Bad start. Had a cupcake with my breakfast. Mil made them and brought them over yesterday. Everyone else had two yesterday and I had none. Dh had one this morning and there was one left and it called to me. Will have to be good for the rest of the day.

dottyaboutstripes · 17/07/2014 11:43

I had a really good day yesterday - sweet potato, mushy peas (ok processed food but still! One of my faves!) and chicken breast wrapped in lean bacon. Dh was shovelling Haagen Daaz in afterwards but I declined. He was horrified but it wasn't worth the calories in my opinion, I'd rather shift these few lbs!
So this morning I've been to DSs sports day on what's the hottest day of the year and I feel a big sick and mega headache from the sun. Came home abdicate a banana & Greek yogurt, I'm taking my 5 yr old to a soft play party later (my poor head!) but will just have a coffee but have a lovely steak waiting for dinner, probably with a green salad.
No formal exercise but walking to the station then the soft play will take an hour so that'll do for today Smile

nilbyname · 17/07/2014 11:44

tikken i dont think that is the end of the world. Go for a run around the block Grin

trikken · 17/07/2014 11:53

I cant run, my walking is faster. Grin

I will do some hula-hooping or something though.

dottyaboutstripes · 17/07/2014 12:38

Ooh I missed the breakfast cupcake! That's the kind of thing I would do Grin
I'd love to hula hoop but have never managed it(apart from the eating kind, obvs Wink)

MaggieMcVitie · 17/07/2014 12:57

On nights at the moment which is always good for weight loss as just can't seem to manage to eat in the middle of the night. Have just had scrambled egg on toast for breakfast/lunch, will grab something before I start my shift and then take a porridge pot for a snack later on. Feel quite motivated knowing there are other people with me!!

changeeverything · 17/07/2014 18:44

Hi everyone :)

Today ive had a mexican style bean salad with guacamole and cheese for lunch.

Then I had this weeks cheat meal...2 m&s sausage rolls with ketchup!! Grin

Will have some fruit and greek yog soon

have a good day everyone x

Just had prawns with pasta for dinner, leftover lamb curry for lunch and muesli for breakfast. Sounds like a lot but I'm pretty much doing three meals a day with minimal snacks and almost no sugar. Target of 1500 cals is achievable, especially if I exercise (just pilates today, but mfp calculates it as 163 cals/hr which enables a late evening snack).

Switched the Aga off the other day so am limited to one-pot meals now, which will be a challenge.

dottyaboutstripes · 17/07/2014 20:30

Everyone's food sounds good!
My day started well but turned bad! Dh met is after DSs party and we went for a coffee - except I say down and he bought me the most enormous cream scone I've ever seen. So of course I ate it Wink however I couldn't manage the whole lot. We still haven't had dinner and tbh I'm not hungry anyway. It's not a total disaster points-wise but I'm sure using calories on healthier choices is the way to go!

changeeverything · 17/07/2014 21:53

Dotty...I think if we're aiming to eat healthily for the majority of the time then it makes us more mindful of our food. So if you ate the scone, enjoyed it ...and didn't let it derail you for the rest of the day then no real harm done.

Previously, id have eaten the scone and then decided thst I had wrecked my diet plans and use it as an excuse to go off on a mindless eating spree!!

hope u all had a good day. Trikken hope yiu feel better soon. Im for the gym tomorrow, it'll be good to get some exercise fitted in.

all the best for tomorrow x

Everything you are all saying is so true for me. Previously if I had had one lapse of any size I would give up completely and that would be it. I would just go back to how I was before. I really feel like something has klick end in my head, I can have what ever I want with no guilt and just make up for it. I really hope I can stick with this mindset.

I have had a really good couple of days, lots of healthy foods in small portions. I am feeling really good too, I dropped a bag of clothes at the charity shop that don't fit, the size 22's are all gone and my 20's won't be far behind as they are fitting well with room to breath! Still doing my small goals though, the bigger picture freaks me out too much to think about. Looking forward to the scales in Monday.

