Does anyone with 1-2st to lose fancy buddying up?

Woahbodyforrrrm · 01/02/2015 11:41

I'm 5ft 5 and am currently 10st 6lb. My clothes are feeling tight and I have stopped wearing jeans in favour of elasticated trousers which is a slippery slope for me.

To cut a long story short, I lost 3st after my twins were born 2.5 years ago. I felt a lot happier and more confident but it's beginning to creep back on as I lost the weight during my turbulent pregnancy so never had to address my bad eating habits. It's catching up with me now and I've put a stone back on and know if I don't address the problem now, it won't be long till the other 2+st is back.

I wondered whether anyone fancied buddying up and we can give each other a nudge, check in on how each other is doing?

I started at 11st 12lb 2 years ago Saturn, joined Weightwatchers stuck to it for a few months lost weight then got fed up so ate whatever I wanted piling it back on.

Have you got anything in you could make a vegetable soup from? Really low calorie & quite filling. Or omelet with some lean ham, you can pull it back.

My DP has just had the leftover chinese from last night.....it smelt lovely! This is going to be tougher than I thought.

saturn · 15/02/2015 16:04

I was similar, but with slimming world. Joined summer 2012 at 12 stone, made it down to 9 and a half - then got fed up with it and ended back up to 10 and a half. The problem now is SW encourage you to eat so much fruit and veg I'm just sick of the stuff :(

Really well done on avoiding he Chinese, you have better willpower than me :)

Evening all ! Have had a bit of an off day as we went out for Sunday lunch with friends but not as bad as it could have been!
Weighed in at 9st 2lbs was 8 and a half before pregnancy so would like to get back to that. Have lost 11lb using mfp so far just need to stick with it and have less bad days !

God I love Chinese ! I would have struggled resisting it well done !

anothernumberone · 15/02/2015 20:19

I left my phone and my MFP in work at the weekend and OH MY GOD it has been a disaster. I have gone way off track. I have my period and I feel like crap and I have also had too much alcohol over the last 2 nights. Gah! Gah! Gah! I need to get back into it with vengeance tomorrow so Thursday's tears are lessened. I am going to track everything since last Friday tomorrow morning so I can see the damage I have done and I am dreading it Blush

Hi Broken, MFP is My Fitness Pal an app you can download that counts calories, it sets a target amount for you to eat daily based on how much you want to lose & how active you are. You can track any exercise you do as well.

It's great here as we are all in the same boat, I was quite sporadic in tracking the food I eat but now I feel a bit more accountable as we are all doing it together Smile Welcome & good luck.

saturn · 16/02/2015 08:21

Only 9lb to go Ellis - you are over half way there!

Might not be as bad as you think another

saturn · 16/02/2015 08:26

Hadn't realised there was another page Blush

Welcome broken

Morning heffa

Was hungry and had curry and wine last night, put the 1lb back on this morning Sad back to 1 down 24 to go...will be here a long time at this rate! Going to start some exercise tonight.

Have a good day everyone!

GraduallyGoneInsane · 16/02/2015 08:49

Please can I join? I've somehow crept up to 11 stone 1 and can't keep claiming the washing machine has shrunk my clothes!

I'm aiming for 9 stone, I'm 5 ft 4 so that's probably about right. I've been in the 10 stone range for years, but 11 is a new one and has shocked me into action!

Today I've started with porridge with linseed on top. I'm going to make soup for lunch, and could do with inspiration for dinner. I've got my regular 90 minute yoga class tonight before chauffeuring the kids from ballet and can never be bothered to cook much afterwards!

anothernumberone · 16/02/2015 10:48

broken I was thinking the same that most people in her are my goal weight Smile.

That is fine though I was many years ago a stone plus lighter than my goal but it would not suit my lifestyle now. I was cycling 10miles a day, minimum,in hilly terrain, not eating like a student and playing soccer a couple of times a week at the time so keeping off weight was easy.

Now with 3 kids in toe I would just not be able to stoke up that level of commitment. I can admire the commitment from a distance on this thread Smile.

Saturn I was 2 lbs up this morning. It was absolutely no surprise but I have 4 days to work on it before my weigh in.

welcome Gradually.

