New week new start...

OP posts:
suejonezispanicking · 01/09/2006 06:59

well I have confessed on another thread so will come clean here too. My expected travel date is 19th Spetmeber - won't be confirmed until a few days before though. EEK!

schneebly · 01/09/2006 07:09

OMG SUE! I am really excited for you! That is wonderful - after all this waiting - you are so close to having your baby in your arms. I am sooooo happy for you!

suejonezispanicking · 01/09/2006 07:16

Doing deep breathing - works on adoptions as well as labour I've found.

When are you off on your course Schneebly?

schneebly · 01/09/2006 07:36

Got back from the induction last night - course starts on Monday but is delivered entirely online using a brilliant programme with forums/chat tutorials etc. Less time on MN from now on I guess! I wish you all the best with everything - you will be fine! Carry on with the deep breathing!

lemonaid · 01/09/2006 07:51

19 September -- wow! Once they finally do get the bureaucracy sorted they work pretty quickly, then. Oh, Christmas is going to be so much fun this year...

suejonezispanicking · 01/09/2006 08:11

I remember so many Christmases thinking - maybe this year... can't imagine what it will be like (though tbh am struggling to think past next week at the moment)

coppertop · 01/09/2006 09:20

Congratulations on losing your first stone, Dot.

Fantastic news about getting a travel date so soon, Sue. I can't wait to see all your "What shall I buy my x-months old ds/dd for Christmas?" threads.

justamum · 01/09/2006 10:10

sue, god things move fast when they get going! That is so brilliant. i bet your head is a whirl, how long will you be out there for? how quickly will you know which one is yours? do you need anything quickly? i found that snowsuit, it is in perfect condition & hardly used if you need it, just let me know.

MamaG · 01/09/2006 10:16

Well done to everybody from the newest BigMoFo

suejonezispanicking · 01/09/2006 11:40

alittlebitshy emailed me late she has lost another 1-2 lbs (her scales are a bit inaccurate) - I think she's nearing her target now but she away for the weekend but can brag on her own behalf when she's back.

Yes thanks, I'll take the snowsuit as long as its not going to cost you too much to post.

justamum · 01/09/2006 14:44

Sue, email me at [email protected] with your address and i'll get it sent to you as soon as possible, it won't cost very much to send.

Littlefish · 01/09/2006 15:12

How fabulously exciting Sue! I bet you just can't believe it's all suddenly happening now. I'm absolutely thrilled for you.

MamaG · 01/09/2006 17:00

OK I've got a lot to learn, I know that, waiting for my appt with dietician. How does this sound for dinner tonight - pitta bread with feta, light mayo, olives and salad?

hub2dee · 01/09/2006 17:06

Suspicious by his absence, hub whispered

suejoneziscalmernow · 01/09/2006 17:25

well you stood up like a man and admitted it hub so we'll forgive you. 2.5 pounds over three weeks away (did you really go for three weeks?) isn't so bad, you'll shift that in no time But isn;t your birthday coming up, you'll have to make sure it's a birthday not a birthweek as far as food goes!

suejoneziscalmernow · 01/09/2006 17:29

that sounds fine to me MamaG - don't go wild on the cheese or olives. I would try to stick to 3oz of cheese and a small handful of olives (maybe 10 - can't remember how many calories they are but they are higher than you think). Pia bread not too bad - I stick to one if lunch and two for dinner provided not too much filling.

It's probably as important at the moment that you enjoy what you're eating and that you eat it in moderation than the exact calories of anything.

Do you know when you'll see the dietician?

hub2dee · 01/09/2006 17:32

Two weeks holiday, one week Accustomisation to the Home Environment / sugar come down LOL.

Birthday celebrations have been ongoing for some time now.

Hmmm...

suejoneziscalmernow · 01/09/2006 17:36

so advice about the birthweek too late then

lemonaid · 01/09/2006 17:46

SJ, I noticed your comment about disposable nappies. We're a clothie family and I also moved DS into more idiot-proof pocket nappies from his (still pretty idiot-proof, frankly) Tots Bots when he started nursery... the upshot of which is that I have knocking around the place unused at present a complete set of cloth nappies and all the trimmings, just the right size for a 9-18 month old. So if you would like to borrow them for your trip just say the word (though obviously not pushing them on you if you think you'll be able to sort the disposable nappy issue when you're out there, and I don't know what laundry facilities you'll have access to).

suejoneziscalmernow · 01/09/2006 17:50

I'm very tempted by reusables, Lemonade and your offer could tip me over the edge. I will definitely be taking disposables with me as I don't know what kind of access I'll have to washing machines. However might be tempted to try them when I get back if you are kind enough to send me a sample - would be happy to pay for them if you don't want them. Email me and we can discuss.

JackieNo · 01/09/2006 18:26

Oooh - is it about to kick off on the TV thread, sue? Glad you survived your official visitor - will you be able to have a relaxing evening now?

MamaG · 01/09/2006 20:05

Not heard anything yet about the dietician SJ, had a bad day yesterday so started afresh today! Just 10 olives? I didn't realise they were high in fat/cals! I didn't go too mad with the cheese (for once)

suejoneziscalmernow · 01/09/2006 22:49

Jackie I think I killed the TV thread - actually I wan't trying to this time. Was just in a slightly mad mood and a bit pissed off with fat people not doing "suitable" things idea.

coppertop · 02/09/2006 09:30

Which TV thread?

Welcome back, Hub.

I'm having a pretty good week here. I sneaked on to the scales and it's looking very positive. Yipppeeee!

When does WWB get back? Anyone know?

suejoneziscalmernow · 02/09/2006 09:56

this one
