So, I'm changing my life on Monday...

Well, that's what I hope. Am currently overweight. I am tall so can carry it quite well, but I always feel very flabby and am uncomfortable with my size. I have lost weight successfully before so I know I can do it, but have lacked a bit of motivation and willpower in the last year. Gradually my weight has crept up and trying on clothes yesterday was not fun!!

My plan is this:
Food diary - am a mindless eater
Drink more water - tend to eat when I am actually thirsty
Move more - this will be the biggest change. I work FT now and move much less within my everyday life. I now need to factor in exercise as it is no longer part of my day to day life.

I would like to lose 14 pounds in total, but am going to start with 7 pounds as my first goal!

So, anyone care to join me?

Great marblerunner
I am dreading the weigh in. I actually feel quite nervous!
I have not weighed myself since before Christmas. Total denial!!

Please can I join? Ideally I'd like to lose 17lb. I'm starting with the hypnotherapy gastric band app which is the only thing that stops me grazing non stop through the day and then I'm digging my slimming world books out to give it another go. I'll post my weight and height in the morning Confused

Ledkr · 22/02/2015 15:45

ill join you if I can. I could do with shifting two stones but 1 will do for now.
My clothes don't fit and I just don't dress how I'd like to anymore cos I'm too chubby!!
My confidence is right down too.
I'd like to try the 5 2 but I don't think i would stick it!
I'm going to use Mfp instead and do zumba twice a week as well as dvd at home

Ledkr · 22/02/2015 15:51

Actually I might do slimming world, it's more hunger friendly.

Runnaway · 22/02/2015 16:16

I gained weight on slimming world!!! Really lost loads on weight watchers. I need to be stricter - too much 'free' does not work for me!

And welcome gin and ledkr

Ledkr · 22/02/2015 16:25

I reckon I'd gain too!
I'm very greedy!
I blame my mother who is a bloody feeder!
I was skinny till I met DH, I eat the same portion sizes as him Blush

Runnaway · 22/02/2015 17:03

Yes I was brought up with the 'clear your plate' mentality!! I have a slim mum though! Really no one to blame but myself!

Count me in! I seem to have put on a stone since just before Christmas. Nothing fits me and I'm just eating rubbish with no self control whatsoever. I had planned to start tomorrow so will be great to do this with some company. Will 5:2 tomorrow and possibly Tuesday, eat normally on Weds and then try some juicing Thurs and Fri. I know it sounds pretty hardcore but I need to do something drastic! Firstly I need to regulate my appetite and this has approach has worked for me previously. Let's do it!

MarbleRunner · 22/02/2015 17:30

Anybody else stuffing themselves with kitkats in preparation for tomorrow?!

Runnaway · 22/02/2015 18:32

mrsbrabbit you sound motivated!! I need some of that!!!

marblerunner I may have just eaten a teaser bar.......Grin

OP posts:
RunningKatie · 22/02/2015 19:48

I reckon I weigh 3 stone more than my dh.

In preparation for tomorrow I am already drinking more water and trying to eat a bit more sensibly.

When dh works away I tend to eat too much and exercise very little so now that the evenings are getting lighter and my mood is brightening I have unearthed my hulahoop and will do some sneaky hulahooping whilst the dc's are in bed.

I am wondering whether to measure myself as well as weigh as I think with exercising you can see a difference in your clothes before the scales.

carlywurly · 22/02/2015 20:26

I've tried to be so good today but friends came over with cakes this afternoon and it would have been rude not to... Aargh - I need will, power urgently for tomorrow.

Actually looking forward to the feeling of losing weight again. Feeling full and bloated is so uncomfortable Hmm

Runnaway · 22/02/2015 20:48

Don't worry - you will never weigh what you weigh tomorrow again. Each day you will get lighter.

I'm going to measure too RunningKatie. I've resorted to oversized jumpers and elasticated jeggings to hide my weight gain. Feels horrible to be a stone over my usual weight.

Runnaway · 23/02/2015 07:20

Good morning all!
So, weighed in early as need to get to work pronto today.
Am pretty gutted as I am about five pounds heavier than I imagined my worst case to be. I need to lose 21lbs to feel really slim. However a stone would be great. Good luck all - let's do it.
So far today I have eaten - one bowl of oatso simple porridge.

OP posts:
Babbit · 23/02/2015 08:04

Weighed in at 153.9lbs. Ok as I am having a period so feel heavier than usual. Today I will be following MFP and doing some walking. Having a a steroid injection in my hip so no exercise today.

LetMeDriveTheBus · 23/02/2015 08:49

Weigh in: 175.6 pounds.

Feel cross with myself for putting si much back on. But motivated to feel healthier and better about myself.

Babbit · 23/02/2015 08:57

Well done taking the first step Runnaway and Drivethebus. We all know what to do - now we must do it! I think I'm going to try to cut out alcohol between now and my holiday. Empty calories which don't make me feel better. I think I'm going to try to focus on sleep and exercise and try not to obsess about food. Easier said than done.

chocoshopoholic · 23/02/2015 09:03

Please can I join too, I've been out of control since Christmas.

I'm 5'2" and 11st9. Have more than 14lbs to lose, but that would be a good start!

mothersdaughter · 23/02/2015 09:23

Hi. Quick one for me: weighed in at 10lbs 13 this am

Porridge this am.

RunningKatie · 23/02/2015 10:02

I am going back on mfp, same name on there as on here if anyone wants to be my friend Wink

I have weighed, it's not good, I need to measure now. I've walked the dc's to nursery and playgroup so starting as I mean to go on.

I don't have a pedometer but I've got something that tracks distance walked so will try and find that and charge it up.

Feeling positive, the sun is shining, we can do this!

Ellisisland · 23/02/2015 10:19

Morning all! Can I join in?
I have lost a couple of stones once having my second DS but have 1 more to go and have stalled vainly because I have got lazy and started eating crap again Blush am back on mfp this morning and have downloaded the Davina 7 minute fit and have done one workout this morning.
Weighed in at 60kg this morning but that probably doesn't account for all the food I ate at the weekend !

Like a few others here I have a wedding / holiday to go in 6 weeks so would love to be down to 56kg by then.

Ellisisland · 23/02/2015 10:19
