Nearly a stone in 2 weeks, that's amazing. Keep going and let us know how you get on.

lemonstartree · 02/07/2015 09:59

Really well done Wisteria , that is amazing !

I am planning a shopping trip the week before my holiday - that's 2 1/2 weeks from now - hoping to have lost another 10 lbs or so by then ...

went out last night with some friends I have not see for ages, did not drink as I was driving but did eat a (smallish) curry and rice. It was LOVELY ! but I am over the 10 st mark again today ( only just) but I paid for that curry !

back on diet strictly today ..

keep going everyone

boxofholes · 02/07/2015 10:30

lemonstartree me too! (well back over the 12 anyway) ... I have faith it will come off quickly :)

AnImpalaCalledBABY · 02/07/2015 13:43

Hi everyone, is it ok if I join in here?

I'm on day 3 and I think ketosis has kicked in Grin I've done vlcd's before but things have reached crisis point with my weight now so I am determined make this work

You all sound so focused and your losses have been fab Smile

ThatsWotSheSaid · 02/07/2015 19:13

welcome an impala The more the merrier! Grin
How are you finding it so far?

AnImpalaCalledBABY · 02/07/2015 21:32

Thanks wot Smile I'm finding it ok so far, I wasn't expecting to be in ketosis until tomorrow so it's a nice bonus that it happened this morning! I've got some really lovely products from different places so that helps a lot

I'd forgotten how much the constant peeing sucks though Grin

boxofholes · 03/07/2015 08:23

hi Impala!

Well week one weigh in - 7lbs down. I think it is probably more than that due to being pre-menstrual & extremely bloated (IBS). I had Tuesday off & a pretty huge calorie count Grin ... am back in ketosis & hoping for a good weekend!

Sallycinnamum · 03/07/2015 12:50

I started exante on Thursday and I'm finding pretty much all of the food completely unpalatable!!

I tried the cocount shake which I had to throw away as it was making me gag and the mushroom and ham pasta was just dreadful.

I've lost 3lbs in two days because once I manage to get the food down it's definitely filling me up but so far, I just can't seem to stomach most of it. However, I'm determined to carry on. Does anyone actually enjoy any of the exante products?

I need to shift a stone but the way I'm going I reckon I'll only last a week unless I find something in the box I actually enjoy!

zeis10 · 03/07/2015 14:27

Hello AnImpalaCalledBABY how is it going for you?

Sallycinnamum sorry to hear that! I guess I find the Exante quite varied, but there are some things I just love. The shakes are all different. Cherries and berries was nice and sweet and fruity and I love the chewy bars, not mad on tomato soup, mushroom is pretty good and just LOVE the veggie curry. What else you got there to try? Smile

Am doing well here, 11 stone now, so have lost 20 lbs so far on my VLCD in 5 and 1/2 weeks and 30 lbs total this year. Bra expander is in the bin (yay!!) and I am going out tonight wearing a brand new shirt, that I bought about 3, or 4 years ago that was a bit tight (intending to slim a bit into it...) and I have never yet worn! Ready for my shorts now!

Vital statistics are still huge, tho have now lost 8" from my waist. Smile xx

Sallycinnamum · 03/07/2015 19:25

I'm going to try the curry tonight. I'm bracing myself!!

Like I say, I've only got a stone to lose but I need fast weight loss to spur me onto losing more.

I'm looking forward to getting back into my old clothes again!!

zeis10 · 03/07/2015 19:25

Sallycinnamum you will likely lose a stone in a month or less!

OP posts:
Sallycinnamum · 04/07/2015 08:33

I tried the curry last night and it wasn't too bad. But I've had the raspberry porridge this morning and just about got it down.

I am absolutely dying for a cuppa. Will one with milk stop or prevent ketosis?

lilacblossomtime · 04/07/2015 08:47

I've heard a few people saying they are still having milk in tea, although not recommended by Exante. Another way is to add a little sweetener to black tea until you get used to it black. I have also heard of lots of people adding coffee to the vanilla shakes.

zeis10 · 04/07/2015 09:42

I love the raspberry porridge, tho the plain is also nice and more creamy...people go crazy for the smell of it in our house..lost on me as I have no sense of smell!

AnImpalaCalledBABY · 04/07/2015 14:53

Afternoon everyone, thanks for the lovely welcome Smile

I'm assuming everyone finds it a bit harder at weekends and it's not just me?! I feel pretty good though, day 5 for me and well into ketosis so not feeling hungry at all

I've been mixing and matching products to try lots of new flavours and some of them are gorgeous, I've got some bars coming today as well as their new pudding flavours so fingers crossed they're nice. I'm mostly having stuff from saints and slimmers at the moment, their ready made shakes, muffins and salted caramel bars are just gorgeous

I don't drink much tea/coffee but when I do I do still have it with milk, I just count the calories/carbs in my fitness pal to make sure I'm still under my daily limits

Zeis, 20lbs in just over a month is fantastic! You must be feeling great Grin

boxofholes · 05/07/2015 09:50

no change today - 11st13 ... at least I'm under that blasted 12st mark!

