September 1st... Pounds and inches... Back on it, who is in??

MissFitt68 · 31/08/2015 22:56

That's it now, the fun is over! I'm not feeling or looking my best. I've slipped up and fallen off the healthy wagon

So I'm jumping back on!!

Tomorrow morning I will restart the eating ( low carb I think) and will take my measurements ( for when the pounds dont budge, the inches usually will)

30 minutes minimum exercise daily.... Yes, let's MAKE time. It's an episode of emmerdale/eastenders

Weigh in and measuring on Saturday mornings

Done this before, lost 5 stone.... Put 2 back on. It's NOT staying!

Anyone want to join in? Have had these monthly threads in the past and had some great success

Can I be a late arrival to the party? I want to be slim(mer) and healthy(er) by December the first.
I have got into a horrendous habit of having huge teas and takeaways regularly and a bottle of wine almost every night Blush

I need to be strong because myself and dp have no willpower :(

Currently 13st 3 and 5"2 :( I need to stop now!!

Error404usernamenotfound · 09/09/2015 09:18

TheImprobableGirl, my DH and I have also got into a booze and takeaways habit Blush There's a lovely independant offie and loads of nice takeaway places just round the corner. We're almost on first-name terms with some of them Grin. But no more... (Except as a treat now and again, like it used to be)

Are you following a particular diet, or just cutting out the takeaways and reducing portions? I'm doing the latter, as I feel restricted and miserable on structured plans. I know they work very well for some, but I can never last more than a few days!

TheImprobableGirl · 09/09/2015 20:29

Am gonna try special k for breakfast and lunch error and a good hours walk with dd2 in the pushchair after dropping dd1 at school for the afternoon. She's just gone into reception so I am hoping to use the time to exercise and relax a bit! Do you have dc?? It's so bloody difficult! I think possibly quorn chilli for dinner as we have most of the bits in

TheImprobableGirl · 09/09/2015 20:30

I am having last blowout Chinese and wine tonight

Error404usernamenotfound · 10/09/2015 10:23

Hope you enjoyed the Chinese and wine! I'm still allowing myself things like that, but less often. My thinking is that I want to lose weight by eating in a way that I will be happy with for the rest of my life. Maintaining the weight should be easier that way, although I expect progress to be slow. I don't have a great deal of weight to lose so I don't mind that.

I have one dd, aged 17 months. She's at nursery four days a week, and I'm a student so am either at home trying not to think about the shops round the corner, or at uni trying to avoid the myriad vending machines and caf??s!

It is tough work, but luckily DH is on board as he wants to lose a bit of weight too. He'll probably drop a stone in about a month though, the git Grin

Error404usernamenotfound · 10/09/2015 10:25

*cafes, not 'caf??s'. Idiot ipad...

MuttonDressedAsGoose · 10/09/2015 10:37

I'd like to join.

I lost about 10lbs last year by going sort of low carb and exercising a lot. But I got run down.

I gained it all back, maybe more, in a few months.

I'm a normal weight but I carry excess on my waist. I at least want to stop the spread. (I'm 45).

II had aproblem with drinking and sugar. I thought I'd do one thing at a time so I gave up sweets. Not all sugar, like in ketchup, but fizzy drinks, biscuits, etc. I realised that I want to drink less when I am not on a sugar roller coaster. If I do drink in a social situation, I get the munchies. So I'm working on no more drinking at all.

And the couple of times I've had sweets, I feel sick and woozy. I rarely crave sweets so long as I don't start eating them.

I've lost a couple of pounds. I'll weigh myself again on Saturday. Curious to see if there's any change.

My weight loss may be very slow, but I think the priority is to stop gaining and I accept that I may not ever weigh what I did ten years ago.

MissFitt68 · 10/09/2015 11:53

I know the feeling! I'm 47 in a few months and think I can still enjoy bloody marathons!? I weighed this morning and no loss so will try again tomorrow in case it's because I'm upping my water

Lost 1lb this week which is a relief and a step in the right direction.. I have been exercising more ( started cardio tennis this week), and walking, and treying to eat sensibly.
Mutton I have exact same problem as you as I carry all the excess round my middle.Last year I got half way through couch to 5k.. and that seemed to help a lot ( before I fell off the wagon).. I need to think about starting it again I suppose.

lastqueenofscotland · 10/09/2015 21:41

Had a bad day food wise today (unable to resist all the lively food someone bought in) and out for dinner tomorrow and Saturday why do I do it?!?!?!?

MissFitt68 · 10/09/2015 23:04

It's just a blip! Try tomorrow.

Yes I highly recommend c25k

Hopped on scales today after eating half a cocoa farm yesterday and have dropped another 2lbs since Sunday! Wasn't expecting that at all.

