Needing to lose 4st+ - support thread!

Since I want somewhere to track my progress I'm gonna do it here and have it act as a support thread for anyone else who wants to join me - because it certainly feels daunting and we can use all the help we can get!

I am 5 foot nothing and post DS (almost 6 months) I weigh (as of this morning) 95.2kg which I believe is around 14.5stone, but I avoid using st and lbs as I find it triggering. I would like to be back down to my pre-baby weight of circa 80kg by BiL's wedding in June. So...

HippyJess
SW: 95.2kg
GW1: 80kg (June)
GW2: 68kg (September)
UGW: 58kg (March 2016)

Short Term Goal: Do Davina's 15 Minute Fit every day for a week, starting today. I did it, and some of the easy versions were hard :( which is why I need to keep going.

Hope someone out there will want to join me! Hoping to post once a day to keep myself on track :) now off I go to make myself an omelette and veggies for lunch!

Well, quite. Why would I drink my calories unless it is fizzy Wine (prosecco v low calorie. Hurrah)

Brains - Glad to hear DS is ok and BLOODY WELL DONE!!! Read back over some of your earlier posts on this thread and look how far you have come.

Re flipflop walking - you might need to change your name to shiteonfeet if you're not careful!

pippistrelle · 05/08/2015 17:17

That's top stuff, Brains. Well done!

So glad to read of the low calorie nature of prosecco, as, otherwise, I would have drunk rather a lot of my calories today. I'm SORRY, Jillian Michaels!

JodieMacdonald31 · 05/08/2015 22:38

Wow 3st. Well done!!

Thanks for the advice :) I'm upping exercise and trying to lower carbs... I can feel a mood swing coming in already.
Ye I agree, walking is great. I already do loads because of the dog :)

Just such a struggle at mo because I've maintained for 7/8 years and now what used to work seems useless.

JodieMacdonald31 · 05/08/2015 22:40

Good look with your picnic btw, apart from the easy access salad summer is the worse time for us dieters Hmm

DowntownFunk · 05/08/2015 22:55

My weight seems to have stalled the last couple of weeks.

I had some Chinese food on Saturday night. Not much, some soup, a handful of chips and one crispy duck pancake.

I was up 4.5 lbs on Sunday morning!!!!!!

I drank water all day Sunday (as well as eating my usual meals) and the 4.5 lbs had thankfully gone by Monday morning again.

The soup was fairly salty, it must have been that.

DowntownFunk · 05/08/2015 22:56

PS Well done SFB Smile

DowntownFunk · 05/08/2015 22:59

Oh I said ODFOD (but spelt out) to the spammer but instead of the second "D" the words were something like "you pyramid seller"...not that bad in the scheme but I suppose the rules are that they delete replies to deleted threads. I had a nice email from HQ. Not sure if this one will also be deleted

siiiiiiiiigh · 05/08/2015 23:49

(For the first time ever!)

Good for you. Wow. Wha a gift you've given yourself, you are just amazing.

pippistrelle · 07/08/2015 09:56

And to think I complained about a measly one pound off for the past two weeks - just half a pound this week. I know it's the right direction, and there have been birthday meets and treats this week, so it's not surprising, but it's still frustrating. Holiday next week too. I need my routine back.

DowntownFunk · 07/08/2015 10:09

3/4 of a pound off here bringing my total to 16.5 lbs.

I'd really like to get rid of another 4.5 lbs in the next couple of weeks.

LondonHuffyPuffy · 07/08/2015 13:40

I am trying to give up weighing myself. The ups and downs are just too freaking depressing!

Nice work with the spammer, Downtown

vickibee · 07/08/2015 13:48

Hi Guys - checking back in after my fabulous holiday (apart from the flight home - a 9 hour delay thanks to Greek air traffic controller strike). I have definitely over indulged - a think I have gained 3/4 pounds (my scales not very accurate) I will have to see at WW meet next Thurs.

I am starving right now as I have been eating more for the past week. There is a social event at work tonight where the food is meat & potato pie and mushy peas which sounds yummy but I will have to resist temptation and eat before I go.
Well done Brains - 3 stones is impressive.

DowntownFunk · 07/08/2015 13:52

keep easyloss is an app I've downloaded on my phone with hypnosis sessions and four guidelines, drink water, eat when hungry, eat slowly, stop when no longer hungry. There's a great FB support page. It's not a diet so no counting, though I cheat at that bit and log everything on MFP.

easyloss.co.uk/virtual-gastric-band/

I haven't done the "surgery" bit. I stick to the first hypnosis session as it works. It's available free on the lite app.

pippistrelle · 08/08/2015 11:09

Welcome back vicki. Glad to hear you had a good holiday, although a nine hour delay is horrible. Hope you're not having too much trouble adjusting to the at home regime, and shunning the pie.

I hate emotional eating. Had some worrying news yesterday, slept badly, forgot breakfast entirely then found myself reaching for the carbs and sugar when I realised I was hungry. I might just take to my bed like an overwrought character in a Victorian melodrama. They didn't even have bananas and shrimps (I mean the foam, sweetie kind, not actual food) to self-medicate with. Plus, the corset made it hard to overeat.

Hi all, I joined this thread months ago then didn't keep it up.
I'm back with motivation. I'd like to lose 2-3 stone.
What's everyone doing? I have a Fitbit but my main issues are evening grazing and wine. HmmConfused

pippistrelle · 10/08/2015 10:40

Prosecco is clearly the answer! Well done, Brains! (And thanks for being nice - I'm just concerned about my elderly mother, 400 miles away, suffering from dementia but still living on her own and insisting she needs no extra help, had a fall, currently in hospital, but physically okay to come home. Not much I can do from here although I have contacted Social Services - and they'll see her today to assess her needs, whether she likes it or not. And off on holiday tomorrow. Luckily one of my sisters is there now, although none of us live close to her.)

Hello Stellar. I'm all about the calories in versus calories out so I count everything I eat, and estimate the energy I use, and aim for a 1000 calorie a day deficit. Late afternoon is my grazing time, but if I can get past that, I'm generally okay. I'm not too much tempted by wine generally but as holiday is in France, I may be revising that in about 48 hours time. Also cheese. And bread. And the massive chocolate aisle in the supermarket. If there were any justice in the world, French people would all be the size of a
maison
but there isn't, so they're not.

Stellar67 · 10/08/2015 10:46

Thanks Pippi, I think 1000 calorie deficit sounds good. I will work on working that out that later.
Sorry to hear about your mum. Glad you have someone there for her. Hope you can enjoy your holiday. And yes, the French should be gargantuan. I would be in the brie aisle, eating my way out of the brie.

Looks like I've started something with the prosecco Grin

We're going to make the international shortage even worse... there was a bad grape harvest in 2014.

You can make it go further by having an Aperol Spritz which is about 80 kcal a glass. Aperol is on special offer in Sainsburys...

[Evil Face emoticon]

Welcome hone vicki, glad you had a great holiday.

Nice to see you again Stellar. I do the same as Pippi - aim for a 1000 to 15000 per day calorie deficit. I am literally walking my arse off!

Sorry to hear about your Mum, Pippi. You can have a hug or some prosecco or even both x

prosecco all round, in fact!
