September 1st... Pounds and inches... Back on it, who is in??

MissFitt68 · 31/08/2015 22:56

That's it now, the fun is over! I'm not feeling or looking my best. I've slipped up and fallen off the healthy wagon

So I'm jumping back on!!

Tomorrow morning I will restart the eating ( low carb I think) and will take my measurements ( for when the pounds dont budge, the inches usually will)

30 minutes minimum exercise daily.... Yes, let's MAKE time. It's an episode of emmerdale/eastenders

Weigh in and measuring on Saturday mornings

Done this before, lost 5 stone.... Put 2 back on. It's NOT staying!

Anyone want to join in? Have had these monthly threads in the past and had some great success

I'm still here though still fretting over which blooming plan to follow! Regardless I am starting again tomorrow after a heavy heavy food weekend, unexpected date night with hubby last night followed by bbq with in laws this aft. I actually feel sick with all the food I have eaten this weekend so maybe I should start 5:2 and have a fast day tomorrow?!

Well done on the weight losses - what a fab start for you both missfitt & lastqueeen

MissFitt68 · 06/09/2015 22:49

Hi all

Glad to see we are all still motivated! School goes back tomorrow so I get a bit more time to myself. Struggled a bit to eat tonight. In fact just had some deli ham. That's it. Only used 1100 of my 1600 calorie allowance. Low carbing does make me lose appetite but going to have to make more effort to eat more. Been drinking water tonight but off to get some peppermint tea now

Hi all. Despite a Sunday blip yesterday, I still managed to loose 3 lb this week! I think it's the not drinking and not eating the 1000cal "snacks" which go with drinking....

17lb to go.....
Good luck everyone

MissFitt68 · 07/09/2015 12:08

Yes, you can't have a drink without something to go with it can you!

Cheese and wine
Coffee and cake
Tea and biscuits

I can't have any of that! I've been out exercising this morning and just had corned beef slices and some cheddar cheese and coffee with cream. I'm full! Prob won't eat again now til dinner time. Got a load of housework to be getting on with,so that's more exercise!

So decided to go for 5:2 and today is my first fast day. Been a toughie as we were at play barn this morning, managed to resist lattes and cake, then went to McDonald's for lunch (DDs request as back at school tomorrow). Sat there nursing a diet coke and a chicken and bacon salad.

Drinking fruit tea now like it's going out of fashion as its freezing here, plus I alway freeze on a fast day.

271 cals left for today so WW fish pie for tea and an apple I think.

Oh yeah and gained 1.5lb over the foody weekend ggrrrrrr

ELR · 07/09/2015 16:48

Sounds like everyone is more determined this week! I had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for breakfast and a small slice of gluten free toast. Lunch was cod in a tomato sauce with spinach, two apricots and a tiny piece of gluten free banana cake. I'm going to make a chilli for tea and will just have a tiny portion of rice or maybe a taco.
How's everyone else doing?

MegBusset · 07/09/2015 18:18

Hi all! I had a terrible weekend foodwise, but it was a fab weekend so worth it - fish and chips on Saturday followed by curry yesterday, and plenty of wine with both!

Anyway I'm back on it today:
Porridge
Cream cheese & marmite roll
Carrot sticks
Apple & banana
Mushroom omelette with tons of veg for tea

ShutUpLegs · 07/09/2015 20:38

5lbs off - but some of that will be accounted for by the arrival and departure of my period i.e., 12st 10lbs was probably a bit overstated to start with as I came on a couple of days after weigh in.

Anyway - no alcohol all week, plenty of veg and I finally got out and did some exercise over the weekend. Not MFPing as well as I should though...

Onwards!

MissFitt68 · 07/09/2015 20:40

It's still a loss! Yes,onwards!

Can I join too, I'm constantly yo yo ing!
Have about 10-14 lbs to get to my goal...again.
Have tried EVERY diet over the years, now doing mfp.
I've lost and gained this 7-14 lbs a zillion times.
I don't have a stop button on my appetite and like a tipple.
I also like exercise.
Fingers crossed again!

grumpygertie · 07/09/2015 22:16

Finished my 500 cal day on 514! So pleased with that.

grumpygertie · 08/09/2015 07:54

Weigh in after fast shows a 1.8lb weight loss. Next fast day is Thursday.

