Emz soundsike a great start to your week all round!

MajesticWhine · 12/10/2015 09:00

Glad to hear good news this morning.
I'm not weighing today - the weekend was a bit excessive so I need to detox for a couple of days and then see how things are.

psychotropic · 12/10/2015 09:04

Morning Majestic. I wish I'd taken that view, I think I knew deep down that carb loading and refuelling would inflate my scales weight but curiosity got the better of me and now I feel miserable.

irishe · 12/10/2015 11:26

Glad you have heard from him emz, must have been worrying. And onwards to the 10's this week!

Great inch losses jonty. You sound very motivated.
psycho are you sore after your race? Or does it not impact like that afterwards?

Well I have weighed in, still no weight loss, been a couple of weeks now. emz I know, you feel my pain!*. I am definitely sticking to my cals so it's not underestimating, just need to plod on. I am .2 lbs above my weigh in 2 weeks ago, so I have hope I will drop below that this week.

On the plus side, my blood sugars are much easier to control due to eating low carb. I am diabetic and using considerably less insulin, which helps in not developing resistance to insulin. So all good on the overall health aspects.

Have a good week everyone!

irishe · 12/10/2015 11:38

Oh psycho don't be sad. It is such an achievement to be able to run at such a great time. I remember the very wise post you made up thread about it not being about just the nos on the scales but about all the other health benefits. Health, is so much more than just our weight. I know, you already know this!

I am experiencing a bit of a plateau after losing a stone in sept. I will not lie, it is frustrating. But I am trying to focus on other benefits, the better blood sugar regulation, I mentioned in my last post, which has major long term benefits for me.

Your physical achievements are very inspiring, please don't let the nos on be scales take away from that.

Bathsheba3 · 12/10/2015 11:41

Amazing running psycho. Hope you had a lovely hot bath last night. So relieved to hear your BF finally got in touch Emz. Am sure the worry will have earned a few extra calories in adrenaline racing around. Great lunch choices Jonty. Sorry to hear no weight loss either for you irishe. Hope you aren't feeling too miffed. Not even the drumming helped? Wink. I'm going to try and ditch the carbs too this week.

Motivation Monday everyone. Lets go for it.

irishe · 12/10/2015 11:48

Yes bath I am pretty miffed that the drumming didn't burn off some cals. I really whacked that drum for an hour!

psychotropic · 12/10/2015 13:27

Thanks lovely people Flowers I completely conveniently forgot everything I said about the numbers on the scales! Blush yeah I'm really sore and stiff, if I sit for any length of time I seize up! The next race is next month and psychologically will be much easier, physically too because it's completely flat. I'm going to try to find out more about the best way to eat for performance and fat loss, everyone says it's one or the other when you're running but one thing mfp has taught me is that my diet is terrible! It's almost 100% takeaways restaurants or ready made sandwiches from the garage!

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 12/10/2015 13:38

I just had Domino's pizza three days in a row. Blush

Definitely time to get back on the wagon...

Emz449 · 12/10/2015 14:15

You shouldn't feel miserable psycho, it's a great achievement! I think maybe you crave what your body needs after a challenge like that and you just have to obey, even if it may be not the healthiest!

Thanks for the kind words it was a big relief. I felt a bit silly for panicking about it really but emotions were high yesterday anyway due to my sore head!

Indulged in a few of the office cakes today Blush nothing too terrible though and within the calories for my day. I usually can say no but I'm putting it down to tiredness today

MrsDLH · 12/10/2015 14:33

Don't feel silly, Emz... Perfectly natural reaction. If dh is late getting in from a night out, I start worrying about how I'm going to tell the kids that daddy hasn't come home Blush

Let's not dwell on stuck scales and calorific weekends...let's consider the progress made so far and progresses to come. And being healthier and slimmer! My tight 14s work trousers are on today because my slightly looser pair are in the wash and I haven't split them yet and they're comfortable... Yay!

I was only back to 11st 6 this morning, better than last week so hoping to see 11st 2 this week once the weekend bloating subsides.