I'm going to add a low calorie/low carb meal in instead of one replacement - they really don't agree with me (I'm incredibly constipated - tmi!).

Sallycinnamum · 05/07/2015 10:00

I caved in and had a cuppa this morning. In my defence I, feeling dreadful-think I have ketosis flu, so I needed something to perk me up. I'll probably pay for it tomorrow.

Still struggling with the food though. I'm not hungry at all but tried exante pizza last night and that was foul too. Think I'm going to order a weeks work of chocolate bars and sell the other products on ebay.

So far I've only been able to eat the bars and the curry!!

zeis10 · 05/07/2015 11:00

Sallycinnamum so sorry to hear that! What have you left..I might buy them? ...veggie only mind.

Hello everyone. I am awaiting my exante pack which they seem to have had a run on because it should have got here last Friday and is still processing. Grrrr. So annoying when you are wanting to crack on.

I have an operation coming up and want to shift a significant amount of puffage beforehand. Dr has told me to up my steps to 15,000 a day too.

Waiting on my pedometer coming through for that but feel I may be in for a shock Grin. Still ........I have ordered a pair of scarlet Fly 'walking' shoes to cheer things along Wink

I have done Exante before and it works brilliantly. I know this sounds weird but I found that when I lost a lot of weight a couple of years ago I was actually a bit scared of being 'thin' as I never have been in my adult life. I was completely out of my comfort zone. That was really unexpected to be honest and is probably indicative of how fast the change was. At the moment I am an apple size 16-18 and want to get down to a comfortable twelve. I have that sort of frame that gets stick thin in the arms and legs before anything seems to shift from around the middle so soon resemble a fat pigeon. Grin

I find giving up diet Pepsi the hardest thing on this diet though. With respect to products the ones I wouldn't have again-
Any of the soups. Without exception gag-worthy. They did this spag carb dish that was revolting too. Most of the savoury is an avoid for me to be honest apart from the shepherds pie and curry.

My favs of old were the porridge, shakes ( although that raspberry and lemon concoction did make me heave) and the choc/orange bars. The choc one could do with a rethink mind as it really is unlike any chocolate I have ever had.

Does anyone find the bars don't fill them up as much as the shakes do? In preparation I have drastically cut back on calories and have upped my water intake so it hopefully it won't be so much of a shock to the system.

lilacblossomtime · 06/07/2015 08:37

Good luck with it when it comes dee interesting to hear they can be so slow, probably with bearing in mind. The pizza looks interesting have you tried that, a bit plain with just tomato sauce though, would be better with a few toppings if you were on one of the plans that add some real food. I also read some people mixing two meals and using half of the pizza mix with half the sausage mix to make a burger bun with burger.
I still haven't started yet as I am just not sure but have now read loads on the subject! The health risks put me off a bit as well as the diet being so strict, but then I see people doing great on it and feeling healthier than in ages. Money is also a consideration as exante does fit in my budget, but only if I buy a bumper pack so I would have to stick with it and very little cheating.

Sallycinnamum · 06/07/2015 11:36

I'm going to give it another week Zeis and I'll see how I go but I'll definitely bear you in mind if I sell the remaining packs.

I had the pizza on Saturday night and it was a struggle to eat tbh. The pizza itself was bearable but the tomato sauce was blurghhhh!

I had the curry again last night, which is ok and I had a choc shake for breakfast and having the chicken soup for lunch.

I don't think I'm ever going to go into full ketosis because I just cannot give up the tea (and I had a few grapes last night too) but the weight is shifting. I was 11.2 last Monday, I started the diet properly on Friday and I'm 10.11 now.

I'm going to carry on this week and into next week but I've got a party on saturday night, and I will have a glass of wine. There's no use pretending I'll stick to water because it isn't going to happen!

The hunger has tailed off, as has the carb flu, which was just awful at the weekend but if I can get down to 10.3 I'll be happy. Not sure how realistic that is in a week and a half though.

mazzyboo37 · 06/07/2015 14:10

ThatsWotSheSaid · 07/07/2015 12:51

Hello and welcome mazzyboo37
So the weight loss has really slowed I've lost 1lb in the last week :0(
ive lost a lot so I just have to focus on the bigger picture.
How is everyone else?

lemonstartree · 07/07/2015 20:12

Hi to all new VLCDieters. It's great to have companions on this road !,

I'm three weeks in and have only lost 11 lbs, this is because I have cheated for the last weekend and been drinking wine on and off for the last 10 days. bUT I am happy with the weight loss of about 0.8lbs a day if I don't cheat at all. I started with a BMI of about 27 so I don't expect to lose that quickly ... Those 11lbs have made a big difference to Me though ...

Goal weight is 9 St though I will be happy with anything below 9 St 7 ... Trying to get there by 25th July ... 12 lbs to go to GW ...
