Hi, following on from the lose a stone and half thread those of us with more weight to shift (me!) would like to carry on

Is there anyone out there to join?

I will go first

I have reached my Easter target and I would like to lose between 7 and 12 pounds ready for the summer (I may lose more in the autumn but I don't see the point if I can't maintain it)

I have let things sill a bit so my intention is to calorie count as I did before with no chocolate or alcohol from Tuesday for a few weeks. Then I will relax the choc and booze rule Grin

Hi there,

I have really enjoyed reading about the lovely foods Jemima's talked about. You said you pinned things on pinterest . Is that what a 'vision board ' is then ?

Sorry to hear that so many of us are ill. Do hope you're feeling better.

Today I will be preparing my deer for marinading. I need to get started on it because I've loads of other things I want to do too.

On the food front, yesterday I was on a FD but I've not seen any drop on the scales yet and I don't like that. Confused

I'm impatient to see my weight go down and when it doesn't , and I realise that my body is clinging on to things rather than eliminating them, I can wait a while . But then if I wait and see no change, I can start to get panicky. That's not good because I can also get negative. Whereas the turning point is probably not far off.

So right now, I need to stay the course.

So,here it's :
tea , exercise, deer chopping, going to buy white geraniums.
And hopefully finished by dinner time.

Wish me luck ... Smile

Thinking about you all. How are you doing Jaynie and j200?

Hi Saymwa! I like venison, it is really lean too.

I pin all sorts of things to pinterest, I find it a good way to keep recipes etc together. I started using it for food, then went on to use it a lot for clothes too.

I can't really blame the children as I was bigger before having them than I am now. I was a size 16 before having them, went up to a size 20 by the time I'd had all three, and then went down to a 10. I weigh about 3 stone less now than I did when I fell pregnant with DS1. I certainly eat more healthily now than I used to!

I made salmon with brown rice and roasted veg for dinner last night and have used the leftover roasted veg to make a salad for today's lunch, with some feta and mixed seeds. I have melon and grapes for pudding, and 2 satsumas and a nakd bar as snacks to keep me out of the biscuit tin. Breakfast was half a banana, blueberries, natural yoghurt and granola after a 2 mile "power walk" (I still hate that term!)

I'm using my flexi to finish work early this afternoon so I can pick the DC up from school. I'm hoping it is still sunny so we can go to the park!

My weigh in day today, after 3 weeks.
If anything I have put on 1/2 lbs. Not cheering for joy. But it could have been worse.
hmm. No slacking for me. Bother, I was hoping for a bit of a breather.

Poor Rufus. Have you got a virus?
Hate viruses.

Well done Jemima for losing that 3 stone. That is impressive.

deer for marinading. Yum.

Oh Rabbit,

I am sorry that you have not lost weight as you'd like.
Have you an idea why ? Do you think it's because of the Werthers ? I think it's really great that you've put that on the thread and I admire you for doing that. When I get fed up about my weight loss I have found it helpful to sort through what has gone on at the back of it. I don't necessarily like doing that in the open, but it has helped me to not get bogged down in gooiness. Grin

Rufus Sad do take care. Sleep and drink lots. If and when you feel up to it, you might want to give yourself a temporary home manicure and then go for the professional one after your better anyway .

Sounds an interesting thing to do with Pinterest Jemima. Great to hear about your past weight losses too. Tell me again, how much are you wanting to loose right now?

Here, I am still feeling a bit negative as I'm not on time with the jobs I planned. I've done my exercise and got the venison marinating but it took me longer to chop up than I expected. Not a pleasant job either Hmm. Still it's done, so now having a cuppa before doing an hour's housework [looks for yuk icon , can't find it but sticks one in anyway].
Then I'll go for my white geraniums and go see a neighbour about tomatoe plants and rosemary for my marinade.

I think she'll have made some biscuits which is not a terrible thing if I go easy on them and take them off my allowance today. But, part of me would have liked to have done without them today.

Been watching 'The biggest loser ' on youtube whilst chopping meat. Made it more fun and - my exercise coach Jillian Michaels is on it so I love that !

I am a bit teed off. But nothing too much.
I only have about 10 sweets a week so dont think that it is that.
I did have some choc over Easter but nothing major.
Oh well.
My scales was also fiddled about with by DD [yes, that old chestnut!].
I thought I had maybe lost 1lb.

It is possible that subconciously I dont want to lose too much now, and do a big push in the last 3 weeks. Not sure.

I always sabotage myself at the end...takes me ages to lose the last few pounds. Don't know why. I did gain a pound a few months ago and then I lost 3 the following week Hmm weird

jemima I do pinterest as well!!!! No idea how you would find me

saymwa thanks for that I just got out of bed and I'm going to have some lunch!!!! Hang the consequences!!!!

I'm never ill (enough to miss coffee and a chat Grin) feeling a bit better now.

Loving the support and the fact that we are still posting...we can do this ladies!!

