...but I don't know what.

I am sick of being on a diet, off a diet, on another diet, off that diet to, ad infinitum.

I desperately need to lose the two stone I put on while pregnant four years ago, but I can't seem to stick to anything. I am currently falling off the slimming world wagon, having previously tried most things out there - WW, low carb in various guises, hypno, cal counting...

Not sure what I hope to gain from posting this. I am just so fed up of it all and so fed up of being fat and needed somewhere to rant.

As you were.

I'm hovering just around that weight too! Half a stone off before Christmas would be great.

That won't hurt - I buy those small packets of milky stars for dd and pinch one (or two) now and again.

Hello! Have had a terrible week due to work stress and lack of willpower. I use MFP but must get into the habit of logging it when I have a bad day instead of seeing it written down. I think I will go with the 7lb by Christmas too. I was 149lb on Halloween and 153lb this morning! Think I may be heading in the wrong direction...

Thanks. I just need to be more organised!! At the moment, I am getting into work for 7, leaving at 7 and bringing work home which I am eating my way through! Time to break out the slow cooker. I'm less likely to stuff 4 bowls of casserole than 4 bags of crisps. Will try and rein it in this weekend and weigh again on Monday. I'm off to park run in a bit. Hopefully you are all having a bit more success.

CrumblyMumbly · 08/11/2014 11:27

That's a long day, not surprised it's affecting your eating. Well done on the running though - especially in this weather!

thobblywighs · 09/11/2014 07:24

Yesterday was better. Maybe not perfect, but better and I have an online shop coming later so lots of healthy food. Just need a few extra hours in the day and I will be sorted! Hope that you are having a good weekend

CrumblyMumbly · 09/11/2014 18:59

Yes thanks - have been keeping busy, clearing out stuff for charity shop (fatter clothes as I'm not going back!). This distracts me from snacking...hopefully. One day at a time eh?

Yay. New day. Breakfast eaten, veg soup ready for lunch and spag bol for tea. That's it! No more junk food. I'm back on it. Have a good day.

thobblywighs · 10/11/2014 06:34

Crumbly, good idea about getting rid of bigger clothes. Am going to do that next weekend. It's only one dress size but I don't want to go back there!! Still aiming to get to 10 stone for Christmas.

antarctic · 11/11/2014 11:25

No change on the scales for me this week... Sigh.

CrumblyMumbly · 11/11/2014 13:02

Keep going antarctic. I know you're all going to hate me now but I'm amazed that this week I've lost 4 and a 1/2 pounds. I gave myself a stern talking to last week and have stopped all the evening nibbling and extras through the day that I conveniently forget about. Got my bum on the static bike and also have done lots of de-cluttering (to keep my mind off chocolate!) We can do this - don't give up.

May I cautiously join this thread? I'm not in UK so not very familiar with lbs and stones. . I'm actually BF my DD2 but still would like to lose around 6 kg to get to 62 kg which seems a realistic target .. I have had binge eating problems since 14yrs old even if luckily they didn't take over my life, I don't want to rush too much or diet too strictly .. I'd just like to stop overeat ... I'm particularly sugar addicted but I don't think I can completely ban sweet stuff otherwise I would end up binging again. . How does this thread works? Do you weekly update weight? I wish everybody here success! I would be happy to reach my target by April for my birthday ... but today was definitely a bad day!

antarctic · 14/11/2014 07:13

Well done crumbly, that's a fantastic loss! Welcome mozzarella.

Eighty, I'm still feeling mentally motivated, but sadly that doesn't seem to be translated into my eating habits at the moment! Today will be better

CrumblyMumbly · 14/11/2014 13:34

Welcome mozzarella - the more the merrier! Thanks antarctic though was back to nibbling last night so my talking to wore off! Had my healthy berry porridge this morning and cut up some pineapple to nibble on for my sweet fix. My dp is off work at the mo and he and my dd just seem to graze all day - even though I do feed them (honestly!).

thobblywighs · 14/11/2014 21:41

Hello! Back to 149lb today. Moving in the right direction. I'm also on MFP. Plan is that if. I have to write it down, I won't eat it?

CrumblyMumbly · 15/11/2014 09:40

Well done! I found writing everything down helps - otherwise you conveniently forget things. Also if you've had a good week, you can look back at that too. Have a saintly weekend!

Hello, all, any advice for a newcomer to this game?

I had to see my GP recently, who told me to lose weight and take more exercise. I also need to reduce my blood pressure, which seems to mean cutting down on salt. I am 5ft 7, I weigh about 12st / 80kg. I say 'about', as my scales don't seem very accurate - I can lose half a stone if I stand on them in a particular way Grin

Anyway. BMI shows me as well into the overweight category. I do Pilates, I have taken up lunchtime and evening walks, as I'm not really a gym bunny. It's the food bit that's baffling me. I've made some changes to my diet but don't think I was overeating. Would love to hear your opinions.

Breakfast was fruit juice, no-added-sugar Alpen with full cream milk, 1 cup tea with a little sugar. I have switched to Shredded Wheat.

Lunch was either 2 bread rolls, flora, meat (ham or chicken or turkey) plus salad leaves, blob of low fat mayo. Switched to home made veg soup plus ryvita or 1 roll.

Evening is things like spag bols, pasta dishes with tom sauce, pork chops & boiled pots, steak with boiled pots, casseroles - pretty much everything is home made, always with veg (broccoli, carrot, courgettes, parsnip etc).

Coffee during the day, splash of semi-skimmed milk, no sugar. Snacks are apples, and the odd scone, or a chocolate biscuit at the weekend.

We eat out once or twice a month, usually just starter and main, and I watch what I choose.

About once a month we do a cooked breakfast with bacon, fried or scrambled egg, wholemeal toast.

Alcohol is about 1 unit per day (wine).

We don't do take-aways, I rarely eat crisps, I have the odd chocolate.

How can I cut down and lose weight? (Sorry for the essay!)

CrumblyMumbly · 16/11/2014 10:39

Hi and welcome. Obviously I'm no expert or I wouldn't be here! I'm following the Slimming World diet which would incorporate all the food you like with a few low fat tweaks. Your exercise looks really good so that helps. Personally I would stop the fruit juice which is full of sugar and cut out sugar in tea if you can. Switch to a lower fat milk and poss porridge with fruit for breakfast? Veg soup with one small wholemeal roll sounds good. All your dinners sound good try to have at least a third of veg on your plate and use 1 cal cooking spray. I found I am eating more than I ever did and have lost 3 stone since mid june. Helps to write everything down just in case the odd chocolate turns out to be 10 (oh that's just me!)

Coffi · 16/11/2014 22:33

Can I join too please. Smile

I want and need to lose a couple of stone. Am inspired by your weight loss Crumbly. It is brilliant actually. I shall look online at Slimming World. My plan is to eat just real food. Meat, fruit, veg, salad, fish etc as much as possible. Cut out added fats but included fatty fish for healthy oils once a week.
Sky your eating sounds ok doesn't it but if your gaining weight/maintaining on it maybe add up the calories you are eating by weighing everything you eat in a day. That will give you some idea of how you might be taking in too much. Its difficult isn't it. I find it harder now Im older too. Doesn't come off at the drop of hat like it used to.
