Since I want somewhere to track my progress I'm gonna do it here and have it act as a support thread for anyone else who wants to join me - because it certainly feels daunting and we can use all the help we can get!

I am 5 foot nothing and post DS (almost 6 months) I weigh (as of this morning) 95.2kg which I believe is around 14.5stone, but I avoid using st and lbs as I find it triggering. I would like to be back down to my pre-baby weight of circa 80kg by BiL's wedding in June. So...

HippyJess
SW: 95.2kg
GW1: 80kg (June)
GW2: 68kg (September)
UGW: 58kg (March 2016)

Short Term Goal: Do Davina's 15 Minute Fit every day for a week, starting today. I did it, and some of the easy versions were hard :( which is why I need to keep going.

Hope someone out there will want to join me! Hoping to post once a day to keep myself on track :) now off I go to make myself an omelette and veggies for lunch!

Can I join you all? I'm starting today. I'm 37 and a SAHM with 5 DC. I weighed myself this morning and am 14 st Sad. Since my first DC was born, I've just gradually gone up through comfort/stress/tiredness eating. I'm going to use MFP because DH started this a few months ago and it's worked really well for him. I've never really dieted or lost weight before and it feels quite overwhelming.

OnMyShoulders · 17/08/2015 09:33

Meant to add that I'm 5"3in so needing to lose about 5st I suppose Sad.

vickibee · 17/08/2015 09:41

Onmyshoulders - 5 DC must keep you very busy! of course you are welcome - the more the merrier.
Break your weight loss down into smaller chunks -that's why it feels overwheming.I find setting a realistic target of x pounds by such and such a date is far easier to cope with. Good Luck

Please can I join you all? I was weighed at hospital last week and was shocked to be told my weight has crept up to 17st 11lbs!! I am 5"4.

I need to drastically change my diet and stop thinking of food as a "treat".

My first target is to get back to 15st but ideally I'd like to be back at 10st which is over 7 stone to lose :( I really want to make this weight loss work as it would be beneficial for my overall health and if we need IVF I have seen I need to be in a healthy BMI range.

Well done SFB!! That's fantastic.
Welcome shoulders and sailing.
I caught bbc breakfast this morning, and a woman who was 17 stone lost 7 stone. She had diabetes. It can be done.
I've lost 1.5lbs. I was going to the gym tomorrow but I have a sore chest and throat. Which isn't good. Hopefully it was wine related and will go away tomorrow. Our kids went back to school today so I have a little free time again!

Thanks for the welcome. Smile

Mmm. The DC do keep me busy but they are also the main contributing factor for the comfort/stress/tiredness eating!

Breaking it down is a good idea. As I'm starting on a round number, even a lb loss will take me down to 13st something, so I think my first goal is going to be to lose 15lb before our holiday in 8 weeks. 12st something sounds so much better than something with a 'teen' at the end!

I've had a headache that won't shift today which I'm putting down to the absence of sugar. Does anyone have any tips for dealing with this type of headache? Paracetamol doesn't seem to work on it.

Also, I need to buy some digital scales as I'm struggling to read the ones I have at the moment. Are there any that are particularly good or are they much the same?

SFB - It is imposs to gain 5Lb in one day, reckon your scales must be playing up.

I have some WW digital scales, they do allsorts like calc BMi and body fat % but haven't got a clue how to use it so just use the weigh function. My Wii fit sports also has a weight function but it only does kilograms, oldie here stones, pounds and ounces for me.
You may be dehydrated Shoulders - try diarolyte sachets in a glass of water

Stellar67 · 18/08/2015 12:53

SFB I try and weigh in once a week. Or it just gets me down. I would go up and down by 3-4llbs in a day.
Shoulders, if you feel you ate a lot of sugar, maybe just cut it down a little every week? Sugar is addictive. I got sore heads when I cut out coffee, so I reduced it slowly. Now I just have one small cup a day.
Kids have gone back to school and I had all my exercises and diet planned. Rotten cold appeared and so I am just working on the eating healthy bit.

LondonHuffyPuffy · 18/08/2015 18:57

Hello everyone. I have been away for a few days camping. Had a brilliant time but ate and ate and ate and drank and drank and drank. I dare not get on the scales

I can definitely lose/ gain 4 to 5 lbs in a day. It's often water weight - 1 litre of water weighs a kilo. So if you drink 2 litres of water after you have weighed yourself your weight will change by 4.4lbs

That's why I like to weigh myself when hungover (dehydrated)

I'm just back from 5 boozy days away. I'll look at the scales tomorrow morning through my fingers Grin

LondonHuffyPuffy · 18/08/2015 22:14

Ha! But is it your 'real weight'... because water weight is not fat so obvs hungover dehydrated weight must be true, right?!

Camping was brilliant. Thoroughly recommended for a proper long weekend of chillaxing. But there's something about eating outdoors which makes you eat a billion times more crap! Ah well, back on it from today. Don't think I'll be at goal weight by the time I get to LA though

LondonHuffyPuffy · 18/08/2015 22:17

Ohh and I gained 1.9kg between Friday morning and this morning.

sigh

LondonHuffyPuffy · 18/08/2015 22:58

I hope your scales are not as mean as mine, Downtown Grin
