Need to lose weight before ttc no2!

ColdFeetWarmHeart · 02/01/2015 00:56

I thought I'd start a thread as it's likely there are others in the same position.

Gave one DD who is 2.3. Would like to have another child at some point in the non too distant future but firstly I really need to lose weight, as

  1. I'm far too heavy at the moment and my knees and feet have started to ache with the strain etc. I really don't think I'd cope physically being pregnant at this size
  2. I have PCOS and the erratic periods that go with it. Weight loss supposedly helps with this (no personal experience to date) My plan at the moment is to be sensible - more home cooked meals with plenty of fruit and veg, and less processed crap! I really don't eat well, especially lately (I work evening shifts, and we moved house 3 weeks ago - I h Ave been grabbing what i can, when I can!)

I shall technically be starting on Monday, as I will be spending some of this weekend meal planning. But as of first thing in the morning I shall be starting on 3 meals a day instead of constant grazing!

I never did the gammon either,I did do thighs thou as I prefer the taste.
If you are doing it in a slow cooker you can just it all in together the chicken may go a bit stringy pulled style thou, if you wanted more chunks then you would have to put it in later.

yellowsnownoteatwillyou · 09/03/2015 12:35

We are having korma for tea, I'm about to finally organise the en suite, I should just get on the scales and see the damage.
I had a sausage sandwich for breakfast Blush
Have made some cloud dough for ds this morning, so have left dh with him playing with it down stairs.

TakesTwoToTango · 09/03/2015 17:30

We're having something unidentifiable my dh pulled out of the freezer (we're clearing out everything!).

MarkingMyPlace9 · 10/03/2015 07:16

Morning all, how are we doing today?
I may try the Skinny Lasagne sometime Yellow I do like the Pasta version though! Your Steak sounds lovely, we don't have Steak often, but I do love it. DH keeps on reminding me it's Steak and BJ (Ahem Hmm) Day on Saturday, and I keep on reminding Him that we are not Americans! What is Cloud Dough??
Congrats on the Weight loss ColdFeet Thanks, it is hard over the Weekend. But I know I am getting my favourite Chocolates this Weekend (Lindt) for Mothers Day so won't be abstaining from it this Weekend!! Has your Headache gone?
What was your Dinner in the end last Night TakesTwo?
I Weighed myself this Morning, I've lost 5 pounds since I set my Goal Shock Only 8 more to go. Not sure how I have done it tbh.

TakesTwoToTango · 10/03/2015 09:02

Ah don't ask - ended up ordering dominos Blush

MarkingMyPlace9 · 10/03/2015 09:31

Ohhh my fave. Hope you enjoyed! Smile

TakesTwoToTango · 10/03/2015 09:40

TakesTwoToTango · 10/03/2015 09:40

Guilt! Not gut!Blush

Cloud dough is like moon sand,
It's just 4 cups of flour and about a cup of baby oil.
So it clumps together and feels nice, I didn't fancy getting his sandpit out out.

I've got both things in under the bed storage boxes with lids, and have wooden floors. So he can make as much mess as he wants then you can just sweep it up and put it back in the box.

I'm going for a carvery today with ds and my friend. So have to stop just eating rubbish and actually make an effort, as the scales did not say a good number.

I've been really sore the last few days, my lower back is in agony, an just generally achey.
Don't know if it's a rheumatism flare up due to AF coming or not, will find out in a few days.

Then we are stopping ttc for a few months as don't want a Xmas baby or the youngest in the year with jan/feb.

So will be working hard to get weight off as I've just been mucking about for the last couple of months.

yellowsnownoteatwillyou · 10/03/2015 09:56

Also well done marking on your 5lbs Grin

MarkingMyPlace9 · 10/03/2015 11:10

I always feel like that TakesTwo Shall we blame it on cravings!? Hoping I have right person here!!
I may have to try that Yellow I am awful for mess though, so may wait till the Summer when it can be done out on the Decking Grin I know what you mean, I'm not keen on a Xmas or Jan Baby, but think we'll just carry on lol. Thank you! As soon as I saw how much I lost I lept off the Scales and didn't go back on, just incase they were wrong lol.

TakesTwoToTango · 10/03/2015 12:27

A ha marking right person! No cravings or anything yet though so probably a bit of a stretch to blame anything but a slip in will power!

yellowsnownoteatwillyou · 10/03/2015 16:37

The mess thing does sometimes bother me, but we have 2 living rooms so I let him make mess in the big one we don't use as much, or (posh lounge as my friend calls it) then I shut the door and then deal with it later. Wink

Carvery was excellent, shared with ds, he ate all the gammon as I don't like it. I may have purchased a bit of red velvet cake to take away but ds seems to have eaten most of that as well.

Another growth spurt I think. My head is thumping today, don't know what's wrong with me.

ColdFeetWarmHeart · 11/03/2015 22:36

hhhhmmmm Dominos!!

yellow I am so jealous of your house. A large kitchen with so many cupboards your son as claimed one as a little den, a craft room AND a 2nd living room!!!! And within walking distance of a loch!!!!
keeps fingers crossed for tonights lottery- Envy

I'm off for an early night in a mo to dream of winning the lottery to prepare for day out with DD tomorrow.