Mojito100 · 18/07/2014 11:45

I have been pretty good. Unfortunately not as planned in my meals as I would like or as regular as I should be. Things are a bit hectic here so meals aren't at meal times however I am still eating small portions and trying for healthy options. Could have had maltesers yesterday but opted for almonds. Today had some small chocolates at work so being good for rest of day. I'm hoping I am still at 79.4kg for weigh in on Monday. Have a good weekend everyone. It sounds like we are all eating better than we would have without this thread and maybe even exercising more than we would have. My exercise this week has been bad but I will take the dogs for a long walk on both days to help myself and them.

rivierliedje · 18/07/2014 19:41

Goodness, this week has been difficult. Started a new placement and the hours are a lot longer, I have to stay in on site accomodation which only has a tiny fridge and a microwave (and the staff canteen) and it's all a bit overwhelming really. I might have been eating my stress away (the whole reason I need to be on this thread).
Anyway, at least I had the salad bar option for lunch today, the only carby bit of it was the pasta, but I made sure most of my plate was veg.

I'm working a 24 hour tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes.

lunar1 · 19/07/2014 09:25

That's a long shift, hope it goes ok!

How's everyone's weekend going? Had a takeaway last night so I'll be making up for it today. Need to find a distraction as the fridge keeps calling me.

dottyaboutstripes · 19/07/2014 17:37

I've been really sensible so far but not having the best of days and really REALLY want alcohol!!! I'm trying to be strong but don't know if I can resist

changeeverything · 19/07/2014 18:49

Hi all :)
Weekend not too bad but had some crisps with my wine last night. Need to get strict again!!

Dotty, im also trying to stay off the wine tonight, heading to gym first thing tomorrow so thats a good deterrent. Stay strong!

Really hoping for a loss on Monday. Have a good evening everyone x

dottyaboutstripes · 19/07/2014 18:54

I opened a bottle of wine and had one glass. That was enough to stop me thinking about it so I think it was for the best as I would probably have eaten more if I hadn't had that.
My workout tomorrow will be housework (yawn!)

rivierliedje · 19/07/2014 20:26

I missed the canteen opening hours for lunch today, so have only had sandwiches, half a cucumber and some fruit. Very boring, but at least I've been busy running back and forth everywhere today.

Hopefully there will be a result on Monday.

Chicksville007 · 20/07/2014 10:25

Hi, can I join you please? I'm looking to lose about a stone. I started a diet with my husband last week and I've been eating nothing but salad and berries. My son (5yrs)broke up from school two weeks ago so have been active with him. Plus I have a cross trainer at home which I've been working out on for about an hour a day before bed. Yesterday was a bad day because we went to a BBQ and I had steak, ribs, wine and cheesecake :( Today I have to go to my Monster-in-Laws (yes I mean monster!!) for lunch but will eat very light and have no pudding. Then back on cross trainer tonight.

I don't I'm over weight but I seem to be carrying extra fat under my skin if you get what I mean. I'm like a fat thin person. It sounds really odd but I think if I lose a bit and tone up I'll be fine.

I'll post what I've eaten each day like the other girls and fingers crossed we'll all be skinny minnies by mid August xx

Chicksville007 · 20/07/2014 19:03

Quick update.

Midday 1 hour on cross trainer
Sunday Lunch (medium size) was chicken
5 glasses if water
3 cups of tea (skimmed milk)
8pm planning another hour on cross trainer

Then tomorrow will be back to salads (no dressings or mayo) and berries.

changeeverything · 20/07/2014 20:32

Hi chicksville, welcome :)

Its weigh in tomorrow ...fingers crossed for a good result for us all x

dottyaboutstripes · 20/07/2014 22:54

Hi chicksville, I get what you mean about being fat but thin (though I'm just a bit of a porker Wink), sounds like you're doing well!
Good luck to everyone weighing in tomorrow - I'm glad I have 2 extra days to make up for today! I are a bit more than I'd planned but it was frozen yogurt rather than ice cream so not as bad as it could've been!

Chicksville007 · 20/07/2014 22:56

Yes, fingers crossed. I've not got on the scales yet, I'm going to wait until my clothes feel a little looser first. My goal is to get back into my skinny jeans I wore before I had my son 5 years ago x

rivierliedje · 21/07/2014 07:59

Lost half a kilo. So down to 65.6.

Chicksville007 · 21/07/2014 08:20

Well done rivierliedje that's good news. Bum to big for jeans, can't even get tops of legs in :(

I read last night that if you start the day with a full glass of water it wakes your body up and starts the fat burning process quicker, so just had two. I've cut out all carbs and everything sweet. I've also invested in a slim tone ab belt to shock my tummy back into shape. I put it on for the first time last night and honestly, it was like a punch in the gut before I figured out how to turn it down!! Muscles feel a little sore today so must have done something. Apart from winding me 50 times a minute x