IMustEatMoreVeg · 12/10/2015 17:28

Oh dear... I was doing so well. Then Nutella cake happened for dessert tonight. I'm not sure if I will have a loss when I get home at the end of the week. The food here has been really great and we are on half board so three courses just appears at the dinner. I am learning though - I find it easier if I just don't order a dessert. I am quite bad at having just a taste. Also that I do not need dessert. I feel really uncomfortable when I eat it. Far too full.

Emz449 · 12/10/2015 18:38

I'm terrible for having dessert or something sweet after dinner, it just seems to finish off the meal for me, almost like a reward for getting through the day. Nutella cake sounds lovely, not sure i could have said no.

It's been a good day here, not perfect, but good. Tomorrow will be better, have a busy day at a conference tomorrow so won't be much time to eat. In the car from 7am which will be horrendous! It will be sandwiches for lunch though but i can have a low carb dinner Smile

irishe · 12/10/2015 18:45

imust you are still doing well, to maintain on holiday takes a huge amount of effort and willpower. Could any of us imagine losing weight if we ate out at a restaurant every night for a week? Not likely!

I agree with you about not having a dessert. I find that if I have a taste, or share, my taste buds go into overdrive and just crave more sugar. But that's just me, lol. Like you say, it's all good learning though.

Keep up the good work.

irishe · 12/10/2015 18:53

mrsdlh well done for being able to wear your no longer, "tight" trousers, a big achievement!

I am going for a low cal day, hoping to come in under 1000 cals, to kickstart my weight loss again. Wish me luck, against the evening munchies!

irishe · 12/10/2015 18:58

Ok just counted up today's tally. Going to end on 913 for the day. Fingers crossed I make it.

Emz449 · 12/10/2015 19:20

Good luck Irishe!!

I had breakfast for dinner tonight (brinner) and it was great, seeded bread, poached eggs and bacon with the fat cut off. Definitely what i needed!

OP posts:
irishe · 12/10/2015 19:47

I like the sound of that emz. Brinner, love it!

psychotropic · 12/10/2015 19:49

I'm coming in at 1083 for the day, sounds like we are all knuckling down. No way could I resist Nutella anything, I can eat a whole jar Blush

psychotropic · 12/10/2015 19:50

I forgot to include my night snack yoghurt, it's a total 0% one with honey. Still a very low day for me. This thread makes me realise how greedy I am!

Bathsheba3 · 12/10/2015 19:51

I should have done what you did Majestic & not weigh this morning. But it did mean I had tuna & salad for my dinner, instead of joining the kids with sausages, fried potatoes and beans for tea.

MrsD - congrats on the roomy size 14's! Hope it gave you a boost. I would love to be a 12 again. At 11 10 I'm still a way off, but determined to get there.

Smilla - Hope you have had a better day ...

JontyDoggle37 · 12/10/2015 20:36

Wow we are really all cracking down!
I'm finishing on 1100 for the day, I'm full, I've had three nice meals and a couple of biscuits with tea. It's all good! And after the day I've had today (I have sat down once since 6am and have been running most places, with housework, horse mucking out and exercising covering most of it) I should damn well have a loss tomorrow lol! Good luck in the morning everyone Grin

MrsDLH · 12/10/2015 21:04

Brinner...teeheehee!

Thanks ladies, i can't remember the last time I was a size 12 and for the first time in almost 20 years, i can see myself getting there.

irishe you will beat youself up if you succomb to the munchies...you dont need them! I tell myself, that's it for today then look forward to eating again tomorrow Grin I do find though that once I get past that raging first thing in the morning hunger, i can go ages before eating. Must be my stomach shrinking?

Everyone has done great today, even the holidayers...well done, all! My count is 1181 cals. My mfp has stop giving me calorie adjustments for my steps which is annoying...i try not to eat them but still...Angry

psychotropic · 12/10/2015 21:12

I was just going to ask about calorie adjustments for steps, I only earned 23 calories today for 5.5 miles/14000 steps - not very generous? Hmm

MrsDLH · 12/10/2015 21:25

It's positively mean, psycho! Looking back a few days, I got 125 cals for 13419 steps on Wed (did log an aerobics class separately), 216 for 10007 steps on Thurs, 104 cals for 10053 steps on Fri, 0 cals for 11279 on Sat (wtf?), 0 cals for 10763 steps on Sun but logged 40 mins on the cross trainer and 67 cals today for 10023 steps. No rhyme, nor reason!
