I didn't have a great day food wise today but I'm refusing to beat myself up I ate small portions and am happy to count it as a cheats day. I'm trying to lose 3kg towards my 10 so am focused on the smaller goal with a bit more exercise thrown in.

I'll keep you posted. Good luck all.

I think the reality of it is that not one of us is going to live our life never having a treat. If we can lose weight gradually while having treats we are more likely to keep the weight off long term....and that's how I'm justifying the Danish I just ateSmile

IScreamForIceCream · 08/08/2014 17:28

Nice justification, Lunar - I shall probably use that.

Mine was: 'well, I need to ensure that my body does not think it is in starvation mode'.

rivierliedje · 08/08/2014 18:02

Great justifications lunar and IScream.
I have one too. The doctor I've been working with has given me a (tiny, 10 gram) piece of chocolate in the afternoon. I could have refused, but it would have been rude and she has to give me marks for my placement, I'm not taking the chance over 10 grams of dark chocolate a day Grin

Today is going to be tough, I'm out tonight and it's going to be booze and an Indian. I have meal planned for the day and will only be having 300 cals before I go but will still be over by bedtime! Hopefully on Mondays weigh in I will have lost a pound and next week will have to be a really good one.

What's everyone else up to this weekend?

lunar1 · 10/08/2014 11:05

Didn't do too bad with food last night wine is a different story though! Weigh in day for me tomorrow, I think I will have lost 1lb if I'm lucky. I want next week to be really good though as I want to be out of the 16's!!. I'm going to measure myself tomorrow too, hopefully I will have lost inches from somewhere.

frankie5 · 10/08/2014 11:12

Hi I'm back from my holiday and I lost another pound so I am now 10s1. Very happy!

I had lovely food on holiday and gave myself a rule of no sausages at breakfast, and only ice cream for dessert, no cakes. Ate loads of nice fruit, eggs, fish and veg. I ate a lot and did have treats too, but I really only ate at meal times and did not snack.

Back home now, with cupboard full of biscuits etc so the challenge is to now keep up the good habits!

Keep on it everyone - you can do it?

MrsDesperado · 10/08/2014 13:20

Good luck with the move in Tuesday dotty - what a big change for you! Hope it a goes as smooth as it can.

change have you talked to anyone about getting injured when increasing your running? Could be a simple adjustment you need - new shoes, or a specific exercise afterwards or something? I've only recently started running again after having the dcs, I'm really enjoying it again. I'd forgotten how much it lifts my mood and I love the sense of achievement I feel afterwards. Give it another go if you can! Or could you keep your distance shorter?

Past few days been ok, i had a couple of beers and some wine last night which I'd been looking forward to since Monday, but then I inhaled half a massive bag of fecking haribos of all things, so I'm not very happy with myself today. I don't know what came over me! They are filthy and delicious in equal measures.

Really hoping for a loss tomorrow after last week's failed efforts I've been quite good all week do I'm hoping last night hasn't ruined a my efforts!

Mojito100 · 10/08/2014 14:13

I love the justifications so will keep those up my sleeve Grin. I've had a good weekend but not outstanding. I did have a small chocolate yesterday but otherwise have pretty much been maintaining small portions and trying to do healthy. Let's hope my dodgy home scales tell the right story tomorrow.

lunar1 · 11/08/2014 06:48

Somehow I've managed 3lbs this week despite all the accidental carb attacks! I have kept within my 1200 cals every day though.

So I'm now 16st 3lbs, I would really like to be below 16 in the next couple of weeks.

MrsDesperado · 11/08/2014 08:27

0.5lb down, to 9st 3.75, 4.25 lost in total. So on average around a lb a week which is what 'they' recommend (though it feels painfully slow to me!) I'd really like to be a smidge under 9 stone in time for a wedding I'm going to in a few weeks.

Still no inches lost off waist - Am a rectangle! Am I ever going to see a loss here?!

3lb that's brilliant lunar

Stay focussed everybody!

lunar1 · 11/08/2014 09:48

Well done Mrs, another half pound you will never weigh again!

