Standards have slipped!

My little part time job has become almost full time, the kids have been home and it's been too hot to keep my running up. The old healthy eating has slipped too. Sugar has crept in and weight has crept on

So, sept 1st

Weigh
Measure
Start running weekly x 3
Back to bootcamp
Juicing and healthy eating

And I'm going to track the lot on myfitnesspal/mapmyrun/fitbug.com

Oh, and for the first time in going to do the water thing. 2 litres a day. That is new for me but achievable I think

So, gives us about 3 1/2 months til Christmas. Anyone else?

Another good day, food-wise. Still terrible on the water and exercise fronts though, other than walking. My period has just started though, and I'm getting huge sugar cravings tonight. Tips?

frogbubbles · 09/09/2014 20:30

Good day food wise - very healthy chicken style soya salad and jacket potato for tea with avacado - not sure how calorific those are shall find out when I update mfp

anothercrackatit · 10/09/2014 08:20

According to MFP I'm shocking short on all sorts of vitamins. I think it's a hangover from previous Atkins-ing, I'm afraid of fruit! Also calcium and iron. Going to attempt to put things right. Remus I'd just give in and buy a small bar of dairy milk or whatever you're craving and make up for it elsewhere, look after yourself when you're premenstrual, you deserve it!

CarbeDiem · 10/09/2014 15:29

Remus - I try to have some sweet fruit - a banana or strawbs or a cup of hot chocolate if I'm really going crazy.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 10/09/2014 16:59

I ended up having a teeny weeny portion of granola, and it satisfied the sugar craving senough for me to not start mainlining on bread and lemon curd!

A cup of low calorie hot chocolate is a brilliant suggestion though - will stock up on some of those. Also, I've been really sensible again today (AND have remembered to drink quite a few glasses of water!) so I might have a tiny bar of Green and Blacks or something tonight.

Three pounds lost since last week - 2 more to go to take me to nine stone four, which is an okay weight for me. Ideally though, I'd like to get to nine stone.

HeySoulSister · 10/09/2014 17:59

Feel like I'm really back on track now. Clothes feel looser and I just feel better really.

Well done remus

good day here - porridge for breakfast, chicken salad and an apple for lunch, stir fry for dinner. Three school runs, a shopping trip with the buggy and a dog walk - I am knackered!

mummypower123 · 10/09/2014 20:30

another good day trying to drink more water. Went on exercise bike for an hour, i feel like my waist is getting smaller :)

HeySoulSister · 10/09/2014 21:26

Didn't drink enough water today though, need to sort that.

Bad day - eaten three yorkie biscuits

Back to it tomorrow Hmm

anothercrackatit · 11/09/2014 08:32

12st 9.5lb this morning, something is working! I love the combination of the fitbit wristband which motivates me to move around more and MFP. I feel like I've taken control of my health. Having said that of course, I've been here before and I'm the queen of comfort eating and denial. Got to keep on top of it.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/09/2014 17:19

A bad day today in that I just haven't eaten enough, so just not very sensible.

Yoghurt and seeds for breakfast and a packet of Go-Ahead biscuits for lunch. That's it so far. Quorn shepherd's pie and lots of vege for dinner later - I just hope I can hold out until then!

HeySoulSister · 11/09/2014 18:03

More water today. Got tomorrow off so can do some exercise and get out for a run. Also, can get ahead with some juicing

Today been ok with food. Tonight might be trickier

Just added up my day's food so far and it is only 310 calories, so am now really looking forward to a lovely big evening meal! And I've just weighed myself and am another pound down. SO much easier not to over-eat when at work! :)

bakingtins · 11/09/2014 19:20

I made a lovely salad to take into work for lunch today (I'm on mat leave but it was a bring'n'share lunch for a leaving do) based on a Jamie 15 min meal.
You get spinach, mint, coriander, red chilli, couple of spring onions and blitz in food processor, add chopped peppers, mango, avocado and feta, and cooked quinoa ( I used orzo pasta) then dress with juice of a lime and bit of olive oil. It was gert lush, as they say in Brizzle. The recipe was supposed to have Cajun chicken as well but I left out that bit, and with the chicken it is only 500 cals so must be ok without. I was v good and stuck to salad and crudités and avoided all the sausage rolls and cake.
Baked salmon, a few new pots and big garden salad for dinner. Yum yum.