My particular problem is that I am tied to a date.
And I cant go too far in the weight losing. hmm. I am at a bit of a crossroads.
I had it in mind that I would maybe have lost 1lb. Would then have a bit of a week off or two. And then go for the final push.
Now I am floundering.
Feeling a bit fed up with it right now. Wants a break

Am aware that this is first world rubbish. Note to self. Must snap out.

Glad you are feeling better Rufus.

Smiling at supers yuk meal. Some just dont work do they?
I had a friend who's freezer was going slowly wrong. Had to munch their way through the remainder of the contents. Had some very odd meals at the end!
Ended up throwing away the last few pounds worth as couldnt stand the concoctions any longer!

I don't think any of you actually realise how awful it was. I can still taste it... haha

didn't stop me from having a mug shot with brown bread for lunch though. I love sweet n sour mugshots.

I am still struggling to meet the MFP calculator which is crap because I obviously managed to before I would weigh thirteen fluffin stone! have looked at the nutrition tho and I seem to eat mainly carbs, hence the stomach. need to eat more fruit and veg, branch out a bit from mushrooms peas sweetcorn and parsnips.

why are you working towards a certain date may I ask? think ive missed something somewhere along . its hard isn't it when you feel that things are slowing down or not going anywhere. I made the mistake of weighing last Wednesday and then again on sunday hadn't lost anything and was really bummed out for the rest of the day shouldn't of weighed on the sunday at all!

Report
rabbitrisen · 29/04/2014 12:53

Grin re your meal.

I dont know what the MFP calculator is. Will have to google. Dont know what a mugshot is either [suspects you are younger than me!]

DD is getting married. Bought the outfit. So cant deviate from its size too much. And the date is unmovable too!
Hence why I joined the other thread about a month ago.

Report
supermariossister · 29/04/2014 13:12

Ah I see! in that case I can understand why working to a date? if what you have been doing is working I would try to up the exercise a bit and see what happens, my downfall is fizzy pop.

a mug shot is a pasta or rice meal made in a mug in 5 minutes. they have lots of flavours but the sweet and sour is a good flavour. I am 23 if that helps :)

sorry had to hop off computer, mfp calculator bases on your weight and height/activity levels what is the target amount of calories you should eat to lose weight you then input everything you eat into the calculator it includes a barcode scanner for products and such. helps me keep track of what I am putting in and also what I'm burning in exercise.

Saymwa · 29/04/2014 13:46

Haha for the freezer meals Super.

Easy does it Rabbit. If I can you can girl !

Great you're feeling a bit more yourself Rufus. Enjoy your telly-oggling.

OMG I thought a mug-shot was a photo of a convicted criminal. Glad you checked that one out Rabbit. I had visions of Super just feeling very, very guilty after eating her meal ! Couldn't get why she wanted a photo of herself eating brown rice. Thought it must be another helpful way to lose weight .

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin that has totally cheered up my afternoon, I might start doing that, a mug shot a day to track the weight loss. of the photographic kind not the noodle variety.

rabbitrisen · 29/04/2014 19:24

Glad I wasnt the only one not knowing what a mug shot was. I can feel so old on MN some days! And yes super, I am old enough to be your mother! Grin

That calculator thing does look useful, but think I will stick to what I am doing for now thanks.

Had a small fish and chips and mushy peas for tea. Ha to diet.
Will go back to being sensible though. Am cheered up now.

Report
supermariossister · 29/04/2014 19:43

glad your cheered up. I had a chicken steak bagel as that was what ds wanted and we are running low on fruit and veg. bought bananas yesterday and all the bottom halves seem to be black. I hate it when that happens!.

Haha I wouldn't worry too much I am often told that I was never destined to be young and wild :D im actually pretty boring.

Got no motivation at the minute, my nan is finding things tough and has been very upset the last few times ive seen her. im not sure any of you know my story or why indeed im on this thread so I shall share some with you now. Almost 18 months ago my mum died at Christie hospital, she had had cancer for a number of years but it was still an unexpected shock. She was 46 years old when she died and left behind three children and two grandsons ( one of which is my son the other my nephew) I spent much of every day with my mum for the years before she died so after she had gone I was at a loss and just stayed home, I didn't take care to watch what I was eating and steadily the weight has piled on, it is only when I saw photos of myself compared to photos taken before with my mum that I can see the huge difference in me. so here I am, trying my best to make the changes but sometimes I still struggle back to feeling so sad that a box of chocolates seem better than a run. slowly though this is starting to change and we will see more changes the more we keep on keeping on.

Sorry about your mum super Sad

One of my colleagues eats a MugShot for lunch every day, they always smell really nice but I've never actually tried one!

I lost 6 stone altogether between May 2012 and September 2013 (going from 15 stone to 9 stone). But then between a trapped nerve in my back meaning I had to stop running and a new job meaning that I sit on my bum all day I put 2 stone back on again Blush. I am now trying to get back down to 10 stone, so lose a stone. Ideally by the time we go on holiday in August. I have lost 2lbs so far... The trouble is because I am at a healthy BMI there isn't quite so much an incentive as there was before when I was very overweight. But I know I look better at around 10 stone/size 10 than I do now. I also feel much better when I eat healthily and get plenty of exercise. I just need to form those good habits again.
