Could you swap the chips for a side salad with the burger, or not eat the bun if it comes with one, order some extra veg instead?

Emz449 · 21/10/2015 18:37

Ah enjoy it Irishe, i hope its nice! I love ravioli Smile

Thanks trying, although it was a chip shop burger and chips, I've estimated 1050 according to mfp. I think you should have something, 900 is very very low. I now have mfp set for 1500 but have been staying between 1100-1300 and it's been a tough 3 days. I'm trying to stay away from the wine until Saturday but realistically it could be Friday. I've an afternoon tea booked on Sunday as a treat for Dd1 so I need to be very strict to allow for that...scones with cream, yum

psychotropic · 21/10/2015 18:45

I've had a day of eating absolutely everything and logging nothing Blush it's dawning on me that I'm just not willing to do the actual food related work of weight loss (thinking ahead, shopping, preparing food) and I might be better off creating my calorie deficit by either running a bit more or taking up some completely new additional exercise.

Not2bObvious · 21/10/2015 18:46

Irishe hope you have a lovely night out, I second psychos suggestion or if you don't feel comfortable asking for the burger without the bun, desemble it when it arrives and eat with a knife and fork - slows you down and you can gauge fullness better. Decide how many chips you'll allow yourself - hide the rest under the top of the burger bun. And when finished cover with napkin and push away so no chance of sneaky chip picks.
Or fill your boots and enjoy - no guilt though or you're not allowed Wink

Tryingno1 · 21/10/2015 19:02

iris he just enjoy it! and then be extra good for 2 days. esp if you don't eat out much - eat something u will enjoy! (sorry I'm not giving u the most sensible advice but i know when i go out i just prefer to forget dieting and then pay for it the few days after!)

900 is too low! i was just doing it to quickly woosh the holiday weight, its worked at least. once I'm back to 11 ill go to 1100, if i have more i don't loose weight fast enough and i get dis heartened plus i can have 1 binge/eating out day. I've totally given up alcohol now for a few months so hopefully that will help!

not2 - i loveee aft tea! def enjoy. maybe no cream but the jam? but wants a scone without the jam!!

MrsDLH · 21/10/2015 19:11

If it's a rare treat, irishe just enjoy it...you can balance it out with some lower cal days. If it will make you feel crappy, then do what the others have suggested. Personally, Id make the most of it!

Well done to those who lost! And commiserations to those who gained (a teeny amount so not worth worrying over) and those who have eaten more than planned - we have to live and these moments will happen, the key is to get back on track as soon as you can.

Im coming in at 1200 today and doing a hiit workout in an hour when dd has watched corrie Hmm My new challenge is to drink more water. Ive downloaded the water my body app to track it and will keep chugging away! Still losing weekend weight...will do a 900/1000 day tomorrow

Emz449 · 21/10/2015 19:24

Good idea about the burger! I'm so greedy when i go out for dinner though, i'd just scoff what i wanted to Grin it only happens occasionally at the moment though

I havent actually had an afternoon tea before, putting it on my list to have!

Got a few challenging weeks coming up which could hinder the holiday weight loss, but i'm going to try and plan around it and have lower calorie days during the week. 37 days to go!

Down 0.7lb this morning.
Just about to head out for a walk as my joints are a bit achey for a run.

JontyDoggle37 · 22/10/2015 07:51

Emz can't burve it's only 37 days to go, November is galloping towards us!
Back down to 10st 13.25 this morning, DH is out tonight so I'll do something vegetarian for dinner (he gets quite upset if no meat!). Quite a busy day today, lots of housework and a Conf call with someone I used to work with for advice on my new business. Best get to it!!

irishe · 22/10/2015 08:27

Morning all
Well I had a lovely meal last night. I haven't been out for a meal since July so I decided to enjoy it.
I had bruschetta to start, goats cheese salad for main and a scone with jam and cream for dessert, all very tasty.
Added to the rest of my food during the day, that takes me 571 cals over for the day. Ah well. I am going to try for a low cal circa 1000 cals today.

I had a late night so am feeling very tired, which is always a trigger for me to eat, so not feeling very confident about my ability to come in at 1000 cals.

I loved the tips on how to eat less calories at last nights meal. Who suggested hiding the chips under the burger roll? Inspired!

God I feel knackered and hungry already, grim. It's going to be a long day.

Well done losers!

Tryingno1 · 22/10/2015 08:40

Good work girls! I'm liking theses losses

I am still 11.08 so 0.8 still to shift from holiday. Boohoo. Not sure it will be off tmrw as per goal.

Tryingno1 · 22/10/2015 08:41

Sounds lovely irishie glad u enjoyed and hopefully it will kee u focused for today. Lots of water!

