Does anyone with 1-2st to lose fancy buddying up?

I'm 5ft 5 and am currently 10st 6lb. My clothes are feeling tight and I have stopped wearing jeans in favour of elasticated trousers which is a slippery slope for me.

To cut a long story short, I lost 3st after my twins were born 2.5 years ago. I felt a lot happier and more confident but it's beginning to creep back on as I lost the weight during my turbulent pregnancy so never had to address my bad eating habits. It's catching up with me now and I've put a stone back on and know if I don't address the problem now, it won't be long till the other 2+st is back.

I wondered whether anyone fancied buddying up and we can give each other a nudge, check in on how each other is doing?

knowclue · 16/02/2015 20:42

Am I too late to join you all? Desperate to shift 10-14 lbs, and really need some support to reach my goal! I have no clothes that currently fit!

Ellisisland · 16/02/2015 20:50

filo that film gets me every time !

heffa my carb intake is really high as well. Even when I don't think I've done too badly it's always around 50-60%Blush

Welcome know the more the merrier !

knowclue · 16/02/2015 21:09

Smile Thank you Ellis !
menopause onset, hopped on the scales and had a major shock! Im 5'5 and currently 10st 4lbs, was cruising around 9 st 3lbs just two months ago, am in despair as NOTHING seems to be working!
MN was a godsend 5 yrs ago when I LC'd with great success (hence the 9st 3lbs)....but this time? Nada. No weight loss AT ALL. Weight gain in fact. No idea what Im doing wrong, and am beginning to hit the "I hate myself lets comfort eat" stage.

So. I start tomorrow. MFP is up and ready to go, think I'm going to start off with 1000 cals a day to kick things off, then aim for low carbing combined.

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 16/02/2015 21:24

Read Marley & Me & cried like a baby, watched the film & did the same. Can't watch it now as my dog has incurable lymphoma Sad Broadchurch it is instead.

Welcome Know and good luck, it's easier to stick too with everyone here.

knowclue · 16/02/2015 21:39

Smile Thank you Heff
And so sorry to read about your dog :(. I lost my beautiful golden retriever when she was 5 to the same thing.

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 17/02/2015 09:33

Sorry to hear about your young lab know it's a horrible disease Sad Indy's nodes are getting bigger every week but apart from that you wouldn't know anything was wrong. Nearly a year since diagnosis so she has fought it well.

The modified juice/smoothie & a sensible dinner thing is working, got on the scales & am now 9st 13lb hoorah! This way is sustainable rather than just juice.

anothernumberone · 17/02/2015 20:37

Well done Heffa and so sorry about your dog it sounds really tough.

Thebewilderbeest · 17/02/2015 23:06

Big welcome to the newbies, the more the merrier Smile .

Well done heffa, and so sorry about your dog Sad, you are doing amazingly if you have that going on as well Thanks .

I weighed yesterday, and according to the scales have lost 7lb. In a week Confused . I think it's a lot of fluid, plus due to not weighing at the same time of day. If it's a drastic loss again next time though I think I'll up my calories a bit!
That's unlikely to happen as had takeaway last night at in laws for MILs birthday. We have a local Italian takeaway and it's lush but shockingly calorific, all pasta in cream sauces and pizzas.
Never mind, onwards and inwards (hopefully...)

broken i am on 1200 cals too. i struggle to get there most days. have a look at my diary on mfp. im never hungry x

GraduallyGoneInsane · 18/02/2015 08:50

Filo do you have snacks? I manage 1200 on MFP if I'm eating regular meals, but work patterns mean sometimes I have lunch at 12 and no dinner until 10pm! I'm really starving by about 5pm!

Hi all, can I join the gang? I just looked on MFP and realised I haven't logged in properly for 9 months! I have no idea how much weight I've piled on in that time but I estimate it's close to two stone Blush I'm going to buy some scales today but think I'm around 12.5-13 stone (am 5 ft 7). My niece is getting married in August so I have an incentive to lose the weight! I'm fattybumbum36 on MFP if anyone would like to add me Smile I could really do with some support.

FiloFunky · 18/02/2015 10:07

i eat breakfast occasionally. a sandwich for lunch and a main meal and usually a couple of snacks as i dont eat til DP gets home anywhere from 8-10pm. Are we friends on mfp? ive lost track of everyone! feel free to look at my diary or add me :)

Ellisisland · 18/02/2015 14:05

Hi all

Well yesterday was a write off with DS birthday there was cake everywhere ! Three different relatives turned up with full sized cakes plus all sorts of other calorific treats Smile oh we'll never mind back on track today with porridge for breakfast and soup for lunch. Will drink loads of water as well to counteract the sugar over load from yesterday !

Think I have added everyone on mfp but if not my user name on there is herethereeverywhere Smile

Broken I put one cup of milk in every day 200mls I think for my cups of tea.

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 18/02/2015 14:36

Afternoon all, welcome to our latest recruits.

Ellis there is no way you could have avoided cake but it's good you climbed back on the wagon. Once I start I find it hard to stop.

Furry I've sent you a MFP request, it's great to have something to aim for.

Thebewilder 7lb wow! That's amazing well done.

Made a vegetable soup, boiled some apple slices with cinnamon and am wondering what to do with the 8 ripe bananas I have left? Any ideas? I can use a few in breakfast smoothies but don't want to waste the rest.

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 18/02/2015 16:44

Found this on the BBC website, no idea on calories but says they're low fat Grin They are delicious as a sweet treat.

Thebewilderbeest · 18/02/2015 18:54

I need to get round to adding everyone on mfp. heffa if you peel the bananas and chop them you can freeze them in single portions and chuck straight into smoothies. It's like adding banana ice cubes Smile . They can go a bit brown but they still taste alright in a smoothie or banana cake once defrosted. Not sure how they are for eating after freezing, I've never tried as they go a bit sloppy. Saves throwing them away though.

anothernumberone · 18/02/2015 18:58

Thebewilderbeast who are you in MFP. Your name rocks by the way.

furrymuff · 18/02/2015 19:52

I went round my friends this afternoon and took the opportunity to weigh myself - as suspected it was pretty bad - 12stone 11lbs. Blush

Unfortunately this afternoon we were off to the spa for lounging and champagne afternoon tea, so it wasn't the best day to have my weight revelation! Tomorrow I start in earnest, I am determined!!

Thebewilderbeest · 18/02/2015 21:54

I'm TheBewilderBeest on mfp too. Thanks another, my 6 month old DD used to look permanently shocked and confused, so we started to call her the bewilderbeest, and now I've stolen the title from her Grin .

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 19/02/2015 11:20

Didn't realise you could freeze bananas, thanks Thebewilder. Had to cook a fried breakfast this morning as my DP has taken s day off such is his jealousy of me being on holiday. I inhaled as many calories as humanly possible and drank my fruit smoothie instead Envy

WI not until Sunday but it looks like all my efforts have been in vain as the scale hasn't moved much humph.
