New Year, New Thread #16 For Paul McKenna's Losers!!! He Can Make Us Thin!!!

Happy New Year Everyone!
Welcome to thread #16 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied

HELPFUL TIPS!
Lots of chewing; at least 20 chews per mouthful.
Ask yourself "am I really hungry?" have a glass of water to see if it's real hunger or just thirst; wait 15 or 20 minutes if you can, before eating something to see if it's 'gone off' after a drink. Listen for your 'full signal' and leave at least a mouthful on your plate at every meal. Eat your favourite thing from your plate first so that if you get to the full signal, but have your favourite food still sitting there, you aren't going to 'make room' for it because you love it, it will have already gone.
Admire something about yourself every day in the mirror.
Try to move more; dance around the living room or walk to school...use the stairs...small things, but good things! :)

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth and body, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those summer outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain; we just need to change how we treat food and ourselves.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose; it's very doable.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2015 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for the sunny summer time!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Hypnotic Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we won't be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process Smile so get stuck in Smile

Here is a link to Freedom From Emotional Eating which may give some insight into why we do this and help us beat it.

Ps. Could we all try to sign in at least every few days so that someone is 'there?' We have established that it's no fun talking to ourselves and also that if there is a new joiner, it's good to say 'hello and welcome' to them too.

Ok! Let's Focus and See Ourselves wearing that body we desire! learning to love ourselves is an important daily step, so let's become LOSERS in order to be WINNERS!!! Smile 1lb at a time....

Hello all, is anyone using the Gastric Band app? I started using it a few days ago, but when it comes to the evening session, I doze off and never hear the end of the session - I wake up an hour or two later with the earphones still in. Blush I don't know if the session 'counts' you back in to an awake state or not, so I don't know if I'm missing a vital part of it. I don't feel any different but I know it's early days yet.

Solo · 14/07/2015 23:23

Hi Kitty :) you don't have to be awake listening to it; it will all 'go in' anyway. Keep going with it and keep posting Thanks

Thanks, Solo.

Bizarrely, last night was day 7 of the app and it was the first time I heard most of what he said. I don't know if it was the same 'speech' each night, but I heard the part about the 'surgery' and felt a bit odd in my stomach. I will report back. Grin

I have not read the thread so sorry if I am interrupting a conversation or asking something that has been covered already.

Can you tell me please how you know that you are actually hungry and not eating because you are thirsty, bored, tired, grumpy, have just been offered a piece of cake etc etc.
I find it very easy to convince myself that I am hungry Confused

gunsandbanjos · 16/07/2015 09:14

Barbieinthebath once you start listening to your body you become very aware of your hunger signals - I find imagining taking a mouthful of whatever you're going to eat and if I'm not actually hungry i get quite sick feeling. It's odd!

Take the cake if you think you're hungry and eat it incredibly slowly, really savouring each mouthful and chewing slowly. You'll discover for yourself if you're hungry or not.

gunsandbanjos · 16/07/2015 09:15

I just got back from holiday yesterday and I can say I overate probably everyday...
Back on the wagon today!!! I've put on 4lbs.

Barbieinthebath · 16/07/2015 18:14

thanks for the advice, I will give it a go next time I am not sure if I want a snack or not

Solo · 17/07/2015 15:16

Or have a drink of water and wait for 20 minutes. If you have real hunger, the water wont satisfy you :)

Kitty from what I know about hypnotherapy and Paul McKenna cds, it doesn't matter if you drift off as long as you do wake up when he counts you back in to the world. It says this in all his books.

Solo · 19/07/2015 12:09

Well, I weighed myself yesterday and have lost 6lbs in a week. I have been drinking Aloe Vera drinks, that's the only change I have made. No idea if this is coincidence.

Well done. Is this the 5lbs that keeps going on and off or more weightloss Smile

Solo · 19/07/2015 14:49

Well, I went back up to 15st at one point, but kept going up and down 14/11 - 14/08 and reverse, but started out this week at 14st 11.5lbs, yesterday 14st 5.5lbs. Who knows?!!!

Yay!! Solo.

Milllii · 19/07/2015 17:56

Yay!! Solo.

KittyB52 · 19/07/2015 22:29

OK, so I used the app for a week, and although on the day immediately after the last session where the gastric band is fitted I felt a little different, nothing has really changed. On the app I only seem able to access the day 7 sessions, so I think I can redo the 'fitting', but I don't know if that will be enough.

Has anyone else used the app and been able to redo it, or should it have worked after the week is up? Confused

Solo · 19/07/2015 23:10

Thanks Milli x 2 !!

Kitty I haven't used the app, so can't really say. Sorry.

OP posts:
Milllii · 19/07/2015 23:11

Sorry Kitty, I haven't used the app. I use his CD and book. Have you read the book? Its invaluable in understanding what its all about Smile

The cd worked for me when I used it and works every time I reinstall it but in know for Solo it worked the first time and then when she reinstalled it again, it seemed to undo it.

Hi, I am thinking of digging out my pm book!
I have been on ww for the past 6 months and lost a stone and a half but I literally lose weight for a week or two then binge for a week :(
I want a 'normal' relationship with food but I also do need to lose some weight!!!

Milllii · 23/07/2015 11:35

Welcome back Cupcake. You were on this thread before I think. What made you decide that dieting was the answer? Did this way not work for you before ? Genuinely interested. Smile

Milllii · 23/07/2015 11:41

I could lose weight easily on weight watchers or any diet. All your doing is reducing your calories in one way or another. Same thing with mindful eating though. By really eating mindfully you tune into your own true hunger signals hence reducing calories in the end.

On another note I have now lost another two pounds and am moving towards the half stone mark so that is a stone I have lost since this time last year. Yay! Its not easy as my hormones are against me but I just keep on keeping on even when I feel like giving up. I have however changed my eating habits a lot since the beginning of the year. I don't have dairy any more as it doesn't agree with me and have eliminated all processed food, again as it doesn't suit me, so my food is now very natural and fruit, veg, meat, fish based. I gave up alcohol last year as I have always had an allergic reaction when drinking it. I have found that apart from the weight loss I am feeling much better in myself and less prone to headaches/migraines, colds etc.

Milllii · 23/07/2015 11:43

I do however have a small piece of homemade cookie or cake when I want it and eat dark chocolate which I love.
