Standards have slipped!

My little part time job has become almost full time, the kids have been home and it's been too hot to keep my running up. The old healthy eating has slipped too. Sugar has crept in and weight has crept on

So, sept 1st

Weigh
Measure
Start running weekly x 3
Back to bootcamp
Juicing and healthy eating

And I'm going to track the lot on myfitnesspal/mapmyrun/fitbug.com

Oh, and for the first time in going to do the water thing. 2 litres a day. That is new for me but achievable I think

So, gives us about 3 1/2 months til Christmas. Anyone else?

carbe so sorry to hear that. Your DH sounds lovely and caring though
bunting I work in DIY retail... Some days are calmer than others but everyone else in my dept can't lift for one reason or another, so most of the climbing and heavy lifting is down to me. Great big 10 litre containers of paint etc, it's a great workout ! Smile

Carbe Thanks
I fee like I've done OK for my first day. A couple of bananas for breakfast, a chocolate milk, sandwich, crisps and am planning on having gammon steaks with a much smaller portion of potatoes, and a much larger than normal portion of veg. This is such a vast improvement on previous days. I'm exercising lots of will power as well as ds is having chocolate cake next to me!

CarbeDiem · 22/09/2014 18:53

Thanks Soul - he is lovely and tries his best. I know it's not easy for him too. He keeps telling me it'll happen and there's no reason to believe it won't as we've both been tested and we're both fine but after almost 3 years, on and off, of trying and still nothing :(

I'll feel better in a few days ready crack on again - just feeling sorry for myself at the moment :)

Ooh your job sounds very manual. I used to work in a shop and we weren't allowed to use the lifts unless we had heavy/big things, my stock was placed on the top floor 8 X 15 steps, ten times a day minimum for 4 years had my arse in the best shape it's EVER been. :)
I've just given myself a thought..... I live on the top floor of an apartment block..... I wonder if the neighbours would mind me running up and down like an idiot. I can pretend that I don't understand them if they object :)
Or I could just do step ups on 'my' bit of the stairs. I will have to try.

CarbeDiem · 22/09/2014 18:54

Xposted - Thanks Wibbly.

CarbeDiem · 22/09/2014 19:00

Gah! hit send before finishing.

I do that now Wibbly - less potato, pasta or carby stuff and much more veg/salad. I don't miss it to be honest, it feels like an easy switch.

If you're watching carbs - check the choc milk - there's quite a few in there. How do I know you ask, because I'm a banana milk fiend :) I've knocked it on the head hugely and have a tiny carton maybe on a weekend now.

Well done! keep up the good work and you'll soon see results. Did you measure so that you can compare later?

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 22/09/2014 19:19

Oh Carbe so sorry to hear that. More Flowers. Wish I could think of something useful to say but I'm not very good at that.

Squeezed into some too tight jeggings today, was pleased they fitted, but realised after I left the house (to go shopping with a friend) that they were a little snug in the nether regions. Was bloody uncomfortable. Was convinced all morning I had camel toe and obsessively looked to check every two minutes. Fortunately it was paranoia. I don't understand it. I'm only about 4lbs heavier than I was when I bought the trousers and they were fine. Maybe they shrunk rather than I got fatter? I like that idea except I have about four pairs of them (the famous marks and spencer 5 pocket jeggings) and I'll be upset if I have to buy more.

tiggyhop · 22/09/2014 19:25

Sorry to hear about that Carbe. Nothing useful to add apart from sympathy.

Well I have been a bit absent from the thread, and I guess absent from the weight loss. I haven't dared weigh myself. Bad on food and wine but good on exercise, so that's something. I have been out for a combined bike/run session 3 times and ran 3 miles last night, plus adult gymnastics class. So I shouldn't be too down on myself I guess. Will risk the scales on Friday...

VashtaNerada · 22/09/2014 19:31

Oh Carbe that's shit. Well done for not eating everything in sight.
Lost half a pound this week, which I'm quite happy with!

VashtaNerada · 22/09/2014 19:32

tiggy - I always think that weighing yourself when you don't want to is a really important first step. Good luck for Friday!

wibblyjelly · 22/09/2014 19:42

carbe haven't measured yet, will try later tonight if I have time, but I may just measure myself.
Johnny I'm planning on sorting out a couple of my clothes drawers, so hopefully that will distract me.

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 23/09/2014 16:27

Hope everyone is having a good day. I had soup for lunch and I'm now going to roast a big tray of vegetables which will go into enchiladas today and something else tomorrow. Dh is out tomorrow so possibly a very spicy curry - dh can't cope with more than a korma!

CarbeDiem · 23/09/2014 16:35

Afternoon all.
Feeling a little better than I did yesterday. Thanks for the sympathy guys, it means a lot Thanks

Brekkie today was a nutri-bullet concoction of avocado, celery, ground oats and flax seeds mixed with a bit milk and water.
Lunch was a huge corn on the cob with a little butter and later some dried goji berries as a snack.
Dinner will be chicken breast seasoned with a little olive oil and whatever spices I throw on then baked in an oven bag, some new potato and home made coleslaw.

carriewintermeadow · 23/09/2014 16:58

I've nc'ed but have contributed before. I've had 5 days of sensible eating and lost in those 5 days 5 lbs Smile Very happy with that. Also lost 3.5 inches altogether in total.

I'm really proud of that, as I've been feeling awful with a rubbish cold and sinus problems most of the time, usually I would seek comfort in carbs Blush but this time I've stuck to home made veg soup and lots of black decaf coffee - and I mean lots!