BeaBoo · 22/10/2015 08:58

I've gone up to 13st 2 today Sad I don't understand it as although I had a bad weekend (which wasn't that bad in the grand scheme of things), I've been under my calories all week. I was 12st 10 last Friday!! How can I have gained 6lb in a week?! I feel really bloated today and have trapped wind so I don't know if that's the cause.

BeaBoo · 22/10/2015 08:59

Sounds lovely irishe. 500 over isn't bad at all for a meal out. It sounds like you made a good choice with the salad Smile

Not2bObvious · 22/10/2015 09:40

Me! I'm the chip hider Wink I've just found out of sight out of mind. Delighted you had a nice night irishe, you can still get a decent feed in today for 1000. Are you vegetarian? How about a nice omelette (v Gavin & Stacey!) Think of yourself nourishing and cleansing rather than cutting back, light as a feather thoughts. I'm still the same as the last 2 days (12.6.4), to make up for my burger binge I'm going cleansing day today as well. Had a 20 min walk/run as I was dropping kids off. Now to get my hair done (it's a hard life Grin) shopping, light lunch, collect kids and then visitor tonight but I've put away my white wine so I won't be tempted. have a good morning all,
baa, you didn't gain all that, it's bloat, give it another week it'll be gone and then some of you still to
a cal deficit, chin up Wink

MrsDLH · 22/10/2015 09:44

Sounds lovely, irishe! And not too bad with calories at all.

Bea that can't be right, it will be a blockage or water for sure. Don't let it put you off your stride because it will most likely disappear as quickly as it appeared!

I'm expecting a gain or stay the same this week but will try not to get disheartened...ive tripled my water intake (day 2) so expect it will take a few days for my body to adjust...although I havent peed this much since being pregnant Grin plus tom symptoms reared their head this morning...very very heavy boobs!

Not2bObvious · 22/10/2015 09:46

Sorry bea not baa

BeaBoo · 22/10/2015 10:27

Is there any good way to get rid of the bloat? Would drinking lots of water work?

Emz449 · 22/10/2015 10:29

Sounds lovely Irishe, glad you have a nice evening, very jealous of your food. I hope you have a good day today and that you're able to stick to your calorie allowance, sounds like it might be tough but you can do it! Star

Bea that doesn't sound right at all, 6lbs must be bloating/water retention and hopefully will come back off soon. I can emphasise with unexpected gains!

Still 10'12 this morning Hmm hoping for a loss over the next few days or at the weekend which is more likely. 9 weigh days until the end of the month!

I know Jonty, I can't believe how quickly the time is going, it was 86? Days t begin with. Really can't wait to see him now, I miss him!

OP posts:
Tryingno1 · 22/10/2015 10:49

Bea u can't have put on 6, like others said its prob bloat. R ur scales decent as some go up and down for no reason! I finally coughed up and invested in some exp ones which r accurate and don't lie to me!

Emz how exciting! Bet u can't wait! I'm sure he will notice ur weight loss :)

I'm not sure I'll make it to 10 12 next Friday? thats 2.8 pounds in 7 days? Is that possible?!

Emz449 · 22/10/2015 10:54

He best do Trying, I now weigh less then when we first got together, only by a few pounds though Grin

You never know, you might reach your target, especially if some of the weight is still holiday gain. Good luck!

OP posts:
BeaBoo · 22/10/2015 14:24

Thanks for the reassurance re the mystery 6lb gain! I am going for a low cal day today and had a green smoothie for breakfast, some muesli for lunch and root vegetable soup for tea.

My scales are posh new ones that do body fat etc too (I don't use that bit because it's depressing!) so I do trust them. Will drink lots of water today!!

IMustEatMoreVeg · 22/10/2015 17:13

Bea that me u sounds just the ticket for today. Aim to drink at least 2 litres of water too.

Trying - 2.8 is doable if you really go for it. Soup days and walking I reckon!

Just the one meal for me today - I went out for lunch. I tried to make sensible choices so I had salad then scallops but then I had a dessert - some autumny apple thing. I think altogether it may have been around 1500cal (based on very rough estimation!) So not a terrible situation especially as mfp has given me 200 or so for my steps today. But I'm going to stop for today and not have any dinner.

Emz449 · 22/10/2015 18:28

Hmm day has been ok, calorie wise it's 1400, my manager bought me a millionaire slice and pom bears as it's been a stressful week sabotage It was a nice treat though, the lower calorie day yesterday will have made up for it i'm sure!

Heading out for lunch tomorrow as it's pay day so that will be nice, not too concerned really as i'll just have soup for dinner if i'm feeling hungry afterwards. Not too sure where we're going yet so can't really plan for it but will make good choices

Hope everyone has had a good day Smile