Ellisisland · 16/02/2015 10:51

Welcome gradually Smile
For dinner I have been having similar to what I would eat normally but reducing portion sizes and upping the veg. So for example tonight I am having veggie sausages and mash. But just having a small portion of mash, two sausages and loads of veg. If you are in a hurry you could make a bean chilli? Quick to Cook an very filling

Back on track today after my roast dinner and fudge cake yesterday! Had porridge for breakfast, soup will be for lunch and then veggie sausages for tea.
Ordered my dress for the wedding/family reunion we are going to in April. It's gorgeous but not a forgiving fabric so lumps and bumps will be visible ! Definitely an incentive to loose the last couple of pounds or just buy some Spanx

Hi everyone, sorry for going awol. Had another bad weekend. I don't know why I can't control myself once Friday evening hits. It's like I reward myself for getting through another manic week by treating myself with food. I hope I haven't caused too much damage but resisting weighing until Wednesday, so have a few days to get back on track with MFP.

Looks like there's been some good losses while I was away, well done!

Welcome brokenhearted agnu and gradually ??

Good luck with the juicing heffa I'm looking forward to hearing how you get on, hope it's not too hard to stick to.

filo sorry to hear you had a bit of a pants few days, I hope you have a better week. Your husband sounds like such a treasure.

ellis have you got a recipe for the broccoli pasta, that sounds like it would be a hit with the kids and I. And the crumble is definitley being made too! You're so near goal, it's good to hear you can eat yummy food and still lose.

I've yet to make him my husband! I'm feeling better. have my referral date. what will be will be. i may go blind in one eye but at least I'll be trim!

Can you think of other treats Woah? i had my nails done saturday with shellac. small treats if i lose each week. going to think what my big treat will be when ive lost a stone!

half term this week. off work from tomorrow - thats when im going to struggle. we have a no food policy at our desks so no temptations!

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 16/02/2015 13:46

Hi all, so juicing....what can I say. It's not fun & some recipes taste much better than others! Day 1 I had to make some egg muffins as I needed some protein & something I could chew! Drank lots of water & herbal tea too so ended up weeing every hour or so Grin

Day 2, woke up surprised I hadn't chewed my own arm off in the night and wasn't feeling that hungry. Have adapted the plan possibly sabotaged the whole thing by having a fruit smoothie for breakfast with added porridge oats. Just had another juice, discovered anything with pineapple is lovely anything with limes (including peel) is grim!

Got on the scales this morning and had lost 1/2lb but I think the Chinese & vast quantities of cake where still catching up with me. Will report back tomorrow, when I have the dubious pleasure of juicing beetroot Hmm

anothernumberone · 16/02/2015 14:42

Woah I am the same I go mad at the weekend. Admittedly this weekend was a big weekend with birthdays, anniversaries, a big one, and buying a house but still. I went mad. It is done now. I have drawn my line. heffa I simply could not do the juicing. I watched an amazing netflix programme with an Aussie guy who lost the guts of 200lbs though, it was inspiring but I like my food too much.

Ellisisland · 16/02/2015 15:54

another I saw that documentary too. Was good but I'm the same I need to chew!

woah I just steam some broccolli and cook pasta. Then fry some garlic and mix with lemon juice, olive oil and a bit of sweet chilli sauce then mix all together. It's very tasty. DS is 3 and loves it though I don't put as much sweet chilli sauce in his. The crumble receipe is on her website i think.

I do the same and treat myself with food. We went out at the weekend for dinner and I had a massive chocolate fudge cake! I think its the social aspect of food treats with me. I could treat myself to a magazine or manicure or something but food is something I can do with friends and family.

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 16/02/2015 17:09

I quit.....I was hungry & miserable. At least I can say I tried, just about Grin just wolfed down a grilled fish finger sandwich, followed by some Black Forest gateaux that needed eating. Back to Weightwatchers & MFP on the side.

It takes a stronger woman than me to even manage 5 measly days. Will continue with a smoothie for breakfast, juice for lunch & a real chewable dinner.

Ieirswnllyd · 16/02/2015 17:16

Can I join? Im Really struggling to get motivated ATM. I'm 12.5 and want to go down to 10.7.

Trying to eat less, low carbs 2-3 days a week and back to power walking.

FiloFunky · 16/02/2015 18:13

gets out the poms poms

2 4 6 8 - its not at all too late
3 5 7 9 - we can all weigh less in time

(rhymes are not my speciality Grin Grin )

anothernumberone · 16/02/2015 18:33

Filo hows about

2 4 6 8
How did I get to this weight

3 5 7 9
because of how much I like to dine

Grin
HeffalumpsnWoozles · 16/02/2015 18:44

2 4 6 8 this fat we will obliterate

3 5 7 9 won't be long & we'll all look fine

Slinks off rhyming is also not my strong point....and for some reason it sounds very American?

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 16/02/2015 18:46

Iers Sorry I got carried away rhyming, welcome. Do you have any tips to reduce carbs as MFP has shown my carb intake is ridiculously high.

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 16/02/2015 18:47

And reduced my ability to read apparently Ieirs sorry Blush