HeySoulSister · 23/09/2014 18:20

Really struggling with my water intake, just can't seem to drink enough

Food has been ok but I'm glad to be going back to work. No more baking sessions ( for the kids!)

I'm another pound down this week, bringing my September loss total to 10 pounds so far. Was on borderline of 14/16 so definitely out of size 16 now both upper and lower body. At almost 6 feet tall I can't go any lower than a 12 at a push really. Looked too thin last time

HeySoulSister · 23/09/2014 18:23

carrie wow at your inch loss!! Really difficult to eat right when you feel ill

Think I should sort my clothes drawers as well... Get rid of anything too big so I can't 'grow' back into them

carriewintermeadow · 23/09/2014 18:31

Thank you Smile

wibblyjelly · 23/09/2014 20:09

Had an OK day. Banana and yogurt for breakfast, left over sweet potato, carrots, sweet corn, mushroom and a bit of gammon for lunch. Now just waiting for dh to finish a Turkey ceaser salad. I may have also had a triangle of ds's prawn toast. No will power...

bakingtins · 23/09/2014 22:08

I lost a pound since yesterday - def need to stop weighing on Mondays - taking me to 6lb in total. One stone to go...
Ok day food wise; porridge with seeds and berries, leftover veggie chilli for lunch, chicken salad and quinoa for tea.
Does anyone eat quinoa? I got some to use in my nice Californian salad recipe (posted about it up thread made with orzo pasta) and followed the instructions on the packet, but it was a bit mushy and tasteless. What did I do wrong?
Finally actually did the first HIIT workout rather than just thinking about it Blush and now my legs hurt. First vibration session tomorrow. I'd really be chuffed if it works, it is just up the road and I can pop in on my way back from school, they don't mind me taking DD in the pram with me. There has to be a catch, right?

carriewintermeadow · 23/09/2014 22:24

Had another good day, 3 egg omelette for breakfast, homemade vegetable soup for lunch and pork loin steak with carrots, broccoli and coleslaw for dinner and a snack of 5 cocktail sausages. Drank lots of decaf coffee and water.

AggressiveBunting · 24/09/2014 02:07

Well done losers, and glad you're feeling a bit better Carbe.

Having a better week this week and focusing on drinking more water. and less wine- last couple of weeks have been madness and mid-week casual glasses of wine has become the norm, so DH and I have decided to go dry Mon-Thurs (to be fair, DH is not the main culprit). Have set reminders on my work calendar so I go and get a glass of water every 90 mins.

Yesterday - Damage limitation for breakfast- at a meeting and the least bad thing was tuna finger sandwiches so had 3 of those with a coffee. Had shrimp tacos for lunch (the corn shells aren't exactly clean eating but I'm keeping the carbs for now due to increasing running mileage) and home-made chicken and veggie curry and rice for dinner (tonnes of veggies- peppers, green beans and ocra). Did Crossfit on Monday and this morning and 7 miles on the treadmill last night after work. Don't really like treadmill but I was a bit pushed for time. Tonight I'm taking this guy who's just moved here trail running as he doesn't know the route (I know it sounds like I spend a lot of time in the dark with random men but it's only partially true) and then tomorrow I've got my big 20km trail run, which'll be interesting given tonight's unscheduled one. This is my last heavy week of training before I start dialling back for my race.

tibni · 24/09/2014 09:19

FFS - I have split my trousers! Got to get serious about this!
Good motivation, I am going to have to be filmed for a countywide campaign running for 3 months!!!! Found out yesterday. eek!

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 24/09/2014 09:50

Well done on losses everyone. That's brilliant. I weighed today and had put on .2lbs but that must just be normal fluctuations as foodwise I've had a good week.

baking I used quinoa after you mentioned your orzo pasta thing and it worked whereas previously it's always been mushy and tasteless when I did it. I find cous cous and bulgar wheat can be bland too so I always add tonnes of fresh herbs (coriander, mint or parsley) to them and lots of lemon juice or stock. I bought some more quinoa and now I'm a bit nervous to try it again in case I make mush!

tibni are we in the presence of a celeb?

Lots of vegetables for me today. I have an innocent veg pot for lunch (on offer with ocado at the moment) and then leftover veggies from yesterday. Might have them with an omelette.

bakingtins · 24/09/2014 14:48

first vibration plate session today went well, DD slept through it. I'm not convinced by the hype but for £14 it's worth a shot for a few weeks. It's an odd sensation, my bum can jiggle enough by itself without assistance! They seem to be flogging Herbalife, but I ticked "no, I don't want diet advice" and it wasn't mentioned again.

tibni · 24/09/2014 16:47

celeb? gosh no but that didn't stop my best mate taking the proverbial all last night and kindly pointing out the camera puts pounds on you (we go back to being dumped in cot together and she is bigger than me so can get away with such comments Smile ) Bought trousers size up today Sad but working on it

CarbeDiem · 24/09/2014 21:46

Evening all,

Well done losers, we're getting some good results between us.

I braved the weigh in/measure today as I felt decidedly not too bloated.
My measurements have fallen again - waist has dropped a whole inch in the last week, mummy tummy half an inch off and hips 1.5 inches - which I'm quite surprised about.
Thighs are the same. Boobs have dropped to 36' (were 39 at start) but I can see it's back fat coming off not cup size yet.

Weight - has gone up but could be water, I'll wait until AF fecks off completely then check again.

Breakfast was a nutribullet shake.
I've not eaten anything since, just liquids, as I feel out of sorts and have no appetite. I might have a bowl of soup or porridge in a while though as I feel a bit light headed. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow.

Keep up the good work ladies.