MuttonDressedAsGoose · 11/09/2015 09:54

Woo hoo! That's great news.

MissFitt68 · 11/09/2015 10:26

Oh well done!

Day 11 and I've dropped 11 pounds. Exactly. Done zero running as so busy with work/kids/house stuff. Hoping I can keep the momentum going but with it being the weekend I'm thinking .... Wine! Maybe a small glass of red, one bottle spread over 3 nights.

How's everyone else doing? I've still not found time to take any measurements, annoyed at myself!

Well done missfitt your weight loss is amazing.

York races now four weeks away and I want to cry as weight loss is not where I wanted it to be. Life has certainly got in the way!

Weighed in this morning 2.6lb lighter than last Saturday so it's slowly coming off. And I only managed one fast in the end! Going to go hardcore for the next four weeks and fast 3 days a week - Monday Wednesday and Friday.

Hubby is a marathon runner - has done three and now put himself into retirement. Did the London marathon this year with no training as he blagged a last minute place due to a team member dropout with a contact from work. He is one of those awful people who can just run (I hate him!!!). I would love to run and am very jealous of all who can. It appears I never will as undiagnosed issues with my joints will forever get in my way. Have Dr appt Monday and am going to push to get an answer on why my joints are a mess (they cease up/over extend/crunch and grind and are generally awful!!). I do all these exercise classes with adapted moves as my wrists can't hold my weight in pressups etc

grumpygertie · 12/09/2015 10:41

Gosh I sound like my NN today grumpy Grin

WeightLossexpert7 · 12/09/2015 13:30

I no one minds me putting in my 5 cents worth, I'm a PT with 18 years experience, helped thousands of people (including loads of mums!) when you put your goals of how much you want to lose, really focus on the positives of how life would change on achieving that goal, all the amazing benefits you would get personal to you, such as more energy to keep up with children, clothes fitting better, self esteem boost, what ever it may be will spur you on!
As a Trainer who deals on exercise, I wish it wasn't but Nutrition is 70-80% results, decrease the high energy carbs if you can over time.
There may come a time when you deviate from your healthy plan, because we are all human, just jump straight back on! Loads where that came from, hope I helped someone...

ShutUpLegs · 12/09/2015 16:46

Ran today for the first time in ages and I have press-ganged some lovely friends into cycle ride tomorrow morning. On the downside, I sank a shed-load of wine by accident on Friday. It was great.

Looking forward to weigh-in on Monday....

MissFitt68 · 12/09/2015 17:34

Yes weightlossexpert turning a setback into a comeback is what matters

I'm sick of low carbing now. I think a few more days and I'll think about switching to paleo.... It's very similar but I remove most of the dairy and then can eat fruit and nuts instead!

Well done legs did you enjoy the run?

OP posts:
MissFitt68 · 13/09/2015 14:22

Soast night I caved.... I had walkers pitta chips, omg, they are amazing! With a glass of wine and risotto. And some of ds haribo. I made a cocoons decision to have the night off and I felt too full for pudding, so that's still in the fridge.

Back to low carbing today except I've had doughnut peaches. So it's BOOTCAMP very light today for me

Back on it tomorrow with a 5k morning run and a outdoor BOOTCAMP class

OP posts:
ShutUpLegs · 14/09/2015 10:26

Run was not fun but it was bearable. Also managed a short bike ride - not enough to burn any meaningful calories but enough to test out my back and find it is good to go for a longer ride this week. So that's good.

Had a skinful of wine on Friday and an indulgent night yesterday at dinner with friends - wine and a chocolate brownie. But overall, I had a good week so I have got away with it.

Weighed in at 12st 2 lbs this morning so that is 3lbs lost last week. I am pretty motivated by the thought of finally seeing an 11 on that display for the first time in a yer or so.

How is everyone else doing?

lastqueenofscotland · 14/09/2015 11:59

Had a 3 day vv indulgent weekend and crept up a lb, but thats still 5lbs down in 2 weeks, and id not have changed a moment of the weekend i had for the world.

MissFitt68 · 15/09/2015 14:26

My next issue is running out of low carbing food before I next get paid!

Got tons of eggs and courgettes though

OP posts:
ShutUpLegs · 15/09/2015 17:49

Courgette frittatta it is then.

Managed another run this morning. AM cold and hungry now though....

MissFitt68 · 16/09/2015 17:58

Has everyone turned to the biscuit tin?

I was weighed/measured by my BOOTCAMP instructor on Monday. Have attended 2 sessions and done 2 runs this week. Apart from the weekend I've stuck to low carb and now lost 12lbs. Really happy with this

This mornings booty concentrated on legs and abs so will be aching tomorrow big time! I'm also on a run of 5 9 hour shifts at work. So that should keep me busy!
