OK, here we go ... a new thread for a new week. Big fat hairy line drawn underneath last week, and here's to a better week this week.

OP posts:
Littlefish · 05/10/2006 17:21

Well done WWB - a well deserved crown.

I hope you don't mind, but I have directed someone called Lolabelle over to this thread. I don't think she has lots of weight to lose, but I think she might find some of our posts very interesting re food issues. I'm sure if she comes along, she'll explain why. Hope that's ok.

suejoneziscalmernow · 05/10/2006 17:32

read the same thread Littlefish and wondered whether to post too as I agree many of the issues are similar they manifest differently.

justamindlesszombiemum · 05/10/2006 21:51

well done all, that crown does suit you wwb, it makes you all regal! I am back to being a mindless zombie as it has only just occured to me that halloween is at the end of October, not the beginning!! I am really losing the plot here.
Fauve- it must be a fab feeling to chuck out too big clothes instead of too small ones. I bet you look great, and you lemonaid- it is so nice when people comment on your weight loss isn't it.
TitianRed, I keep reading your name as Titan!! as I said, i'm losing the plot, well done on your first stone.
I am finally on the ads, after 3 visits to my dr I have been told my original prescription is ok with bf. I am slightly pissed off that I could have been on them for a fortnight and already feeling a little better but at least I am on the right tracks.

suejoneziscalmernow · 05/10/2006 23:28

I am feeling better today, didn;t have a "perfect day" but I think considering the situation I had a "good enough" day such a relief to be even marginally back in control again. Will try again tomorrow.

TitianRed · 06/10/2006 12:55

Sue - I won't be devastated if I don't reach my target by Christmas, as long as I keep losing! I quite fancy being the first woman in history to lose 2lb a week in the run up to Christmas! My immediate targets are in 7lb intervals and that's what I'll try to focus on rather than too far in the distance. xx

Dottydot · 06/10/2006 13:33

Hurrah - I've lost 1lb! Feel relieved that although it's not a big loss, at least I'm going back in the right direction...

Dottydot · 06/10/2006 13:58

Thread hijack!! Jackieno -I see you're a bit of a style guru and I need help! Going to a friend's wedding at the end of October and should (fingers crossed) be able to squeeze into a size 18 - I want a dress - HELP!!!! Needs to be long and with some kind of sleeves - I don't do strappy! Any advice much appreciated!

lemonaid · 06/10/2006 14:14

What's your figure like generally? Are you norkulous? Hourglassy? Do you have good legs?

Dottydot · 06/10/2006 14:32

I'm lucky 'cos I'm tall so quite good legs. Bottom half is teetering on a size 16 (I'm in size 16 Debs jeans!!!) But have HUGE norks that are lingering nearer to a size 20 - although have just bought a couple of 18 tops that are OK (because they're stretchy!!).

Tummy is not good - not much sign of a waist..!

Am rubbish at buying clothes, especially dresses - and budget is under £100!

Any help gratefully received...

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 06/10/2006 15:56

Hi Dottydot - congrats on losing another pound - got to dash off to take DD to ballet, but in the meantime, how about a dress with a cover-up ? Not sure it's quite right, but maybe look elsewhere on the Wallis site - they've got some good stuff. Maybe investigate a top and skirt combo - easier to get both to fit right, then.

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 06/10/2006 15:57

Oh - and that dress might actually be full-length, which I'm not sure you want?

Dottydot · 06/10/2006 17:25

Thanks Jackie - i've got a little cover up top similar to that one, so will go and try Wallis (in a couple of weeks' time when I might have shifted a couple more lbs!!).

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 06/10/2006 20:15

Also try principles - they've got some good stuff online too - like this dress or this one . Also a sale on. What colours do you like? (Sorry about the long gap - DD's ballet, then picking up DS from nursery, then supper, bed etc).

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 06/10/2006 20:26

Wrap dresses always good too, with large norks. Found a green one , not sure if this is wrap or not - I can't zoom. Actually it isn't but here's the same one in a print - quite nice, but I guess might not be to everyone's taste? And this is similar again - definitely a wrap this time, in green.

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 06/10/2006 20:30

OK - some more. Dress overload here, sorry other MoFos. This is good too. I love the colour and shape of this one , and it looks quite fitted on the bottom, which could be good for you. Bit of a wacky print here ?

suejoneziscalmernow · 06/10/2006 23:53

I had "news" today. Not going to tell you until I've told my mum and still provisional on same bloody vital piece of paper arriving back in London... but NEWS (of a sort) none the less...

Dottydot · 07/10/2006 10:26

Jackieno - that's brilliant - thanks! I love some of the Debenhams ones - will explore next week. Have never tried a wrap dress (or wrap anything) but will give it a go and report back.

Sue - I'm hoping the NEWS is good..!!

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 07/10/2006 14:07

Oh sue - tell us, tell us, tell us.. go on, go on, go on, you know you want to....

Hope one of those works for you dottydot - Debehams have their sale on at the moment, so a good time to look there.

I might not be around much this weekend, not sure - it's my birthday tomorrow, so going out for lunch. Might not go overboard on the food, but am likely to ingest some extra calories by way of a few glasses of wine, I think. Not worrying about it, as I know I can get back on track afterwards.

suejoneziscalmernow · 07/10/2006 18:41

All documentation has been resubmitted and the vital letter of invitation applied for. The letter should arrive a week Monday, then I need to get a visa. There is a flight Tuesday night and though it is cutting it a bit fine, I'm aiming for that one. Really depends on the letter arriving Monday. Otherwise it'll be a fortnight today.

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 07/10/2006 21:35

Oh wow - really, really going to happen. That's fab sue - you can start getting excited again.

Dottydot · 08/10/2006 09:47

Blimey Sue that's brilliant!! Keeping all fingers crossed for the letter arriving in time..!

How long will you be out there for (and will you have internet connection?! )

suejoneziscalmernow · 08/10/2006 09:52

will be out there for 6 weeks, dotty and qill have internet connection of a sort but very slow.

WigWamBam · 08/10/2006 10:23

Wow - that's fabulous! I have everything crossed that this is it now.

OP posts:
coppertop · 08/10/2006 10:47

Excellent news, Sue! I'll be keeping fingers and toes crossed that the letter arrives.

Can I have another link to your website? I know it was on one of the other BigMoFo threads but I can't find it.
