So a new thread, a new more motivated state of mind.

We will be skinny. No more excuses.

I was doing okay today until I started eating their left overs.
The clothes are just from Sainsburys but the jacket is quite like Seasalt/Joules. The Jeggings are boring but cheap. They had really nice workout clothes too.

I have tried those Exante bars and I like them. I think I might have to restart next week. I need a big loss to motivate myself.

Greenrabbit · 23/02/2015 21:48

I disagree Sol,what about Reece's peanut butter cups?!!!

Greenrabbit · 23/02/2015 21:57

Sol Debenhams has up to 25% off brands from tomorrow. They usually have an extra 10% off code going round too. Just incase you still want that dress.

BeyondTheSea · 23/02/2015 22:01

Good buys Green.

DH is looking at the fitbits, have you got the flex or charge?

I typed in titbits initially - would have been another classic?!

I did have pride once - honestly.

Greenrabbit · 23/02/2015 22:10

I have the fitbit One. I do wear it on my bra so I might re name it tit bit. It makes more sense! I might get one of the wrist ones in future.

What happened when you searched for tit bit? Nipple covers?

Greenrabbit · 23/02/2015 22:17

Pre-diet we had Pride. Now we have Titbits.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 23/02/2015 22:20

TitBit is awesome Beyond.

Reeces cups are vile. Like little Satan nuggets.

I have the FitBit Zip, it's brill. I can wear it all the time without wondering if it goes with an outfit (If we're out for dinner I wouldn't wear it if it was a wrist one).

Thanks for the Debenhams heads up Green, I still want the dress, I'm in love.

So I have tonsillitis now. It's pretty unpleasant but I am even more drugged up to the eyeballs than previously so not too bad.

Maybe this is my body's way of telling me not to do the Shred, it's putting on some sort of extreme protest.

Absolutely exhausted and heading to bed as soon as the kids have. But I didn't eat much today and I was kind of active, I did 3528 steps and burned 1577 calories. Not sure how many I ate though, I'll add them up in a bit and update. Haven't been on the scales for a while, I'll weigh in when I have had the FitBit for a week.

How's everybody else getting on?

I had 1185 calories to day. My FitBit recommends 1306 calories today, does that seem very low? I don't feel hungry, probably because I feel so shit, but I thought I was supposed to eat more then that. Or is my mind confused due to conflicting diet knowledge over the years?

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 25/02/2015 12:44

Tonsillitis is horrible Sol. I hope the drugs are still working and you feel better soon.
I do think you should concentrate on getting better before you restart the Shred.
I'm not sure about the calorie thing. I know that Fitbit alters it daily, I think it bases it on weekly patterns. You can set the calories yourself. 1300 calories is probably based on losing 2lb a week? I don't think it's terribly low but I would be struggling with that many every day.
I've checked mine and it gives me 1450 cals. I changed my weight on Monday and it lowered my calories.
Just eat if you feel hungry and try just to eat well until you feel better. Your body needs the energy.

I starte feeling really weird yesterday. I felt like I was going to faint again and then felt tired and achey for the rest of the day. I ate normal meals so I don't think it was because I was hungry. I don't feel great today so I'm just going to stick to 1500 calories.
DD2 has woke up with Chicken pox.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 28/02/2015 21:51

Hope your daughter is feeling better Green.

Slowly getting over tonsillitis. Bleurgh!

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 01/03/2015 12:36

She's starting to feel better thanks. Lots of sleepless nights. The diet has gone out the window.

BeyondTheSea · 01/03/2015 19:02

How are you Sol? Hope you are starting to feel better.

Sorry to hear about your DD, am dreading DD getting it although sometimes better to get it over and done with. Don't worry about diet, I am sure you are tired and need the calories to survive.

I didn't weigh in this week as not been that good. Aiming for 3 fast days this coming week (and fasted yesterday).

Greenrabbit · 04/03/2015 17:50

How is everyone?

I haven't been eating very well. I've had some sort of chest infection and now it seems to have spread to my ear. So I'm feeling sorry for myself.

BeyondTheSea · 04/03/2015 20:38

Oh no Green - hope you are better soon. Sounds like you need rest and no dieting. Your body needs comfort.

I fasted 3 days last week and gained albs Confused
You can imagine my delight! I am plodding on, fasted monday and fasting tomorrow.

How are you Sol?

How's everyone else?

BeyondTheSea · 04/03/2015 20:39

gained 2lbs

SolitudeSometimesIs · 05/03/2015 21:55

Hi, sorry for the disappearing act. I've been feeling rotten but I'm on the mend now. I've put on 2 lbs too Beyond. How bloody unfair is that?!

How many calories do you eat on a fast day? I'm tempted by fasting but I don't know a lot about it. I can't exercise, I just can't. I have no energy and feel like shit. I don't think aching muscles will add to my feeling better.

How's your DD Green? Have you had the chicken pox before? Sod the diet when the kids are sick, life is tough enough sometimes.

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 05/03/2015 22:36

Hi, DD is much better thanks. She's just decided to go back to being a pain at bedtime again.
I'm still ill. Both my ears are really blocked, maybe it's an infection? At least I get some peace because of it. I've had chicken pox before. I think there's some sort of virus going round.