MrsDesperado · 11/08/2014 10:38

Let's hope so lunar!

trikken · 11/08/2014 12:51

I've been good. I just turned down the offer of a pink blobby man (iced bun basically). Although did have a small sausage roll but have not snacked at all.

lunar1 · 11/08/2014 13:36

Glad you had a gook holiday Frankie and managed to lose a pound, stay away from those biscuits!!

lunar1 · 11/08/2014 13:38

Well done in turning down the blobby man Trikken, I turned down some celebrations earlier.

lunar1 · 11/08/2014 13:39

Hope you got on ok on the scales mojito.

Sorry for so many posts, I'm on my phone and have a shocking memory. Just had a chicken salad for my lunch, hoping for a good day today.

Mojito100 · 11/08/2014 15:17

Well done lunar and Mrs. It all adds up. Good luck to the rest of you.

I weighed in at 78.7kg which I'm really happy with as I was up at 80.? A couple of weeks ago. I then got my dreaded period today so realise the chocolate attack on the weekend was the lead up to that and the increased screaming at both DS's. I hate hormones.

Let's hope I stay focused this week and reduce for the next weigh in. I had yoghurt for breakfast and lunch was 4 very small arancini balls with salad. Had strawberries for my snack on way home and unfortunately missed dinner due to committee meeting tonight. Not feeling hungry at the moment so will start again with healthy options tomorrow.

Proud to say I didn't eat the chocolates offered to me today after giving blood for research project and nor did I feel like a slice of the lemon syrup cake I made and took to work. Some days you just aren't in the mood. I just wish those days came more often. Even walked the dogs on the weekend and worked around the house most of the weekend so limited arse/couch ratio time compared to normal.

Good luck to all the rest of you. I'm aiming for a healthy week through until Friday. I like lunars idea of small steps. Just so you know I have lost 48kg over the past year and a half which I know is great but the last 10kg will be the tricky ones. I'm 2 kg into my 10 kg so feeling proud I'm
In the 70's and hope to get down to 70kg for a big bash in October. It's doable if I stay focused. You're all continuing motivate me.

lunar1 · 11/08/2014 15:25

Wow mojito, that is amazing! I hope I can be where you are in 18 months.

trikken · 11/08/2014 15:32

Yes small steps. Bit by bit it all adds up.

MrsDesperado · 11/08/2014 15:33

Wow mojito! As lunar says that's amazing! There is so much inspiration to be taken from this thread, I really am in awe of so many of you!
My period is threatening to arrive and I just wish it'd get a bloody move on. I'm in an absolutely fowl mood and have been since yesterday morning, everything and anything is pissing me off and making me angry, and I'm formulating imaginary arguments in my head with people I'm yet to see. Poor dcs are getting shouted at too! It's shit isn't it?

Mojito100 · 11/08/2014 17:09

Yes. Hormones are the worst. Having tried so many different diets the only thing that worked for me was drastically reducing portion size. I don't deny myself anything hence I had a small amount of dark mint flavoured Lindt chocolate after dinner last night. I had a professor in weight loss tell me that we can survive healthily on one cup of food which is protein veg and carbs 3 times a day and for some reason that clicked with me. At times I have pigged out but the trick was just starting again and recognising all the good choices I was making rather than focussing on the slip ups. I really don't deny myself anything I want but just have to be disciplined about portion size.

Being so obese to start with the weight fell off with little effort. Now comes the tricky part which is why it is great to have the support you all offer. I really want to be 70kg which is right for my body shape. As you can see I have fallen off the bandwagon since we started but I'm focused again snd that is all that counts. Every pound is a win.

lunar1 · 11/08/2014 18:54

Do you mind me asking mojito, how is your skin with such a big weight loss?

Mojito100 · 11/08/2014 23:18

Very flabby lunar. My tummy has excess and the rest of my body doesn't look too bad. When wearing clothes it's not noticeable and even without clothes it still looks like I am overweight with my saggy tummy. I have noticed my breasts are very crepey looking as though I am in my 80's but that is more if I lift them up from the navel sagging position they are prone to take. All in all it isn't taught trim and terrific but then I didn't expect it to be having been so overweight for so long.

trikken · 11/08/2014 23:47

Mine is the same mojito. Most people only see me in clothes so im still pleased that im thinner.
