MIL on form today with her weird food issues. We went out for dinner in Edinburgh after the rugby.
She got them to make her an off-menu salmon risotto, then proceeded to extract and eat all the salmon and leave all the rice (claiming she was too full), then she ordered and ate a panna cotta pudding and a latte, and made sure she ate the biscuit that came with the latteHmm.
Actually, given that's the worst, it's not been too bad, and we're leaving tomorrow.
I'll be glad to get back to being able to eat at normal times. I like going places and doing stuff, but I really like my home!

KatoPotato · 27/07/2014 23:11

Should've got her a munchy box IMST!

InMySpareTime · 28/07/2014 06:10

GrinKato, she'd die of shock, killed by her own disapproving glare!

TheOneWithTheHair · 28/07/2014 08:21

eighty, I'll be swimming nearly every day but definitely in a pool and not in a freezing lake or the sea! Grin

IMST, I'm relived for you that it wasn't too bad this time. Glad you enjoyed the rugby.

Well I had a good day food-wise yesterday. I didn't have any due to feeling sick all day. (Silver linings and all that.) I'm not sure I really feel any better today either.

InMySpareTime · 28/07/2014 20:57

Hair, hope you're feeling better now. It's rubbish being ill on holiday.

ToeFluff · 30/07/2014 20:31

Hello, sorry I fell off the radar, I didn't want to post as I'd yet again lost all my mojo...

Today is the first day I haven't caved and scoffed for Britain Grin I'm now going to post here non stop so I don't spoil it!

How is everyone getting on?

Reastie · 31/07/2014 07:44

Hello,

I'm here too, just fed up as having coil issues and family planning clinic have told me I need to go to GP for swabs and scans and what I'm experiencing isn't normal, but they haven't told me what might be wrong and whether to be worried or not Confused

Things OK this week exercise wise - have managed 5 workouts since Saturday, so that's it until this coming Saturday. Food another story and have been really hungry and eating too much. Weigh in this morning and 2lbs on, hoping it's just fluctuations.

toe today is THE day you get back on it, you can do it!

Hair hope you're feeling better?

IMST weirdy MIL behaviour there.

eighty I watched the triathlon, is was great wasn't it, I just can't believe how fit they must be, their legs must be completely jelly after that.

ToeFluff · 31/07/2014 15:13

Hope your gp gives you some more info/answers Reastie. Surely they must realise how annoying it it not to be told the full story. Grrr

Well I had a fab day yesterday so I'm now doing that 7 day challenge this week instead. Day 2 is going well too - I have had a sausage roll but I'm still well under cals after dinner included so it's all good! Grin

TheOneWithTheHair · 01/08/2014 21:45

Bloody internet! Long post lost.

Summary- I'm having a fab time.

Reastie, I hope you get some info and feel better soon. Try not to let it bring you down.

Toe, do you meal plan? I think I'd find it hard to do 7 a day in practice rather than theory.

ToeFluff · 02/08/2014 11:31

I did try to meal plan, but it never works because I never fancy whatever I've planned. It's like a rebel thing!Grin

thanks all, swabs have been done now just waiting for apt for a scan.

Food not going so well and workouts also miserable failure this week as no one can look after DD all week. Am going to attempt a garden workout this morning with her to see if I can at least do something to feel better. P90X is going well otherwise though, and I can see a bit of muscle on my arms from the weights

Hair glad you're enjoying your holiday

I keep thinking I really want to go sugar free but not quite wanting it enough to actually do it Grin

kato guess what? I've got a spirilizer, yay! Good old freecycle.

Not much happening here. We're going to Speyside at the end of the month, deliberately timed it for Scottish term time to keep costs down.

Reastie · 09/08/2014 13:35

eighty swabs came back with strep b, but I had that when pg and they don't think that's causing the problems. Am awaiting scan apt to come through. Well done on the 2 lbs down

IMST enjoy the upcoming holiday, that's an excellent idea timing wise, I'd never thought of that Blush

Well, things haven't been going so well here food wise, keep having cheeky treats which are becoming more habit than treat, so I need to do something drastic to tail myself in so today is day 1 of sugar free. 16 hours in and I am DESPERATELY craving chocolate. I definitely will not be responsible for my actions this week insofar as people eating anything nice in front of me. I just feel like I need to do it though, if only to prove to myself I DO have willpower still. I'm aiming for 2 weeks in the hope that will give me long enough to reap the rewards of being sugar free (I gave it up before and had a killer headache hangover for the first week but once I got through that I felt amazing). I'm still having fresh fruit and limited amounts of dried fruit, but everything else will have no sugar or sweetener added to it, so plain natural yoghurt etc etc.