OP posts:
yellowsnownoteatwillyou · 12/03/2015 08:28

But remember its in Scotland,so very cheap compared to England. You wouldn't need a lottery win to buy up here. Lol

Going to have a non exciting trip to aldi I think today. Possibly the craft shop as well, So will have ds in the sling, so that will be my weight lifting for today. Wink

ColdFeetWarmHeart · 12/03/2015 08:56

hhhmmm I might have to be a but nosey on rightmove later lol. We're in Kent. Proximity to London pushes our house prices up. Grrr.

Quite possibly going to bluewater today. Make the most of what could be my last weekday off!

OP posts:
yellowsnownoteatwillyou · 12/03/2015 11:00

I just had a look in Kent, crazy prices. For a house like mine it's nearly triple the price Shock

Decided I'm going to ikea instead. I will be eating meatballs.
This week has been a right off.
I'm rubbish at this good eating life. I'm in limbo with waiting for AF. That's my excuse.
I started my day off with a banana muffin i made yesterday, a piece of toast and pâté and a drink of Pepsi max. No wonder I'm fat. Blush

TakesTwoToTango · 12/03/2015 15:24

Oh yellow. Hugs. Enjoy your meatballs. It will all be easier in spring and summer when the weather is better for exercising.

yellowsnownoteatwillyou · 12/03/2015 17:16

Thanks takestwo, crazy rain here when coming back from ikea.
I had macaroni and chips, even worse. Shock
Shared with ds thou and he had some jelly then had an ice cream cone to keep him quiet in the queue as he had had enough of ikea at that point. His first cone.
I did notice something interesting as I was with my mum, who is a lot fatter than me, she finished up all ds's left overs after her lunch and ate some of his cone. Which I was happy to put in the bin.
Maybe it's a baby boomer thing of no waste, but just eating for the sake of it.

TakesTwoToTango · 12/03/2015 19:45

Interesting. I'm sure I do a lot of mindless eating too. Sort of boredom relief at times Blush

ColdFeetWarmHeart · 12/03/2015 21:36

that sounds about right yellow -I had a quick look at Rightmove earlier on. Though I was looking around the border/Edinburgh, so I'm sure that I wasn't looking at the cheapest houses in Scotland.
To get the house we want I think we could be looking at spending twice what our current house is worth!! Eek!! Another £50k would get us a 2nd bedroom and maybe a conservatory. So being realistic we're looking at needing £100k to move house......sigh.....

Macaroni and chips in Ikea isn't too bad!! DD and I had McDonalds! lol

OP posts:
ColdFeetWarmHeart · 13/03/2015 00:11

Right, I am aiming to get down to 15st by easter! I will then raise question with Dh as to when we will start ttc.
I am starting to get fairly broody now. Thinking about baby no 2 nearly every day. When I was shopping today I could see babies everywhere. I even bought 2 baby comforters in a sale today!! I just couldn't resist!! And dd and I walked round mother care. Ended up looking at prams and cots (though we need neither!!)
got to be good, got to be good, got to be good!!!! Will weigh in tomorrow!!!!

OP posts:
yellowsnownoteatwillyou · 13/03/2015 00:47

I'm about 20mins from Edinburgh, but above it rather than towards England. Even in the borders where i have friends, the house prices vary dramatically but still nowhere as crazy as down south.
I used to live in Edinburgh, 10 mins walk to city centre,my 2 bed flat was nearly as expensive as our house.

This tww is soul destroying, I have 3 days till AF is due, and I am symptom spotting like a loon. Nearly passed out in ikea, I think I'm making symptoms up in my head.

So if AF arrives, I've got 2/4 months to work my ass of to loose weight then we can try again.

I had a McDonald's last week, it was yum. Blush Just had some roast chicken for tea with some carrots, potatoes and gravy.....
Then DH bought me a raspberry muffin. He's no help.

MarkingMyPlace9 · 13/03/2015 12:12

Wow Yellow Your House sounds awesome! I'm kinda the same as ColdFeet As were in Essex, London bumps up the Prices! We have moved further out so got a bit more for our money. But no second living Rooms or En Suites here!
It is very hard to eat well/healthy when your out and about. It's so easy to pick up fast Food or a slice of Cake!
How was Bluewater ColdFeet? I have only ever been there once, but used to frequent Lakeside an awful lot before having DS! Used to only be a 30 Min Drive from there, so used to go a lot after Work with Friends. As much as I love my LO, I do miss being able to do that sometimes!!
I am very much like that Yellow I will go back for more Food just because it's there, not because I need it. And if I'm not being good, when DS goes down for His Nap, I will just scoff myself with Food! Mainly Biscuits.
Well done ColdFeet! Easter is a good goal. So cute looking at all the Baby stuff. Even though we are ttc, I'm not sure how I feel about it (Sounds awful) I am due on tomorrow so we should know anyways by then. I was unsure when we ttc our DS, and I do not regret that decision at all, and I now realise how lucky we were to fall so quickly and have no complications ect. Ideally I would like to loose a bit more weight before I fall though (Sorry, just blabbering on now!) Anyways, Mothers Day this Weekend Ladies! What is everyones plans for it?

MarkingMyPlace9 · 13/03/2015 16:57

Ah well, AF got me a Day early, so I've got another 3-4 Weeks to try and loose a few more pounds
