Does anyone with 1-2st to lose fancy buddying up?

I'm 5ft 5 and am currently 10st 6lb. My clothes are feeling tight and I have stopped wearing jeans in favour of elasticated trousers which is a slippery slope for me.

To cut a long story short, I lost 3st after my twins were born 2.5 years ago. I felt a lot happier and more confident but it's beginning to creep back on as I lost the weight during my turbulent pregnancy so never had to address my bad eating habits. It's catching up with me now and I've put a stone back on and know if I don't address the problem now, it won't be long till the other 2+st is back.

I wondered whether anyone fancied buddying up and we can give each other a nudge, check in on how each other is doing?

Hello, I've been in denial about my weight gain for a while, thinking it would just miraculously fall away Hmm Can I please join your group? I'm 5'6" and weigh 70.2kg, I would love to be nearer 60kg Grin.

I've got 2 DS (no surprise there), eldest is 4 and youngest is 2. I got down to 58kg after DS2 but have slowly gained and not stopped gaining.

I was unhappy in my job last year so changed career, now that work life is sorted, I need to focus on my body.

Ellisisland · 19/02/2015 12:32

Afternoon all

Well I sent DH into work today with all the remaining cake so have removed temptation !
Been doing ok this morning gad breakfast and lunch as planned and as long as I dont snack my planned meals bring me in just under my calorie target.
No exercise this week because of half term but have managed to clear out a few cupboards and do some deep cleaning so that must have burnt some calories right ?!

Thebewilderbeest - have sent you an mfp request Smile

MammaTo2boys · 19/02/2015 12:34

Hi, I'm fovantmum on MFP and I've sent a few of you friend requests. Hope that is ok?

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 19/02/2015 13:03

Hi Mamma & welcome I've just accepted your request, more the merrier here.

I'm sure cleaning out cupboards & tidying wardrobes moving things around but not throwing anything away burns lots of calories Ellis. Well done getting the cake out of the house, I would have done the same but very begrudgingly Grin

m0therofdragons · 19/02/2015 13:57

Really late spotting this thread. Likeep you op I lost weight no problem after twins were born but now they are 3.5 it's crept back on and some. In January I was 10st 12lbs (5 ft 4).
I've been doing mfp and have lost 11 lbs. Really hoping that by mid next week I'll be under 10 stone but it's dd's birthday this weekend so might take an extra week. I'm only losing 1 lb a week now but it's going down. I'm aiming for 9 st 7 but if i can do that i will then make 9 st 2 my target which is the lightest I've been as an adult where I liked my body and still had boobs.

MammaTo2boys · 19/02/2015 13:58

Is there one day of the week for weighing in? Or are we all doing our own weigh in days?

FiloFunky · 19/02/2015 15:04

i weigh in on saturdays Grin

took DS and his friend ice skating. went to McDonald's after. i had a salad sandwich when we got home instead.... Now where is my duster to polish my halo??

MammaTo2boys · 19/02/2015 15:33

Passes duster to Filo, that's good going, not sure I could have resisted.

anothernumberone · 19/02/2015 20:42

Well done Filo I am getting a take away but it is under my calorie allowance for the day, I need a whip to beat myself with. Still at least I will walk 250m to collect it.Grin

Thebewilderbeest · 19/02/2015 22:15

Thank you for adding me on mfp guys, hopeless at actually getting round to that sort of thing!

Done ok today I think. Took kids to cinema and took our own food in so I know exactly what I had. Veg and Bean chilli for dinner which was nice, have discovered half fat creme fraiche is a good sub for sour cream and a lot less calorie heavy.

Starting to feel a bit flat about everything but I'm likely to be hormonal this week. Any tips on coping without chocolate and wine when you're expecting Aunt Flo?

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 19/02/2015 22:34

Usually fail miserably but low cal hot chocolate, those pink & white marshmallow wafer things & the odd crumpet help with the chocolate cravings.

But when it gets to the point I'd sell my soul for chocolate Matchmakers have to be eaten!

Ellisisland · 20/02/2015 09:16

Morning all how is everyone doing ? Was under calorie goal yesterday but was very carb heavy. Currently have no food in the house as waiting on shopping delivery arriving at lunchtime so that's one way of avoiding snacking!