How's everyone else doing?

ToeFluff · 09/08/2014 18:34

Hi, I've not been staying on plan, work is having redundancies and I'm stress eating! It's awful, people that have been there for 17 years are being called into the office and then have 20 mins to pack up and be escorted off the premises. It's died off these past few days but still not sure if I'm safe yet...pass me the biscuits!

ToeFluff · 09/08/2014 19:12

Will be starting again Monday though, just about to do a online shop and planning on very low cal lunches so the meal in the evenings can be more just healthy meals than low calorie. Need to find some sort of balance for dp as he turns his nose up at anything diety.

TheOneWithTheHair · 09/08/2014 23:23

Not doing great here either. I've done loads and loads of walking in the Lakes though so I'm hoping it's ok. Ds2 has found his walking legs and managed a couple of eight milers of very up and down. I had to carry lunch for everyone as dh has a suspected broken rib. I'm sure the extra weight on my back helped too. Off to Legoland tomorrow so it's going to be another tough few days food wise.

I'm sorry you don't have any answers yet Reastie. Let us know about your scan.

I have my fingers crossed for your job Toe.

Reastie · 10/08/2014 07:16

Hair all the walking (especially up hills) definitely helps. I've been on holiday in the past and been useless with food but still lost weight because of the walking. Fingers crossed it'll be the same for you, and remember, you're on holiday so enjoy and get back on it when you get back.

toe that sounds really stressful, do you know when you'll find out if you're OK? I remember my Dad worked somewhere where the same thing happened every year or so and we always worried it'd be him next time (thankfully it never was, but it was awful hearing about these people coming into work and then just being told to go home).

Day 1 of sugar free complete. Onwards to day 2. Definitely more hungry yesterday and struggling with it, but I haven't had true 'diet hunger' for ages as have got used to what I was eating, so maybe it's good to keep me on my toes. Not sure my PMT week was a good week to start this though Confused

ToeFluff · 10/08/2014 09:05

Thank you Reastie, my stomach has been in knots all week! It's always something!

So when you say sugar free do you mean you aren't adding it or you are checking labels and avoiding it totally? That's really tough either way (I don't have sugar I have sweetener but it's just as bad if not worse)

Reastie · 10/08/2014 10:37

No added sugar including checking labels for anything with sugar added, but I am eating fruit and some dried fruit. Tbh natural sugar is in so many things, and it all gets turned into the same thing in your body, tbh I think being aware and restricting myself of sugary foods (other than fruit) is as much about proving to myself I can do it and have the will power than about losing weight, it's about trying to have a healthier overall diet rather than being a fad IYKWIM. Fingers crossed in a couple of weeks I'll find everything sugary too sweet and just won't want it anymore not sure it'll work though

ToeFluff · 12/08/2014 15:13

Well. I'm safe and have been told I am keeping my job. Dp isn't though and went today. Cons of working at the same place as your partner, if it goes south you can both be jobless so at least it wasn't both of us.

Diet has sadly still been last on my mind. I'm sure I'm going up but not going to weigh to find out!

How is everyone's week going? We've gone very quiet lately! Xxx for everyone!

TheOneWithTheHair · 13/08/2014 16:32

Oh Toe, happy for your job safety but not for your dp or the situation it now puts you in. :(

I'm doing ok but not weighed since I first went away. My clothes tell me it's not good though. I will weigh in the morning.

Dh has bought a juicer and reckons he's going to do fruit and veg juices for the family. I hope so as I can use it as a lunch replacement. Does anyone else juice?

ToeFluff · 13/08/2014 16:56

My clothes are looking like I'm going to bust out of them so I really need to do something sharpish! I caught myself in a window reflection and was mortified.

Hair I haven't weighed myself either so will do it in the morning too, can be a reset for the pair of us.

I haven't ever done a juice diet thing, do you not get really hungry? I saw a meal replacement shake thing in asda which I was tempted to try for a week to give me a little kick start. Have you done one before?

TheOneWithTheHair · 13/08/2014 20:31

Never done one but I'm lazy with a sweet tooth and I don't really get hungry so if dh is making them for me, it could be ideal.

Also, I am very, very bad at getting 5 a day, never mind 7, so this is bound to help. You never know, it may have a bonus natural laxative effect!

I'm up for a weigh and restart in the morning. I need to be really good until Saturday as I have a wedding, back to the lakes on Sunday until Friday, then London on Saturday for 5 days. I'm knackered just thinking about it!