CarbeDiem · 11/09/2014 20:52

Hi all - I'm still plodding along choosing sensibly.
I'm finding my appetite is quite low at the moment but I am enjoying what I'm eating.
I made a big pan of stewed cabbage cooked in beef stock earlier to have with meat and veg as an alternative to potato - so that will last a few days.
I love cabbage even though it's not really a friend to my tummy :)
Simple things and all that :)

I did have an urge for a fresh croissant today but resisted Not only is it full of cals but I know it will bloat me if I allow wheat back in.

Keep on doing well everyone.

anothercrackatit · 11/09/2014 21:26

I had those Barenaked Noodles for supper for the second time. Both times I've come over all peculiarly hot afterwards, does anyone know what that might be?

CarbeDiem · 11/09/2014 21:35

Do they come with a sachet of flavour?
I get like that sometimes, hot/slightly sweaty and sometimes shaky too, it's because of the E numbers - I can't remember it off the top of my head but the one that gets me is used for spice.

anothercrackatit · 11/09/2014 21:53

No sachet, thank you Carbe, just a weird collection of things I'd normally avoid or have never heard of, still, it's low cal! Konjac flour, calcium hydroxide, soybean flour and oatmeal flour.

CarbeDiem · 11/09/2014 22:13

I'd put money on it being one of the preservatives/additives. Calcium hydroxide = preservative number 526 has the potential to cause problems.
Google the name of each ingredient and look for your symptoms listed - you'll then be able to eliminate it/them.

Diet/lowcal/even allergy friendly is not always healthy in other ways.

anothercrackatit · 11/09/2014 22:31

Thanks Carbe I'll do that. Feeling better now but it was a bit alarming. On the plus side I'm totally full!

AggressiveBunting · 12/09/2014 06:21

Anyone who read my food diary this week would not think that the person concerned was trying to lose a few pounds, put it that way! Particular highlights include fried fish tacos (bloody delish though) a cheese and bacon burger with string fries, and a haagan daaz icecream sandwich. Even my healthy lunch efforts have been thwarted by insane queues at the salad counter. On the plus side, it's been another good week on the exercise front. Took 10 mins off my 20km trail time which gives me a glimmer of hope that i might be able to get round this race in 4 weeks time. Tough hilly 15km tomorrow- 1000m up, 1000m down and then a 6k run into the finish. Weirdly I'm quite looking forward to it.

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 12/09/2014 09:29

bakintins your lunch sounds lovely. I know you used pasta but I bought some quinoa at the start of the year but haven't used it. I feel quite inspired now so will try it next week.

carbediem by stewed cabbage do you just mean boiled? Doesn't that make the house smell I'm interested in trying that.

I have had a really good week so far. I have had low cal versions of fajitas, veggie curry, prawn salad, steak. As someone up thread suggested I bought some low cal hot chocolate for when I had a sweet craving. I weighed myself today and I am exactly the same as I was eleven days ago before last weeks binge. If I can stay in control this weekend I'll be really happy.

tiggyhop · 12/09/2014 13:41

Hi all. Bust week traveling, hence the lack of posts, but did my Friday weigh in and another pound down, making a total of 4lbs, so pretty pleased (and relieved). Haven't done much exercise all week so off to run 30mins shortly...well done all.

HeySoulSister · 12/09/2014 13:43

baking that sound amazing. Think I'll give it a go as I've ( for once) gotosy of those ingredients in!

Think I'll do the cabbage thing too except my teenagers will want it. Nothing is sacred in this house, not even stewed cabbage! Grin

Did a 4 mile run this morning then a boxing bootcamp workout for an hour. Bacon and eggs ( low carb) for brekkie. Too full for lunch yet.

bunting I'm still in awe of your trail running. Good luck tomorrow! It's quite warm still, too warm for me to run very far
