The thread has disappeared seemingly replaced by a biscuit!

Good news about dh Lizzy, I hope all goes well.

Well done Mini Randall at Pre school, it's such a relief when they settle. My Dd is loving school but still only going until 1pm. She starts full time next week so will see how she goes. Her teacher said we can continue to part day if she gets too tired. I think it's just unfortunate most of her class are older/nearly 5 already, makes her seem very small. But she doesn't seem to be phased, she's made of tough stuff!!

Ate a few cookies yesterday but fortunately ds had the rest so they are all gone. Still have kitkats hiding in the cupboard, they aren't my favourite so hopefully they won't fall into my mouth!

Iamapplesnotcakes · 10/10/2014 13:17

month of birth makes such a difference when they're little doesn't it? An August child is very different from September born the previous year when you're 4 or 5.

We were lucky with DD - February - so pretty in the middle. She's now settling into 6th form - which is proving quite hard academically. Doesnt surprise me - i did a degree but still think my A levels felt harder - coping with different subjects in depth

i think she'll be fine once she realises homework is not an optional activity and things like reading around the subject and other eye roll inducing activities can actually be quite useful

Lizzy sounds good your DH is getting fixed and Randall if we could virtually pop round and drink cider with you to cheer you up you know we would.

DoubleMum · 10/10/2014 20:21

Fingers crossed for Mr Lizzy and his op. xx
Not going so well Chief-wise today, had fish and chips as my kitchen is utterly covered in all the stuff that had to be moved today when both painting upstairs and putting new carpet downstairs. Cooking was not possible!

Lizzylou · 10/10/2014 21:15

Yes, lets all camp out at Randalls, Double can bring fish n chips, Sylv the cookies and me and apples will supply booze, how great would that be?!

RandallFloyd · 10/10/2014 21:21

That would be the best thing ever!

Lizzylou · 10/10/2014 21:28

Everyone else can be in charge of enntering it all into Mfp Wink
Or just bring more booze.

Dinkydoos · 10/10/2014 21:33

Hello! How the devil are your all?
Still fasting here combined with overewting the rest of bloody week so still way heavier than my best. Sigh. You all seem to be doing well though!
Will pop round to Randall with you all, shall I bring sets of nice pyjamas so we can all get comfy and I am in mine already as jeans digging in

Iamapplesnotcakes · 11/10/2014 00:05

Oh yes!, pyjamas for me please. I'm an old fashioned girl, can't be doing with onesies.

I've got cider and Bailey's. covering all bases. And some Lego for Randall's DS. That's how thoughtful I am. Or possibly just ensuring he doesn't interrupt Randalling.

Lizzy can you bring marking? We could whizz through it in no time I'm sure.

BsshBosh · 11/10/2014 15:43

Just gate-crashing to say Go Chiefs!!!! Keep going. I found the Chiefs thread highly motivating. Bowing out (but might lurk) Smile

RandallFloyd · 11/10/2014 16:20

Dinky! Bssh! Good to see you!

You still maintaining like a bad ass, Bssh?

Dinks, I'm in your boat. Only 5lbs over my goal, which isn't too bad considering it's been over a year now I know, but a stone over the low I hit last Christmas so I'm determined to get back to it again.

Come on, Chief, we can do it Smile

RandallFloyd · 11/10/2014 16:21

Cider, baileys and pyjamas.
Now that's my kind of night.

Grin
BsshBosh · 11/10/2014 16:25

Still maintaining :)

RandallFloyd · 11/10/2014 16:34

Excellent work, Chief, I expected nothing less Wink

Iamapplesnotcakes · 11/10/2014 17:36

Bssh! Nice to see you, even if briefly. You were a big inspiration in the days when I seemed to be able to lose weight

Feeling very fed up with the whole weight loss thing today. It's such bloody hard work and you need so many of the 'good' days compared with 'bad' ones.