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 20/02/2015 10:02

Morning Ellis, doing ok here but also awaiting a grocery delivery Grin

Juicing wasn't a complete waste of time as my skin looks better & I do feel better, less bloated & sluggish. Certainly not sustainable but will have at least one juice/smoothie a day alongside 'real food'

WI not until Sunday but the scale currently reads 9st 13lb so fingers crossed....

anothernumberone · 20/02/2015 11:50

Weigh in this week same as last week but happy that it was not a gain as last weekend was a weight loss write off even though according to MFP I stayed below weekly calorie allowance. I am having a good week this week so I am really hoping to be down 2 lbs by next weigh which will nudge me very close to the 11 stone mark which is my first goal. I am hoping to make the 11 stone by the first week in March. Has anyone else set interim goals. I need them 2 stone sounds like a mountain but 7 lb goals with a non food treat at the end seems managable.

zippyandbungle · 20/02/2015 11:57

Morning all, I'm struggling this week, I put my back out on Sunday and haven't been moving very far at all, I've gone from 10,000 steps to 1,000 shuffle about the house. And the fridge is a constant boredom filler.
I have cleared a shelf and each evening set out breakfast, lunch and authorised snacks to stop me going to other shelves in there.
I will be surprised if the scales don't go up next week. I stayed the same on Wednesday. Hopefully by Monday I will be back to walking a bit more.

MammaTo2boys · 20/02/2015 14:54

I've managed to lose 1kg this week, so now weigh 69.2kg (10st 12.5lbs) . I would love to lose another 9 kg, but would be happy with a loss of 6 kg. Small steps at a time, I think the loss is due to my no alcohol policy this week. Hope I can go the weekend without any and give my liver a long overdue break.

bewilder, I drink M&S sparkling raspberry and lemon soda from a wine glass, to give me the illusion of drinking alcohol and eat Kalo chocolate rice cake thins, they give the chocolate hit but are quite low on calories.

Heffalumps I've got my fingers x for you.

Zippy Hope your back improves soon Flowers Brew

Hope everyone has a fab friday night and good luck to those who are to WI this weekend.

knowclue · 20/02/2015 17:31

The end of my first week has shown a 1 lb loss, so am happy with that. Dropped myself down to 1000 cals for on MFP as well, see if that boosts things a bit. Bit of enlightenment re the weight gain as well; MFP says I'm eating too many carbs! The fridge is now loaded with all manner of veg, and have told DC's Id like a spiraliser for mothers day instead of chocs!
Sorry to read about your back zippy, hope things are soon on the mend, have a good weekend everyone.

FiloFunky · 21/02/2015 09:17

lost .2 of a pound.... Sad

m0therofdragons · 21/02/2015 09:37

I'm assuming I'll have a gain - dd's party yesterday. I logged it all and went over by an obscene amount so will get half term over with them back to focusing.

Thebewilderbeest · 21/02/2015 10:27

Thanks for the advice heffa and mama. I did cave in to a couple of rum and diet cokes last night, but had the calories saved so not too bad. I wanted crisps but settled for a popadum, at 39 calories I think thats acceptable! I will vow not to drink next weekend, I never drink in the week anyway.

zippy I hope your back gets better Thanks .

Off my second cousins first birthday in a bit. Her Mum is totally the sort to go mad with the nibbles, but also the sort to put out crudites so I'll stick to those I think! (She's also the sort to be slightly miffed if you don't eat anything).

Not to worry Filo it happens. I have been on enough weight loss journeys to get too het up by not losing for one week. I bet you will see a jump next week because your calories look fine.

anothernumberone · 21/02/2015 14:11

Bewilderbeest I allow myself a bottle of wine per week but I must stay below weekly calories. I generally don't drink during the week this week but I had a pint of light cider this week as we closed on a house so I felt justified??.

FiloFunky · 22/02/2015 09:36

taking ds for a snowboarding lesson shortly. he has no idea!!

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 22/02/2015 09:36

Lost 2lb this week which brings me to 9st 13lb, could have cried to be back at 9 something even if it is only 1lb away from 10st Smile

Filo I bet you get a big loss next week, bodies are weird & can take time to catch up.

bewilderbeest I hope you enjoyed some of the goodies & met with approval from your mum haha.

Mother Good luck for next week, hope you do well.

Know That's brilliant well done, I'm still gobsmacked how much a lb is.

Mama A kilo is amazing woohoo for you Grin
