Standards have slipped!

My little part time job has become almost full time, the kids have been home and it's been too hot to keep my running up. The old healthy eating has slipped too. Sugar has crept in and weight has crept on

So, sept 1st

Weigh
Measure
Start running weekly x 3
Back to bootcamp
Juicing and healthy eating

And I'm going to track the lot on myfitnesspal/mapmyrun/fitbug.com

Oh, and for the first time in going to do the water thing. 2 litres a day. That is new for me but achievable I think

So, gives us about 3 1/2 months til Christmas. Anyone else?

Well done tiggy

I will weigh in on Monday. My trainer weighed/measured today and caught a quick glance. Had to convert it, but yes, those 9 pounds are still off!

Johnny - Yeah kind of :) I fill the pan with just enough water to cover it, throw in a chicken stock cube and a bovril cube, boil for a bit then let it reduce. The window open or extractor deals with the smell but I like it anyway so it doesn't bother me too much :)

In other strange news...... So I weighed on on tues - 1 kilo lost taking me to 79 and a few cms.
This morning I felt positively 'thinner' so decided to check the scales.- 2 more kilo's down so 77 today - WTF? Maybe it's the cabbage :)
I'm not going to check again until next week I can have a big shift sometimes even in the space of 24hrs but it's usually at hormonal times and I'm not hormonal at the minute.

tiggyhop · 12/09/2014 15:31

Three mile run done! Slowly but I am happy as it is boiling hot here.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/09/2014 16:41

Very healthy breakfast (yoghurt and seeds) and lunch (oatcakes, celery, carrots, tomatoes, grapes) but have just eaten a mince pie. It was lovely too! :) Not sure yet what we're having for dinner.

HeySoulSister · 12/09/2014 17:05

A mince pie??? Mince pie so early? Please tell me it's still September!

I want a bloody mince pie now!

OP posts:
HeySoulSister · 12/09/2014 17:07

We are having cabbage! With broccoli and chicken and baked potato.... I also have wine as it's Friday! 1 bottle to last me the whole weekend tho

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/09/2014 17:19

Our local Greggs sells mince pies all year round. Grin

tiggyhop · 12/09/2014 21:35

I would KILL for a mince pie right now

HeySoulSister · 13/09/2014 11:15

Bit of a 'bread' blip last night, and really feeling ill from it

Working this eve/aft so will only take in fruit and salad. Dinner tonight might involve pudding and wine

As an aside I was in lidl after school yesterday and bought some 'trail mix'.... Dried fruit and nuts. Felt shakey, hungry and low energy so managed to munch way too much of it.... Two thirds of the pack came to over 800 cals!!! Really cross with myself!

Due to not feeling well and some bad news I have been living off carbs Sad Sad Consequently I haven't weighed myself, I can tell I haven't lost anything by my clothes. I am continuing to log everything on mfp though.

bakingtins · 13/09/2014 22:37

soul it's a bit scary how many calories you can consume without thinking, isn't it? when I started logging food I realised the 200g bars of dark chocolate I'd nibble over an evening or two were 1000 calories Shock

drummer don't be disheartened. Simply by using MFP you'll become more aware of what you are eating. Every day is a new day, don't let a bad patch put you off your goals.

Has anyone discovered any good recipes in the course of eating better? We had Thai fish parcels tonight - rainbow trout fillet, ginger, garlic, red chilli and soy sauce and pak choi wrapped into a foil parcel and steamed 15 minutes - delicious!

CarbeDiem · 13/09/2014 23:44

Evening all.

Soul - if you get the mix again, separate into portions for snacking rather than taking from the whole bag. I have no control unless I do this.

I'm still eating ok, water intake is better but exercise is still an issue. Really need and want to do more but can't.
I've been feeling pretty shitty the last few days, high temp, feel like flu is coming. I had a huge carb craving while shopping today, I literally wanted to throw all the badness in my trolley.
I didn't, and compromised with a white fresh bun to satisfy a craving for frankfurter with onions ketchup and mustard...... Damage limitation :)

Hi, is it too late to join?

I did start slimming world but it wasn't for me (possibly due to the group leader - one guy was struggling and she asked him what the matter was, then interjected with, "no shall I tell you what I think the problem is?" And made a drinky hand motion.)

