a fast from the previous evening until lunchtime and the cheese/coleslaw/wheaten bread - around 450 cals, the chicken with chilli/basil on 70gr of rice topped with a poached egg and a digestive bikkie for afters. Very enjoyable. Now to see if the scales has nudged

JontyDoggle37 · 05/01/2016 06:33

Morning all. Down half a pound from yesterday, to a new low of 10 st 3.5. Readjusted my MFP weekly loss goal last night - I did have it set to 2lb loss per week, which meant by allowance was only 1260 calories. But with my lifestyle that simply isn't enough to maintain me through the day and I felt ill by last night, so lowered my weekly goal to 1.5lbs and I now have an allowance of 1490 which feels much better. Yesterday, for instance, I ran 3 miles, mucked out 2 horses, did washing and cleaning, played with my baby son inbetween it all and then wanted to work on my business last night but couldn't because I felt so rubbish. Ended up having a piece of toast and marmite and going to bed at 9pm. Lesson learnt.
Bath you made me laugh out loud with your description of me prancing around in my breeches lol! You'll get there, life just gets in the way sometimes. Keep on keeping on!

Not2bObvious · 05/01/2016 06:58

Well done jonty! I think you did right to adjust the calories, you obviously needed more considering how busy your life is. Losing weight shouldn't be at the cost of losing health or life quality.
Soup day success - down to 12.0.8 from 12.2.6 😁 The way I approached it last year was soup day Monday and Wednesday, weigh in Tuesday and Friday - hope to be under 12 again by Friday, should be possible. 1200 cal day today, not hungry so might hold off to have my porridge until I get to work.

MustBeThin · 05/01/2016 08:12

Well no point me getting on the scales I don't think! Feel really bloated, not had a number 2 and I didn't have a proper one yesterday or the day before either 😕 it'll probably tell me I've put weight on won't it. Sorry for the TMI if you are eating your breakfast.

MustBeThin · 05/01/2016 08:30

Well I stupidly weighed myself! 13st 10 Angry I was 13st 7 Sunday. Purposely didn't pig out on Sunday and had just under 100 cals yesterday and I only had 1 cup of tea and drank water all day. Surely I can't have 3 lbs of shit

JontyDoggle37 · 05/01/2016 08:38

MustBeThin tomorrow or the day after you'll have what we call a 'whoosh' where your body suddenly gets with the new program and a load of weight disappears. It's a mixture of poo and water retention at the moment. You've changed your eating habits and your body is hanging on to everything because it's confused and storing reserves just in case. It will get over itself in a day or two and then you get a lovely surprise on the scales!

twinkle183 · 05/01/2016 10:33

Morning all... Gonna do a sneaky weigh! Managed to get my 10,000 steps on Fitbit yesterday only cos I was at work Hmm!! Nightshift tonight and I really struggle to not eat rubbish! Any tips are welcomed...

I have managed to up my water but am finding that when I am bored I eat... Any one else have this problem???

Loving this thread!! Well done to everyone that has lost... Keep up the good work and I'll get back to you will a weigh in! Smile

Binglet · 05/01/2016 10:47

My first full day back on MFP and I managed to come in with 71 calories to spare, which I see as an achievement on my first day. Need to adjust back into the way of life now.

5000 steps according to my step counter so that's not too bad. Will try and up that at the weekends as i spend most of the day stood up still at work (laboratory) so can't really up that too much. Might start going for a lunchtime walk!

Well done everyone whose lost/maintaining. Keep up the good work.

Bathsheba3 · 05/01/2016 11:27

Don't be disheartened Must - keep strong, and so long as you are sticking to the calories, it WILL whoosh off as Jonty says. We have all had times without a loss despite being v v good, and know how damn frustrating it is. But be patient, and you will drop a couple of pounds, feel lighter, have a flatter tummy, and boost yourself for the next few lbs.

Well done Not2be & Jonty. 1 lb loss for me too, so I'm now back into the 11's. Thank God. Feel great. Didn't drink last night either (I'm doing Dry Jan) - which is amazing. Last time I didn't have a drink was in Dry June Blush

Have a good day everyone, and be strong!

ps - Jonty - am still in awe of your energy! Wow.