Bit of cake due later this morning, DD back at school today and we are all quite emotional as I love having her at home. Her little bro is gonna miss his playmate too Sad

MissFitt68 · 08/09/2015 10:00

Quick weigh in today I'm at 91.6! And it's day 8. 9lb loss in 8 days. Very pleased with that

I didn't use a keto to see if I'm still in ketosis but I will check later

Today might be difficult as I'm making cottage pie for dinner for the kids of course! But I plan to go on the cross trainer at some point and carry on Low carbing rest of the day

Well done everyone on your losses!

I weighed myself this morning and am exactly 10 stone, which is depressing but about what I thought it would be.

I'm aiming to lose 1 1/2 stone, but may revise that later depending on my measurements. I want to build muscle as well as shift fat, as I want to get fit not skinny Smile I'm aiming for 1lb a week, so should reach target by early February.

My rules are:
No snacks
No seconds
No more than 4 portions of sweet things per week (fruit & yogurt excepted)
At least three alcohol-free days per week
DH & I are also reducing portion sizes, as they've started to creep up a little...

I used to do indoor rock climbing a few years ago, so hoping to take that up again, and will swim twice a week.

What exercise are other people doing?

patterkiller · 08/09/2015 11:55

I stayed the same this week, but I did have an unexpected full n fun weekend.

I'm trying to cut carbs as they only seem to make me hungrier. I'm upping my exercise and maybe throwing it a fast day.

MegBusset · 08/09/2015 13:08

I'm doing the Shred, experience tells me it's the easiest exercise to fit in every day and stick to over time. I used to run and enjoyed it but it's much more time-consuming and now that I work four days a week I just can't fit it in.

grumpygertie · 08/09/2015 13:30

I have tried every diet going missfitt WW, SW, Atkins, the hospital diet (14lbs in 10 days), slim fast, hay diet blah blah blah - the only one any good was weight watchers. Lost 2 stone for wedding 7 years ago then lost a stone or so pre DC2 but I had time back then to weigh and measure. It's harder now trying to do family meals with 2 kids, one of which is a fussy eater, and point everything up - I just can't be bothered. I have come to the conclusion it's easier to restrict myself severely for 2 days a week rather than restrict myself moderately for all 7 Grin

Just going to make an effort to be mindful on my 'normal eating' days and eat better generally.

megbusset I was thinking about digging my shred dvd box set out - think there were some of Jillians other torture titles in there too. I go to three classes a week anyway that are pretty hardcore but would be good to step things up a little at home too. Maybe I should go dig shred out and join you?!

I am at york races 10th October and have a dress to wear which could look better shred may help achieve this?!

MissFitt68 · 08/09/2015 14:43

It's London marathon ballot results in about 4 weeks. Will be amazed if I get a ballot place but I really want to get back on it and have something to train for! Going for a run tonight with my 7 year old ds but it will be a short one

I really need a goal, half marathon is ok ish to aim for, I guess I'll train up for a new PB

OP posts:
MissFitt68 · 08/09/2015 14:45

Shred, yes it's great for results! Highly recommend

I found it hard work tho. Every night having to move the furniture and Hoover first!

Haven't read the whole thread, but after years of yo-yo dieting, I think I've finally cracked it. Basically this is what I'm doing:

Burning off more calories than I eat.

So I'm keeping an eye on what I eat (via MFP), but also an eye on what I'm burning (Fitbit). I'm aiming for 500 cals under per day, but as long as I'm under, then I'll be losing. I've worked out that even at 100 cals under per day less than I need, then I'd lose a pound a month, or almost a stone in a year. And it's quite easy, as you don't have to stop eating anything at all, just make sure you don't eat too much. I have cut right down on sugary snacks though, which obviously are very high in cals.

Sorry if I'm making this sound simple, but it makes sense. Off for 30 minute brisk walking to burn off a few more so I can have a glass or two of wine tonight Smile Wine

MegBusset · 09/09/2015 07:48

9st 2lb this morning. One pound down for my September target, two to go!

Good day yesterday:
Porridge
Veg soup and cream cheese roll
Fish pie (Sainsbury's BGTY) and veg
Plums and carrot sticks

patterkiller · 09/09/2015 08:08

Brilliant meg you will do that no problem.

MissFitt68 · 09/09/2015 08:36

Mm veg soup! I really want that now! Wonder if there are any good low carb recipes out there

I'm on day 1 of 5 9 hour shifts. My job is fairly physical so I use it as a free workout, my colleagues tend to leave all the heavy stuff to me as a result! Lightweights. I'm so knackered at the end of the day it's an effort to cook, but I do try

Tonight it's chicken wrapped in bacon and cream cheese, with stir fried green veggies. Lunch is salami and cottage cheese and breakfast was just a couple of eggs.

Good luck today everyone!