I've been really focussing on it, thinking about it a lot, planning food, not eating what I'd like to, keeping on it and then last night went out for dinner. Still kept it all in mind, had a crappy dried out chicken kebab and rice which I mostly left because its fattening, instead of the moussaka I really wanted. And yes I had half a dessert with someone else and some wine but its one meal FGS and then today scales back up.

It's just such a slog. Such hard work. I've lost the knack. And then today I eat more. Just because.

Moan, moan, moan.

RandallFloyd · 11/10/2014 18:16

Moan away, that's what we're here for!

Don't worry about the scales the day after an off-day, digestion takes 24-48 hours. It'll even out in a couple of days.

Biggest lesson I learned was never weigh more than once a week. It just isn't accurate and takes you to baaad places.

Pick a weigh-day and stick to it. I tend to go with Wednesday because that's slap bang in the middle is the week. Equidistant from the Randalling at either end.

You can do it, honestly you can.

hinkyhonk · 12/10/2014 08:25

I weigh every day which I know is a bad habit but I find it helps when I've had a good day to see the results.

I do have an app which does a predicted weight thing based on daily weight entries and also breaks down your goals into 3 milestones. I've found that helpful together with mfp.

The 1200 thing does actually work Shock having spent the last decade trying to lose weight purely in my mind by saying I wanted to without actually changing my eating or activity levels at all.

Plus when I've had a wobble I think if I dropped my phone, I wouldn't then stamp on the fucker for good measure. I think I saw that on here and it's stuck with me.

Anyway seem to be a decade low weight today. Last time I was lighter was my brothers wedding pre children! 2lbs off target. So what next?

DoubleMum · 12/10/2014 10:39

2lbs off target! Awesome!

OP posts:
RandallFloyd · 12/10/2014 12:00

That's fantastic, Hinky!

Iamapplesnotcakes · 13/10/2014 14:17

thanks Randall. You're probably right, I've weighed daily when I've been at home for almost 2 years now - often nightly as well if I'm honest. But seeing as I've made no progress since July something needs to change and maybe weekly weighing is a start

Hinky I love the phone analogy - its very true and highlights the ridiculousness of my Saturday. And yes, the realisation that doing something is more effective than just thinking about it is key. I managed 3 stone off by focussing on calories, just got to get on with the next 3.

I was fed up all weekend - work is stressful and if we don't win more work soon I'll be looking for a new job - and not losing when I had expectations of a really good week just threw me off a bit and into chocolate and toast and wine.

But so many of you are doing so well - and have achieved so much - I know it can be done and I need to get a grip.

13.4.4 today. Will henceforth just weigh on Fridays and will post to shame me into good behaviour.

Thanks Chiefs - have a good week

hinkyhonk · 13/10/2014 14:56

it is exhausing isn't it the constant vigilence? hey ho i guess that is just how it is. have a wobble then refocus says she contemplating raiding the vending machine at work...

Iamapplesnotcakes · 13/10/2014 17:29

that's exactly it - i'm worn down with the effort of keeping on it

and btw - step away from the vending machine. No good will come of it

hinkyhonk · 13/10/2014 23:27

Too late and I've randalled with intent this evening at wagamammas. Pretty sure I've borrowed tomorrows calories and possibly the day after a as well. Ah fuck it, i've had fun. Was at the O2 watching Ed Sheeran who AMAZING.

Back on it tomorrow [why isn't there a bored face to add here]

RandallFloyd · 14/10/2014 08:08

The relentlessness is definitely the killer, Apples. I can totally sympathise there.

Sounds like a fab night, Hinky, well jel.

This week is a bust for me. Had nothing to do at the weekend so gave myself two days off instead (ossom idea) and now have some surprise Randalling to do tonight, whoops. Oh well, it's my friend who lives in Scotland so I don't get to see her very often, balls if I'm dieting instead of going to the pub!

DoubleMum · 14/10/2014 14:55

Wearing a size smaller jeans, whoopee!

OP posts:
RandallFloyd · 14/10/2014 17:06

Whoopee indeed!
Fuck you, fat jeans, fuck you right up the bum Grin
