Needing to lose 4st+ - support thread!

Since I want somewhere to track my progress I'm gonna do it here and have it act as a support thread for anyone else who wants to join me - because it certainly feels daunting and we can use all the help we can get!

I am 5 foot nothing and post DS (almost 6 months) I weigh (as of this morning) 95.2kg which I believe is around 14.5stone, but I avoid using st and lbs as I find it triggering. I would like to be back down to my pre-baby weight of circa 80kg by BiL's wedding in June. So...

HippyJess
SW: 95.2kg
GW1: 80kg (June)
GW2: 68kg (September)
UGW: 58kg (March 2016)

Short Term Goal: Do Davina's 15 Minute Fit every day for a week, starting today. I did it, and some of the easy versions were hard :( which is why I need to keep going.

Hope someone out there will want to join me! Hoping to post once a day to keep myself on track :) now off I go to make myself an omelette and veggies for lunch!

Remember that 1lbs is more than 2 packets of butter.
Even 1 packet of butter (0.5lbs?) off your body is an achievement!

vickibee · 03/07/2015 10:17

I guess in terms of packs of butter my total loss is 63 packs!! the thing is I am only about half way to where I need to be

Well done to members for their losses this week

Ps what has happened to HippyJess who beagn this topic?

LondonHuffyPuffy · 03/07/2015 11:28

vicki - unless you have a delicate stomach, Google "what does 1lb of fat look like". It's icky, but it might help to visualise how much you have lost.

It had me daydreaming about getting all-over body liposuction though...

pippistrelle · 03/07/2015 11:31

You're not ONLY halfway; you're ALREADY halfway. (Sorry, too much Biggest Loser inspirational stuff this week, but so much of this is about what's going on in your head.)

Yes, I wonder about HippyJess/sqigglehead too. She did check in after starting the thread, but I think that was quite a while back now.

vickibee · 03/07/2015 12:00

Just googled the fat - it wasn't what I expected, a yellowy mass as big as a can of tomatoes!! it makes you wonder how it all fits in our body

Thanks for the encouragement - it is really helping !!!

Just catching up, am on holiday with family.

Avoiding (too much) wine, but, the carbs - can't escape them in a tent...

Ugh.

I have a Big Work Thing in September. Am going to not stress for the next 10 days and just enjoy being on holiday, but, not go nuts (i.e., too much wine every night like DH is doing) and get self sorted after we get home.

I can do this.

These girls can. Right?

LondonHuffyPuffy · 04/07/2015 00:45

I'm pretty sure that calories are scared of the sky, so calories consumed outdoors don't count Grin

Have a fab holiday x

Can I please join? I lost 2.5 stone between jan and April but have stopped since and put half a stone back on :(

I'm 5'5, weigh 13 stone 3, and am aiming for 10 stone. Interim goal, 11 stone 13 by end of August (so 17lbs, a tall order in 8 weeks!) . I have a wedding to go to and want to look good.

I'm going to start on Monday with mfp at 1600 and a fitness class. I was doing so well at the start of the year and really want to feel that way again. But I find I need support of others so hopefully this thread will help.

slithytove · 04/07/2015 23:32

Might also start shredding, a very scary process!

Well done, Brains, that's quite a landmark.

You need Bodyglide to stop chafing. Runners and cyclists use it, and it's really good.

Welcome, slithy. Shredding is good because it doesn't take long:I need to get back to it myself, actually.

I was pleased to be wearing a non-vanity sized size 12 skirt today. So, pleased that I then ate ALL the carbs, and some of the chocolate. Back to restraint tomorrow.

Hi can I join in? I've lost 1 stone 13 pounds (so close to my 2 stone awardGrin ) since January with slimming world. Was 16 stone 12 am now 14 stone 13 pounds, and a bmi of 37 (less than when I started). my goal is to be 9 stone 8 so over 5 stone left, it seems so much weight that I need to lose.

My body shapes changing though, I'm getting into size 16 tops for the first time in years. I'm fitter too Smile just seems like such a long journey

pippistrelle · 05/07/2015 18:23

Hello hstar. Welcome. Sounds like your making steady progress, and that's great.

A big well done to mumslife.

And as for me - well, to complement yesterday's carb and chocolate fest, today I turned to those other main food groups - sugar and butter. I have not had two out of control days in a row before (I mean since starting this weight loss thing, not ever. Blimey, practically every day used to be an out of control day.) I think there's a hormonal thing going on as I also feel like shouting and crying simultaneously. Whatever it is, I don't like it.

Shite - I have lost approx one of those cats too, would like to pick it up to see how much we are no longer carrying about?

slithytove · 06/07/2015 13:15

Well lost 2lbs last week so a good start. My total loss is what my toddler weighs and he is a right chunk, can't believe I was carrying that extra weight around!

Did an Aqua aerobics class this morning too :)
