So, I'm changing my life on Monday...

Well, that's what I hope. Am currently overweight. I am tall so can carry it quite well, but I always feel very flabby and am uncomfortable with my size. I have lost weight successfully before so I know I can do it, but have lacked a bit of motivation and willpower in the last year. Gradually my weight has crept up and trying on clothes yesterday was not fun!!

My plan is this:
Food diary - am a mindless eater
Drink more water - tend to eat when I am actually thirsty
Move more - this will be the biggest change. I work FT now and move much less within my everyday life. I now need to factor in exercise as it is no longer part of my day to day life.

I would like to lose 14 pounds in total, but am going to start with 7 pounds as my first goal!

So, anyone care to join me?

Morning all. 10st 1.6 lbs here. Just over a stone to lose. Have taken measurements too. Will 5:2 today so just eat this evening. Have been eating without any self control since mid Dec so slightly nervous about today but drastic action needed to kick start my weightloss. Will be keeping myself very busy today!

MarbleRunner · 23/02/2015 11:49

Hello. Morning weigh-in done. 11stone 1. Much worse than I realised! Starting Ww today. Got a pedometer and have done 5000 steps already. Hopefully it'll be a positive week and the weigh in won't make me groan in quite the same way next week!

Babbit · 23/02/2015 13:14

What height are you marblerunner? I'm about the same weight as you but I'm short.

MarbleRunner · 23/02/2015 13:51

I'm short too. About 5'3. My waist is small but my hips, bum and thighs are generous enough for two people!

countingdown · 23/02/2015 13:54

Can I join you please? 9 stone 10, would like to lose 10lb. Wine is my downfall!!

nikki1978 · 23/02/2015 14:04

Joining :) I have been trying to lose weight for the last 5 years after putting it all back on when I lost 4 stone 6 years ago!

I am 13st 12 and 5ft 3 so need to lose around 4 stone.

I go away on holiday in 12 weeks today so want to be a fair bit lighter by then :)

mothersdaughter · 23/02/2015 16:43

Just arrived home. So hungry! I'm using MFP and it makes you realise it's all amount portions. I've eaten a tiny amount today in comparison to what I'd usually eat and I only have 500 kcals left for dinner.

Starting to realise why I've piled on the pounds already! Blush

ToeFluff · 23/02/2015 17:01

Hiya, mind if I join in too? I have a September deadline and 3 stone to lose, obviously I know that's never gonna happen so aiming for as much as poss insteadGrin

Started following slimming world last week...yet ended up with kebab and wine Friday, pizza and wine on sat and macdonalds Sunday to cope with the hangover. So not the best start!

I've Joined a gym and will be going 3 times a week, will also be doing a meal plan for the whole week to hopefully keep me on track this time!

Runnaway · 23/02/2015 17:06

Am really happy that so many people are joining! Everyone is more than welcome of course!

I have just got in - have found it much easier at work today - have only eaten some sugar snap peas, small portion of pasta with pesto, small banana and small pot of blueberries. I would have been on my third massive chunk of choc by now if I had been at home!!

My downfall is evening snacking though.
What will I do during Broadchurch without something sweet??!!!!

Hope everyone else has had an 'on track' day.
I am going to make tea now. Want to eat my meal a bit earlier than usual so less time to stuff my face with 'bits' beforehand. Waiting to eat with DH does not work.

Can I join - I've got about 2 stone to lose Sad. I am going to try the 5:2 - today porridge for breakfast, soup for lunch. 400 cals already so not sure about dinner.

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 23/02/2015 17:16

I find the opposite, if I eat earlier, there's more evening to snack inGrin

I'm joining in btw, started low carbing on Thursday at 5'6 and 13st4, which is at least two stone more than I ought to be. Bought the pig2twig book last week and finding it v motivational (having dismissed it at the time as band wagon jumping Blush). AF has arrived with a vengeance today so will switch my weigh in day to next Monday so as not to dishearten myself

Runnaway · 23/02/2015 17:19

myvisions I am planning to get a lovely long bath, moisturise etc. to fill that void of snacking time later. I find if I let myself get too hungry I make bad choices!

Shall we all plan to get ourselves a little (non food) treat if we lose on Monday. I was thinking of getting a little bunch of flowers as a little well done to myself - something to look at and remind us of our hard work paying off. What do you reckon?

chocoshopoholic · 23/02/2015 17:49

I've promised myself a new sensationail colour for every 7lbs lost as I only have the ones that came with the kit.

Anomaly · 23/02/2015 18:07

My weight this morning was 139.8 lbs. I was good over the weekend so not as bad as it could have been. Today I've been really good just tracking calories and sticking to around 1200-1300ish.

My downfall is evening snacking too Runnaway. I always save enough calories for a bit of chocolate such as a kit kat. I have it with a cuppa in a nice cup so it feels more like a treat. Sometimes I get snuggled in bed early so I cant be bothered to get a snack.

RunningKatie · 23/02/2015 18:35

Hot chocolate can help with the evening munchies, or painting your nails so you don't want to mess them up with biscuit crumbs.

Definitely think a bunch of flowers sounds like a good idea for a loss on a Monday.

Tonight ds left 3 fishfingers and some cheese. I ate the bit of cheese but within my daily allowance, threw the fishfingers. Go me! Wink

Got my dm here tonight so she'll keep me occupied and away from the snacks.

RunningKatie · 23/02/2015 18:37

myvisions - what is the pig2twig book? I've never heard of that.

I've joined the Davina bandwagon and ordered the 7 min dvd.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 23/02/2015 18:50

I'm joining! :)

I have no idea what I weigh (I've just ordered some scales from Amazon). But I estimate 12 stone. I'm 5'3". Size 14. I want to be 10 stone.

I am about to do the NHS couch to 5K week 1, first run. I'll post when I've done it!

LetMeDriveTheBus · 23/02/2015 19:11

RunningKatie I'm impressed with your will power. I'm terrible for nibbling DC's leftovers.....and I bloody love fishfingers!

LetMeDriveTheBus · 23/02/2015 19:12

Welcome First Smile

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 23/02/2015 19:45

Neris and India's Idiot Proof Diet, and the and forum is the version of low carb I'm doing. The book is good on the emotional side of why we eat how we eat which got us fat.

MrsTatws · 23/02/2015 20:00

Thank you!

I'm done run 1 (actually only 8 minutes running in total and 22 walking, you walk and run in intervals as the podcast tells you) of week 1 complete. Tomorrow I'm beginning a food diary, but I am going out for dinner. Run 2 is on Wednesday, by which time I'm hoping my scales will have arrived, I hope.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 23/02/2015 20:14

Poo! I just posted under my other name. :(

Can you just download couch to 5K? That sounds like something I could fit in. Where is it please?

Runnaway I had a small amount of lemon sorbet this evening. So tangy that I only wanted a small bit, but very sweet too. 2 tablespoons was less than 100 cals
