Since I want somewhere to track my progress I'm gonna do it here and have it act as a support thread for anyone else who wants to join me - because it certainly feels daunting and we can use all the help we can get!

I am 5 foot nothing and post DS (almost 6 months) I weigh (as of this morning) 95.2kg which I believe is around 14.5stone, but I avoid using st and lbs as I find it triggering. I would like to be back down to my pre-baby weight of circa 80kg by BiL's wedding in June. So...

HippyJess
SW: 95.2kg
GW1: 80kg (June)
GW2: 68kg (September)
UGW: 58kg (March 2016)

Short Term Goal: Do Davina's 15 Minute Fit every day for a week, starting today. I did it, and some of the easy versions were hard :( which is why I need to keep going.

Hope someone out there will want to join me! Hoping to post once a day to keep myself on track :) now off I go to make myself an omelette and veggies for lunch!

Heh! It's delicious, honest... although a bright orange colour like Irn Bru.
2 parts aperol, 3 parts prosecco, 1 part soda water. Add a slice of orange to go towards your five a day. Practically healthy. MFP claims it is only 40 cals a glass, but I have large measures. Ahem.

I often add more water than that to my bucket glass to make it go further.

I have genuinely thought about stockpiling prosecco, but don't have the willpower not to drink it if it is in the house.

vickibee · 11/08/2015 11:43

I generally don't drink alcohol - except on holiday where I had loads of vodka based delicious cocktails ( i think it I like it as you can only taste the juices) I have never tried prosecco - I can honestly say I don't like wine or champagne. I do like pimms and lemonade

Stellar67 · 11/08/2015 12:35

Prosecco shortageBlushBlushBlushBlush Better start stockpiling!
I've been good so far. Apart from water intake. That's not easy. Our kids go back to school next week so am hoping for a better routine then.

Made my Scotch Broth tonight for dinner. Bowl and a half for about 200 cals and DH had (I think) 3 massive bowls. I also boxed up 15 portions for the freezer of about the same amount as a tin of soup each. There were about double or treble the usual amount of leeks as I needed to use them up as we're going away for a week. The soup was fab, even though I say so myself.

DowntownFunk · 11/08/2015 20:37

PS I love prosecco and champagne

Would you mind sharing your scotch broth recipe, Downtown? It sounds great. I would have to add chilli and spice for DH as he is incapable of eating anything that doesn't set your head on fire, but being able to portion it up is a great plan, especially for winter. Am starting to get nervous about maintaining my weight loss when winter comes.

Brains - what an ace way to relieve the teething blues! I have a great image in my head of you and DS getting your groove on

DH and I are planning a trip to LA at the end of September so I am now in ultra-hardcore mode to shift my last 11.4kg by then. Walking walking walking. I should be down to a "normal" weight by then or at least very close to it. Fingers crossed.

Will still be fat by LA standards Grin

We're going camping in Suffolk this weekend with some friends and their kids. I'm going to have to go for really long walks to stop myself from eating and drinking too much!

vickibee · 12/08/2015 10:55

Huffy - I thought the whole of USA were supersized? fattest nation on Earth? Have a great time.

I noticed by seat belt on the plane had several inches of slack this year and I fitted in the seat without the arms digging in my sides. I was close to asking for an extension last year which would have been very embarrassing

I think a lot of the US is supersized, but in the big cities in California people are super health conscious and especially in LA because of the movie industry. Ugh. Am already also panicking about not being able to smoke anywhere! We're staying with friends, so Florida wasn't an option this time round... maybe next year!

I am looking forward to flying this year. Last year we went to see DH's family in SA and I was so uncomfortable.

Good luck with your offroading today, brains. I reckon, given how well you have done, that you will easily do 1st 3lb between now and 16 October

DowntownFunk · 12/08/2015 14:02

I get my biggest couldron pot and put a little oil, fry off some diced onions, quite a lot, 2 or 3 large, 200g chopped lamb or chicken, fry off for a little longer then add sliced leeks - 3 or 4, couple of bunches of celery finely chopped, 6 or 7 carrots sliced, turnip (I cook turnip in the micro first to make it easy to peel), a kettle full of boiling water, chicken stock cubes, some salt and cracked black pepper and about a 3rd of a packet of pearl barley which I wash thoroughly before putting in the pot. I let it boil then simmer for half an hour and it is ready. It usually too thick so I top it up with boiled water from the kettle.

I then divide it into portions and work out the calorie value of each on my fitness pal by creating a recipe.

The soup is so chunky and thick you don't need bread. The frozen portions make a quick lunch or dinner. If I have that for one meal and a normal, not too over the top meal for the other, I end up having a low calorie day without being hungry.

Here you go LondonHuffyPuffy. I posted it a while back. I forgot to add that I add parsley too, fresh if I have. I sometimes spice it up too with some chilli flakes or some steak seasoning I have that's nice. I just do that in the bowl though.

DowntownFunk · 12/08/2015 14:06

I'm doing that annoying thing just now where I'm a pound up/pound down every day or so. I should get DH to hide the scales and let me at them once a week or even once a fortnight.

We have a weekend place in another town and we're going there this weekend. I'm going to bin the scales there because they always, always make me a few pounds heavier...and in any case why should I be bothered about a pound or two while I'm away? I meant to chuck em last time but will deffo do it this time.

That soup sounds good SFB.

Years ago I used to make the "zero point" type soups with vegetables and not much else. They were ok but I got thoroughly sick of them and couldn't face one nowadays. I need to have proper soup Grin

vickibee · 13/08/2015 09:52

Downtown - it is counter productive to weight everyday, once a week is enough to see the trend. Daily fluctuations can be so demoralising.

I weigh formally once a week (tonight as it happens) at WW, clearly I haven't been for two weeks cos of holiday. I hope it is not too much of a shock!! Since I returned I have been good so hopefully minimise my gain. My target is to lose 4/5 lb by end of August.

DowntownFunk · 13/08/2015 17:34

I know vickibee, I just can't seem to kick the habit.

vickibee · 13/08/2015 19:41

I have lost a pound and a half according to ww scales, I am shocked as I was piggy on holiday, must have been all the swimming I did in the sea. I will take it happily.

I've made some terrible choices past couple days. Inhaling food and not even thinking about it. Eldest son having issues so I'm comfort eating Hmm
Someone told me to shout out when I was eating something I shouldn't be! Maybe I should try that????

vickibee · 14/08/2015 09:26

Don't beat yourself up, the important thing is to draw a line and start new, consider it a small blip. we tend to focus on negative instead of our achievements.

I have treated myself today to a take away lunch - a Greggs chilli bean flatbread (delicious and filling 329 Kcal).
