Needing to lose 4st+ - support thread!

HippyJess · 12/03/2015 12:23

Since I want somewhere to track my progress I'm gonna do it here and have it act as a support thread for anyone else who wants to join me - because it certainly feels daunting and we can use all the help we can get!

I am 5 foot nothing and post DS (almost 6 months) I weigh (as of this morning) 95.2kg which I believe is around 14.5stone, but I avoid using st and lbs as I find it triggering. I would like to be back down to my pre-baby weight of circa 80kg by BiL's wedding in June. So...

HippyJess
SW: 95.2kg
GW1: 80kg (June)
GW2: 68kg (September)
UGW: 58kg (March 2016)

Short Term Goal: Do Davina's 15 Minute Fit every day for a week, starting today. I did it, and some of the easy versions were hard :( which is why I need to keep going.

Hope someone out there will want to join me! Hoping to post once a day to keep myself on track :) now off I go to make myself an omelette and veggies for lunch!

Nice to see this little group growing... and shrinking! Well done for the losses.

I got back on the scales yesterday. Am now down to 87.5kg, although some of that might have been dehydration after a boozy night. I've lost almost the equivalent of a full suitcase Grin

No booze for me until the end of the month, now. Pushing for those size 14 Next jeans.

pippi - hope you had a better day

pippistrelle · 06/07/2015 21:13

A bit better, thanks, Huffy, but my mojo is definitely struggling a bit. It's a battle, isn't it? And I'm not entirely sure why. Ate a bit more than I would have liked, but walked over 20,000 steps, so swings and roundabouts.

Well done, losers. Hope to get back to that myself very soon.

I usually have no trouble avoiding booze as I can take it or leave it, but I'm really craving a glass of red wine.

LondonHuffyPuffy · 06/07/2015 23:30

If you're doing the walking, a few extra calories shouldn't make that much difference, hopefully. Can you tape your lovely size 12 skirt to the fridge?! I've put a size 12/14 pic of me on the fridge... taken 14 years ago so I know that realistically I won't ever quite look like that again but it's good to dream Grin

Flowers for your mojo. Welcome back flowers, obvs

How ironic, I have won a huge box of Thornton Continental Chocs in the school raffle, I will have to give them away (1400 cals in whole box). I can't just have one or two and I just know I will end up eating loads. I think I have had a good week but the scales will tell me tomorrow!!

DowntownFunk · 08/07/2015 20:30

Drop them off with an elderly relative...they might open them and offer you one!

hstar1995 · 08/07/2015 21:56

I've had a fab few days of exercise - a jog and a gym session every day this week. only this is I think I may be working myself too hard - my abs are killing and my legs sore Sad a few rest days ahead I think. Plus I'm hungry a lot more, it doesn't help that my mum brings treats (chocolate, macaroons, cake etc) home from work. of course I haven't got to eat it, but the will power needed is so difficult. I'm home from uni for the summer and I dont buy it in my own house/flat. Homes a different story though. Managed to resist yesterday though and only a small macaroon today, drinking a cup of tea with a little sweetener helps Grin

I completely and utterly blew the diet tonight and right this moment I couldn't care less! Due to London tube strike I met DH at Waterloo, we strolled along the South Bank for a bit then went for dinner at The Real Greek. I ate about 400 gazillion calories of deliciousness.

I will regret this tomorrow. Maybe

vickibee · 09/07/2015 13:06

Don't be too hard on yourself Huffy, what's done is done and resume as you were, we are own worst enemy! I am going out for a meal tom and I try to be good but my friends will lead me astray...

I am in shock, I have lost four pounds this week, I don't know what I have done differently but can I have more of the same.

LondonHuffyPuffy · 09/07/2015 21:33

Thanks both. I got back on track today.

That's brilliant vicki! You must be super chuffed! I hope you have a lovely meal out tomorrow and manage to resist temptation

Back from holiday. Was really good for the first week, then, gave up and stuffed self stupid with carby/boozy/ice-creamy joy.

Lost half a stone.

What's that about?

Confused.

A single pound off for me this week too, but given my lapses last weekend, and weird hormonal weight gain, then I'm okay with that. A whopping 42lbs - 3 stones - in total after 16 weeks. Three quarters of the way to my original target.

Well done to Vicki, and to siiiigh. Might you have actually been more active while on holiday, siiiigh - more walking or swimming perhaps?

vickibee · 11/07/2015 09:27

I was goodish as I had salmon salad with a bread roll when what I really wanted was a sirloin with chips, however I failed on desserts , lemon meringue pie with a dollop of ice cream. Have to compensate today for the dessert.

LondonHuffyPuffy · 11/07/2015 09:31

Wow, siiiiiiigh, I want to go wherever you went!

I am officially no longer obese! I am simply overweight.

24.4kg lost in 16 weeks. I'm off to MOT my car to celebrate Grin

pippistrelle · 11/07/2015 10:07

Vicki - we still have to live our lives. I try to think of it as some sort of training for 'normal' eating - that's what normal is, I guess. Don't eat more than you need to - usually. But every now and then, it won't do any harm.

That's brilliant, Huffy. I'm really pleased for you. Fantastic rate of loss too.

siiiiiiiiigh · 11/07/2015 12:37

Pippistrelle - you're right, it's probably that. We were camping, so, probably a whole lot more walking. I think I need to reflect on how sedentary I actually am - I have developed a habit of losing hours on the computer...

I'm going back to healthy eating on Monday. And, doing way more exercise! And, less time in front of Facebook...

That advice about training for normal eating - that's very wise.

I struggle with portion sizes. All I really know is that a portion is about a quarter of what I'd choose. Does anyone have a guide to what a portion is, or, some sort of measuring spoon thing?

vickibee · 11/07/2015 15:10

Huffy I am so pleased for you. Fabulous news.

There should be a BMI calculator for people who are in the process of losing weight, so that you don't get the priggish lecture every time you check it.
