Morning. 0.75lb gain which I thoroughly deserve. Several days of being nowhere near target and last night resorted to my old pattern of wine, enabled by my well-meaning husband, because I was stressed. So, run this morning even though it's raining, 1,000 calorie day for the next two days and rest of the wine is going in the freezer for risottos. Bloody minded determination has got to help me change my habits.

Not2bObvious · 21/10/2015 07:12

It's just a flux Jonty, you didn't gain that overnight, by all means do a run but don't punish yourself cause your body reacted to the wine. I always see a gain the day after drinking but you'd have to have drank 5 bottles on top of 2000 or so cals to truly gain .75.
Of course if you did drink 5 bottles you wouldn't be here, you'd be slowly crying under a duvet somewhere Grin Don't let a bad weigh make a bad day - that goes for eating too little as well as too much. I hate seeing you mad at yourself when you've been doing so good
Now, I'm fully prepared to eat my words as I get ready for my own WI

Just been catching up. I really want a Tunnocks tea cake now!

I second asda for bras. They do some really nice styles and they are really cheap but good quality. Someone once told me that they get their underwear made in the same place as M&S do, but I'm not sure how true that is!

I think I'm on track for a gain this week. Too much bread and not enough water. I don't usually eat bread and now I feel bloated and rubbish. Not feeling very motivated at the moment. I've done a meal plan for the rest of the week and DP is going shopping tonight so I should be ok for the rest of the week.

IMustEatMoreVeg · 21/10/2015 09:01

No loss for me today.

Just had a look at Asda bras. Some really lovely styles and so cheap! But alas the back sizes seem to start at 34? Too big for me unfortunately.

Emz you are so good at meal planning. You eat delicious sounding food.

IMustEatMoreVeg · 21/10/2015 09:05

Been having a quick clothes trying on session this morning before work. The pencil skirt I am wearing today is size 12 and is too big!

I also tried on a really old evening gown (at 7.30 this morning - why?!) that is about 12 years old and I last wore 6 years ago. It is a size 14 but pre vanity sizing - I highly doubt it would be labelled size 14 nowadays. It fits.

I have a calorific weekend coming up so I am going to have a very low calorie day today in anticipation .

Tryingno1 · 21/10/2015 09:23

yay imust thats GREAT! i hope that keeps you motivated for being good today. i think i can just about squeeze into a 12 but i think when I'm into the 10's in a few weeks the size 12 rail will be calling my name!

jaunie don't feel too bad, i came back with a 4 pound gain and have lost nearly all of it in a few days. wine and carbs equals bloating and water retention. don't be too hard on urself and I'm sure it will shift asap

so im 11.0.8 today yay. maybe i will be 11 by friday and hit the tens next week. I WOULD love that. i have a engagement part this weekend but not touching alcohol and will stick to chicken/veg and stay away from the pudding i really want to be 10 something nxt week so I'm hoping ill behave all weekend!

Tryingno1 · 21/10/2015 09:23

ps thats JONTY! typo!

JontyDoggle37 · 21/10/2015 09:34

not2b thank you for the kind words.
Trying I feel all French now, 'Jaune'!Smile

IMustEatMoreVeg · 21/10/2015 09:41

Wow to everyone hitting the 10s
Jonty, Trying, Emz... anyone else?
Hopefully I won't be too long myself. Maybe a couple of weeks?

Tryingno1 · 21/10/2015 10:11

I'm not there yet! Another 1 pound to go.

Emz449 · 21/10/2015 11:08

Still the same this morning! It bounced to 10'10 but alas settled on the same weight. Will keep on plodding. Having a lower calorie day today in the hope that it will whoosh off tomorrow. I think it's going to be about 900! I had been pointing my soup at 110 a portion but when I've looked up the ingredients it's actually 62?! Can't believe it because it's so filling, happy though, when I've had it for my evening meal I've been really satisfied. No cookies today either which is good!

Well done everybody! I don't think I've lost weight, unsurprisingly, but I definitely haven't gained either. I'm averaging just 2000 calories a day, assuming I'm logging with any accuracy and my weight is holding fairly steadily at around 10.5 stone. I'm sure if I could just tweak things a bit (I'm thinking carbs Shock) I could start losing weight.

Emz449 · 21/10/2015 11:10

Just out of interest, if my fitness pal was to stop being free would you pay for it or use a different calorie counter/slimming group?

OP posts:
psychotropic · 21/10/2015 11:16

I wouldn't pay for it or join a slimming group but it's been invaluable as an eye opener!

BeaBoo · 21/10/2015 12:29

I'd probably pay for it if it wasn't too expensive!

psychotropic · 21/10/2015 12:32

Slimming World won't let me join online (my BMI is just under 23) but Weight Watchers seemed as if they would be happy to take my money Shock

IMustEatMoreVeg · 21/10/2015 14:00

No I wouldn't pay. I only use it to count calories after all. I could actually use a spreadsheet instead.

JontyDoggle37 · 21/10/2015 14:24

I'd pay, but it would have be a small amount similar to other app prices, rather than similar to WW or Slimming World prices. I don't need educating as such, so I don't want to pay extra for all that, I just need a tool that works and makes it easy for me to stick to my eating plan.

irishe · 21/10/2015 15:19

Hi guys
jonty as others have said, it's not real. I apparently have put on .5lb overnight. No way!

Would I pay for mfp? Hmm good question, probably not. Now I know what I am doing, could use something else.

Tryingno1 · 21/10/2015 16:35

i would pay a very very small amount. i like seeing I'm getting all the vitamins and a balance of carbs/prtein/fat etc too so i like that. but i wouldn't pay more than 2-3 quid a month! id find something else

I'm think a bit of up and down is normal irishe, hopefully back down tmrw!

Not2bObvious · 21/10/2015 18:22

Dammit! Started the day great but then had quarter pounder with cheese & chips for lunch Sad Shameful! I'm coming in at 1750 or so and I've no wriggle room left for the day. Nibbled my way through 2 sausages while making the kids tea. I'll just have to suffer out the rest of the day. But I shouldn't be hungry, I just have to convince myself now.
Weight stayed the same today, all good on that score. How's everyone else's day gone?

Tryingno1 · 21/10/2015 18:26

Oh not2! It's ok to have days where u slip up otherwise life is very boring! I'm on 1000 and absolutely starving!!!! I might have a yoghurt or something don't think I can survive the whole night as I ate dinner already! But think I'm gonna hit 1200 today which is really annoying as wanted another 900 to get back to 11 on Friday!

Tryingno1 · 21/10/2015 18:27

Also on 1750 u won't have gained at least! Not 2 bad considering it's a Big Mac!

Emz449 · 21/10/2015 18:27

Yeah i think i would pay, only if it was a one off normal app fee rather then a monthly one. Does make me think they may introduce something after seeing the premium service they offer.

Good day here! Under 900 by about 20 calories so happy with that, will see if it makes a difference tomorrow on the scales!

irishe · 21/10/2015 18:31

trying I am out for a very rare meal tonight, so think my chances of dropping tomorrow are slim!

I have checked the menu and my choices are veg ravioli, veg burger and chips or an entire baked Camembert! Lots of healthy choices there . . . Not!

I will just need to do 2 or 3 low cal days to even out I think.
