Have recently let half a stone creep on (reckon due to the pill) and want to lose it over the next 6 weeks!
No drastic diet plan as such as want to keep it off! Anyone want to join me in my six week journey???Grin

8 miles - that is amazing! Was that on the road or treadmill? I would love to get up to that distance but my max is 8k right now.

bangersmashandbeans · 05/05/2015 17:25

It was on the road, some off road. No way I could do it on the treadmill - I'd die of boredom! 5k is my max in the gym.

It was the furthest I've ever run so am really proud. Started running end of last year and have surprised myself with what I can do. Have decided to sign up to a half marathon which is huge for me so am nervous but excited about the training!

readyforsunshine · 05/05/2015 18:36

So you should be v proud bangers, it's a huge achievement, an achievement many of us have no chance of meeting! Good on you signing up, we'll support you in your training x

Good work Joycey and good luck with weigh in.
Menu today
Home made smoothie
8 mile run!
2 pizza slices
Banana bread
Lamb meatballs and rice
Low cal ice lolly

I don't have a set day for weigh in but I've been between 9.4 and 9.7 the last week or more so feel happy that I'm a solid 3lbs down and maybe a bit more Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 06/05/2015 06:44

I'm definitely back on it today Smile I honestly feel rubbish when I've been eating crap.

bangersmashandbeans · 06/05/2015 06:46

Weigh in saying 9st 4lbs this morning! SmileSmileSmile

SpottyTeacakes · 06/05/2015 07:16

Well done bangers! I'm about the same, maybe 1lb more, than before I went away. Still less than when I started though and just under 9st. That's enough to spur me on today. Your user name always makes me hungry though Grin

Penguinotterfoxbadger · 06/05/2015 08:29

Well done bangers that's fab!

I'm feeling massively disheartened. Yesterday was going really well until I got to work. Another stressful day & it was a late shift which doesn't help as my will power just plummets after 10pm. Ended up eating a chocolate bar at about 10.30 (everyone else has left so I was alone in the office finishing my stuff up) and then couldn't sleep when I got home so got up and ate. I was doing so well the first couple of weeks but lately there seem to be as many bad days as there are good. I'm so pissed off with myself!

Twinklestar2 · 06/05/2015 09:16

Quick post to add yesterday's menu:

Shredded wheat
11am snack of latte and cereal bar
Lunch was sandwich thins, sausage and baked beans
Dinner was chicken fajita with some rice and salad on the side
Twirl and a crumpet as a snack

I need to get out for a run!!

readyforsunshine · 06/05/2015 09:51

Great weigh ins spotty & bangers! Hope yours went well joycey.
Penguin do you think it's hunger or boredom /stress? Perhaps if you know the cause it'll be easier to remedy & you can forward plan to combat the tough times. Please don't get disheartened, any healthy change is good for you long term regardless of what the scales are saying. Perhaps for the time being focus on the positive & take it 1 step at a time. Imagine how you'd like your diet to look eventually then change 1 thing each week. Just think in just 1 month you could for example increase your water, drink alcohol 1 day less a week, have added as many veg to every meal you eat each day you can, add an oily fish meal to your week. Eventually this will translate to weight loss because your body will be getting what it needs & each change you make will squeeze out a bit of the bad stuff. You can do this penguin, it's your body!

SpottyTeacakes · 06/05/2015 19:22

Ok so no snacking today (yay me)

Greek yog blueberries honey

bangersmashandbeans · 06/05/2015 19:40

Good going spotty. I was doing well until I decided I couldn't possibly let overripe bananas go to waste and made banana muffins AngryAngry

They're 180 cals each and I've already demolished two and the night is still young!!!!

Other than that I've had shreddies, tiny portion of leftover risotto, chicken and veg for dinner so not too bad I guess.

Running 10k in the morning hopefully

SpottyTeacakes · 06/05/2015 19:44

I love banana muffins! Dd keeps going on about me making carrot cake but I know I'll want to eat it all.

Hi there, hope it's OK if I join in.
I have been losing weight since Feb (start weight 16 stone, target 12 stone) by just making a few lifestyle changes. I have been losing a consistant 2lbs per week so far, just over one and a half stone down, just over 2 stone to go. I hope to achive this by the end of the year with a stretch goal of achiving it by the time my daughter goes to school in August.

My lifestyle changes are:

? Cutting out snacks (Giving up chocolate as a snack has helped a lot in this as not having chocolate as a snack reduces the snacks available so much that it stops me snacking).
? Using stairs instead of lifts.
? Using the bicycle instead of the car for journeys under a mile.
? Not drinking at home during the week.
? Padding sandwiches out with Salad and main meals out with veg.
? Drinking lots of liquids during the day, if you feel hungry drink first and wait 10 minutes (mainly no added sugar squash).

I created an excel spreadsheet to help me monitor and calculate activity and consumption which has helped me a lot.

Typical weekday looks like this ("/" means or not and):

Breakfast
2 x Toast (malted danish bread) with low fat spreadable butter and Marmalade / Fruit "sachet" porrige (like OatSoSimple) made with skimmed milk.

Snacks
None, just drink something if I feel peckish.

Lunch
2 x Ham Salad Sandwich thins (use Dijon mustard and no butter)/ Flavoured Tuna and Salad Bowl (by varying the flavour of tuna and salad bowl variety it keeps it interesting)
Proppercorn / Velvet Crunch / Quavers

Dinner
Whatever the rest of the family is having, just exercise a little portion control and pile on the veg if possible and always have a soft drink with it.

Drinks
Tea/ Coffee
No added sugar squash (I drink litres of this through the day)

SpottyTeacakes · 07/05/2015 09:30

That's a great weight loss and is exactly what we're all trying to do here.

I'm going to toddler group this morning. Unlimited free cake. If I have some I won't have lunch.

SpottyTeacakes · 07/05/2015 19:13

I avoided the cakes!

Blueberries Greek yog honey

Five crackers with a scraping of pátê
Pepperami Blush
Cheerios no milk

Cup of veg oxo (I know it's odd but it's low cal and I like it)

Bolognese pasta bake one piece of garlic bread
A few pieces of fresh pineapple

Two coffees
Squash

Twinklestar2 · 07/05/2015 22:55

Today's menu

Shredded wheat
Egg, bacon medallions, beans and a sandwich thin
Homemade burger and chips for dinner
Snacked on a crumpet, popcorn, 2 yoghurts, glass of wine and a oaty biscuit thing covered in chocolate

bangersmashandbeans · 08/05/2015 07:55

Well done spotty on cake avoidance!

Yesterday I ate:
Dry shreddies
Skinny glorious soup with soda bread
Banana muffin
Slice of pizza
Greek salad with pitta and tzatziki
Few squares of chocolate

readyforsunshine · 08/05/2015 13:05

Yesterday I got seriously derailed!
Smoothie, out with a friend who wanted to stop for lunch. Was v limited choice, had a blt, lots of white bread , Mayo & ketchup! Had another of ds cookies, a humous & roasted veg wrap then came home late & cooked sausage, bacon, egg, beans, tomatoes & toast for the family. & I had the lot too!!
Am away for the w/ e so Monday's weigh in doesn't look good.