I do need to lose weight though. Quite a lot and I'd love the support.

bakingtins · 14/09/2014 19:26

Not too late bees the more, the merrier. I'm doing SW off my own back this time, previously went to a group to lose baby weight with DC2 and it worked well for me, this time I'm going it alone, and hoping the thread will keep me on the straight and narrow.
Did you find the SW regime worked for you, was it just the leader you didn't like? (she sounds a bit like the woman from FatFighters on Little Britain) Are you going to stick with SW principles or try something different?

frogbubbles · 15/09/2014 01:42

I've been eating rubbish all weekend, I'm dreading the scales reading in the morning :/ luckily it's gym day so can start fresh tomorrow.

I want to lose 60lbs, I know once I get past the first 5 or 10 I will feel more motivated.

HeySoulSister · 15/09/2014 07:36

Right,it's Monday and I have the week off work. This could be a good thing or a bad thing, not sure yet!

Intend to do loads if exercise. Run a lot and go to my bootcamp classes. They are all juicing at booty, so will join in with that. Got all the veggies bought ready

Not facing the scales til Wednesday as I'm scared I've put it all back on! Once I'm juicing again it will fall back down quick. I can run on juice alone but will be eating an evening meal this time

I baked yesterday. My downfall. Dd off to uni next weekend so she requested cake. Was rather good!

Good luck today everyone!

I'm joining (thanks baking!). Doing WW because life's a bit hectic at the moment and no time for cooking from scratch. If I can lose a stone by Christmas, great - but being realistic even half a stone would be good!

bakingtins · 15/09/2014 07:50

Good for you vashta

I'm 10st1 today, which is 4lb down on last Monday or 1 lb down on last Tuesday. Let's call it 5 lb down over the fortnight, which I'm pretty happy with.
might have a sneaky reweigh tomorrow to see if I can do the Monday-Tuesday magic again

AggressiveBunting · 15/09/2014 07:53

Ah, it's Monday-Funday again

So, I weighed and I stayed the same which is pretty miraculous as after an embarassingly unhealthy week, I ended the weekend with 2 kid's birthday parties yesterday, one of which was own DC so half the birthday cake is now sitting in our kitchen, saying "Eat me, eat me". I was actually happy to discover that the cake topper (F-1 car which was huge and covered in fondant icing) is not edible as that halved the amount of cake left. Saved from disaster by the exercise which went well. Typhoon signal is up now though, so although i did Crossfit this morning, trail running is cancelled tonight (and prob tomorrow) as not really safe to go up in the hills in the dark in case you get blown off or hit by a tree branch. Will try to do treadmill tomorrow morning instead of having a day off as scheduled.

Had salad for lunch. Drinking lots of water.

VashtaNerada · 15/09/2014 07:59

Should have added - my goal sounds underambitious but that's because I really don't want to yoyo diet. I gained 4 stone in pregnancy and have lost 1.5 so far. My plan is to gradually lose a stone a year and keep it off. I'm 12.12 this morning but that's a bit of a fluke, suspect I'm actually more like 13 stone.

RunningKatie · 15/09/2014 08:22

Bad week last week so am still 1lb down.

I have started again with mfp today and am booked into spin tonight.

I am sticking to the 30 day plank challenge, 90 seconds now which hurts! Heavens knows how i'll be on day 30 when it's 5 mins. Shock

BirdyGoLightly · 15/09/2014 09:28

Is it ok to join if I've only started today? If so I've got some catching up to do!

I feel really motivated but the one thing that's putting a doubt in my mind (already) is that when I lose the weight I might get the nice slim body I've always wanted but will also get a tonne of wrinkles too. Someone said on another thread 'a balloon doesn't have wrinkles' and that's kind of what I think. I don't want to age suddenly. Does a anyone else feel they're making a choice between face and body?!

anothercrackatit · 15/09/2014 11:18

I'm going to stop weighing myself on Mondays, I feel it's rather setting myself up to fail! I'm in something of a grump having apparently put 2lbs on over the weekend but I know these things happen and I've been weighing myself too frequently. So... onwards and upwards, on the plus side I'm feeling much more muscular than before, my arms are getting quite a nice shape to them which they've lacked for ages, goodbye Dinner Lady arms!

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 15/09/2014 11:57

Didn't eat well at the weekend. Well that's not quite true. I generally ate healthy foods salads, chicken, soup but had biscuits and lots of Pringles at a friends house and a big cake and coffee yesterday. Dh annoyed me so much I went for a drive and found myself in costa!

I didn't have time to weigh myself this morning. Might change weigh in day to Sunday as I have more time and then I can eat like a pig on Sunday.

Feeling inspired by bakin and carbe my online shopping order has cabbage, trout! park choi, avocado, peppers! mango! spinach! lime and all the other things mentioned.

Welcome to all the newbies.