Sorry you've both put weight on. Very unfair. Especially after fasting and being ill. I've probably put the weight I lost over the last few weeks back on. But I know I've ate really badly, i can't be bothered at the moment.

I have between 500-600 calories on a fast day Sol. There are lots of ways of doing it. I prefer to wait until after 1pm before I eat. It has lots of health benefits and I think having a longer fast helps the body. I'll link to the proper website tomorrow. You need to get better first though.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 07/03/2015 12:54

I am giving myself the rest of the weekend off and then I will be a Sargent Major when it comes to my diet and try and be more active.

I bought a dress for the wedding, I hate it, so it's going back. It has a weird cling to the material and the pattern makes it look like my arse starts halfway up my back. Cute, it is not. I ordered it off the internet so didn't get to try it on beforehand.

That's terrible about your ears Green, my doctor recommends a decongestant cough bottle for blocked ears as the body shifts extra fluid and mucous the same way. It's really good if there isn't an infection, I use Exputex, word of warning though, the stuff that comes out of your ears is grim.

I'd really appreciate a link to the Fasting diet. It sounds interesting. I was thinking I need to build myself up after being sick, but I need to lose the excess weight too.

How is everyone doing this weekend?

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 07/03/2015 20:54

I'm re-starting (again) on Monday too. I'm going to have a final push with the Exante stuff I have left over. Hopefully it will help me get back into low carbing.

Shame about your dress. I'm dreading having to find one for the wedding we're going to. I hate clothes shopping now and there are no good shops in our town. I remember thinking I'd shrank a dress from Next, but realised it was my massive bum making it look weird.
Did you buy the Phase Eight dress or was it a different one? I'm not sure what style to go for. The wedding we are going to is at church then in a field/marquee. I'm not sure if I can go with something less formal, maybe a maxi dress if I lose enough weight?

Here is the link to the fast diet I followed. thefastdiet.co.uk
I bought the e book too, but it wasn't much better than the website.

I feel massive today, I'm looking forward to starving myself.

I'm going to get some of that decongestant on Monday. Mainly because I want to see what comes out of my ears now you've mentioned it. I don't think they're infected as they don't hurt.
I'm still really tired though. DD2 was awake at 6 this morning. I know that doesn't sound bad to some people, but it's not allowed in this house! Why do they need dragging out of bed on a week day?

SolitudeSometimesIs · 07/03/2015 21:27

Yes, starvation Monday, my fat arse is on that train. We shall be skinny and slightly healthier then last week. I'll have a look at that website. I really need to get myself organised.

Bring up at 6am is hell, it is like a form of torture, you have my sympathy. My DS's are generally good sleepers but even the slightest thing can set them out of routine. Hopefully your DD will get back to normal soon.

The dress wasn't the Phase Eight one (though I still drool over that one and DH is determined I should order it and try it on) it was another one from Debenhams. It was black lace over a blush coloured slip, it was very subtle on the website but in real life it was covered in sequins and looked a lot like something Pat Butcher would wear. I have it hanging in my bedroom to be posted back on Tuesday.

Oh and by the way, the ear grimness can slide down your throat so be prepared for lumps of throat shit in the morning, it is foul.

OP posts:
SolitudeSometimesIs · 07/03/2015 21:33

Eek! 500 calories on a fast day. What the hell can I eat? Actually, what do you eat? Do you count coffee and stuff? I need to be hungry, I haven't felt hunger in such a long time, all I've felt is hunger related to boredom. DH is away most of next week so I think it would be best for my marriage if I do this while he's away. I get very angry when I'm hungry.

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 08/03/2015 09:18

You should try the dress, it could be perfect. I'm shocked at how much dresses cost now. I haven't bought anything fancy for years.
I can't believe you don't want to keep the Pat Butcher dress, it sounds delightful.

I think with fast days you need to have a think about works best for you and play around with different strategies. I don't count the calories in the milk for tea/ coffee but I measure out about 120ml to use (about 50cal).
Coffee makes me hungry so I avoid it till later on, and I drink lots of water.

I don't eat till after 12 on a fast day and usually just have soup. Then I have a bigger dinner. I found that way I could just eat what Everyone else was having for dinner.
If your DH is away I would just go to the shops and get some ready meals and soups in, then you don't have to worry about cooking and working out calories. Do you have the innocent veg pots in Ireland? They are really nice and filling and lowish in cals.
I also found it easier to fast on a Monday and Wednesday. I did Monday's and Thursday's last year but found the Thursdays difficult.

If you accept that you'll be feeling hungry you'll be fine. Just keep yourself busy and you'll forget about food.

I need to get ready now. Off to the second 4th Birthday party of the weekend!

SolitudeSometimesIs · 08/03/2015 20:34

I tried the dress on. It is amazing. I am more in love than ever. Dh has a business deal to sort in a week or so and said that there might be money to spare for the dress if it all goes well.

I'm in the 5:2 zone. I will fast tomorrow and have eaten up all of the tempting food today. I like the soup idea and I have seen innocent pots so I'll get some of them. We had a very active weekend; swimming, walk through the forest and a trip to the park and playground, so I'm hoping that that will have some impact on the scales.

You sound like you had a very busy weekend Green, how did you get on? Was it hard to avoid all of the party food or did you go for it?
