So a new thread, a new more motivated state of mind.

We will be skinny. No more excuses.

SayHello - I was SleepWanted Desperately or something like that.

You can do a stone :) easily. lets all lose a stone by the end of March.

Greenrabbit · 17/02/2015 20:11

I remember my Mam having the Cher step aerobics video.
Did you see those pictures of Cindy the other day, she looks amazing still.

I hope you've lost the 12lb Beyond, I do think long haul flights bloat you so you never know. I think it's a better idea to wait to start Exante, it will be difficult with jet lag.

I had an interesting day. Had healthy breakfast and lunch and plenty of water. Then I gave blood and passed out. Blush I felt like a prize idiot. Luckily I'd already donated and ate the Mint Club with my cup of tea! All I could think was 'Thank God I'm 2 stone lighter than last time!' Maybe it's best not to fast the day before I do these things again. I did have to wait ages to donate and it was very hot in the hall. Plus I was nervous.

So my healthy salad and jacket potatoes for dinner turned into 2 slices of toast. DH sounded mildly concerned when I told him but he's still at work. I was hoping he'd get home before 7 and make me some pancakes.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 18/02/2015 21:01

Day 1 of my Lent challenge has begun.

I walked 6272 steps and burned 1965 calories. I ate 1397 calories. I did The Shred and felt ok after. I think it's a bit of a result overall. I'm still feeling motivated.

Little bit in love with my FitBit. I have been tapping in all of my info this evening so it will be easier to get to grips with. Dh's one was delivered today so he is raring to go.

How are you feeling today Green? That seems a bit scary with all the fainting.

How is being back at work Beyond? Was all the 12 lb fluid? That would be some epic wee if it was.

How's everyone else getting on?

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 18/02/2015 21:02

I was going to skip my fast today, but I wasn't hungry this morning so decided to go for it.
I had water and tea until dinner time. Then some grated carrot, onion and white cabbage with a little fat free dressing. Also a microwave jacket potato and a sausage! Random but quite nice. I had half an Exante bar too.

I forgot to put my Fitbit on this morning but remembered when we went for a walk this afternoon. Then the girls and I did an exercise DVD! It was only the Miranda Hart Maracattack so not exactly high impact but we had fun and I felt like I'd done something. I really need to build up to this exercise thing I feel.
How has everyone's day been?

Greenrabbit · 18/02/2015 21:07

I feel okay today thanks Sol. I was really tired yesterday so probably shouldn't have went. It was a struggle to get up this morning though.

Well done on your steps and doing the shred I've done 6392 and burned 1912 cals. What colour is your fitbit? Mine is burgundy. (Purely because it was cheapest!)

I'm also feeling motivated and I've planned some nice meals for the next 4 days. No more fasting until Monday now.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 18/02/2015 21:16

Take it easy Green, don't push yourself too hard. That workout sounds great. Did your DD's enjoy it? I think just generally being more active and doing small amounts of exercise will make a difference, it's not like you are training to do a marathon or anything. I was a bit achey after the Shred, I hope I can walk tomorrow.

My FitBit is dark blue, it was the only one available. I don't really mind the colour as it's stuffed in my bra anyway. I have no meals planned, I am so disorganised this week for some reason. I plan on sticking to my calorie limit and trying to be more active, I can't look this way forever.

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 18/02/2015 21:27

I think being more active is definitely key. I feel quite good now sort of tired but relaxed? I think I'm always used to being mentally tired but never do enough to really wear myself out physically. Plus I more than doubled my steps from jumping about for 20 minutes. I like looking on the app to see when I've done the most.

The DDs liked the workout. DD1 had to stop as the heat was making her pox itch. But she sat killing herself laughing at me. The little one just ran round as normal. She never stops really, I think she's one of those children that you have to exercise everyday or she goes slightly feral.

I've only planned meals to stop myself getting takeaways and eating rubbish. I have no excuse not to really, it's not like I have very much on at the moment.

We'll be looking amazing at these summer weddings. Smile

SolitudeSometimesIs · 18/02/2015 21:37

That sounds like a good laugh. Are you ever tempted to put a pedometer on the kids? I'd love to see how much my two walk, they never sit down.

I've gotten really bad for takeaways, we can't really afford them but in the last few weeks we've had quite a few. Gonna try and knock that on the head. Also, I meet a friend every second week or so for breakfast but this weekend we are going to go for a walk (weather permitting) and do a few laps of the park. She's a total gym bunny so she's all up for the extra exercise, I may be a bit more resistant to it all.

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 18/02/2015 22:00

I'd love to know how much the youngest does. The eldest is not as active.

We're the same with takeaways, it could be money better spent elsewhere at the moment. I was wondering why the shopping cost more this week but it's just because I've actually bought stuff to last instead of hoping to find something in the freezer.
Walking round the park sounds nice. Although breakfast sounds even nicer.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 19/02/2015 11:25

Really feeling the effects of the Shred today, especially in my thighs.

2lbs down on my weight though which is good.

I feel like I have a chest infection brewing which is so uncomfortable but I'm not letting it slow me down. The two kids were up all night too so I'm falling apart with tiredness but determined.

OP posts:
SayHelloToMyLittleFriend · 19/02/2015 14:34

Thanks BeyondTheSea, I really hope I can lose this weight. I've been this weight since after having my youngest (who is now 3) but I just don't feel comfortable anymore. I'll be 30 at the end of the year so I would love to be slimmer and fitter by then.

I've been doing my Davina dvd the past three mornings and enjoying it so far. Although I've only been doing one 15 minute workout in the morning so I really need to add another. Went on a big walk today too and now my legs hurt.

I'm not following any particular diet at the moment, just trying to eat better in general / drink more water and cut back on takeaways. If anyone can recommend a diet to follow though that would be good.

Well done on the 2lbs Sol. Hope you're feeling ok and get a better sleep tonight.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 19/02/2015 20:48

I have a confession to make: I didn't do the Shred today. I've been up since 2.30am with 2 sick babies and I can't face it. I've burned a ton of calories (burned off more than I've eaten) but I am on my knees with tiredness. I will be back on the Shred wagon tomorrow - sorry!

How are you finding the Davina dvd SayHello? Which workouts are you doing? Are there lots to choose from on the dvd? I really want to try it.

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 19/02/2015 20:55

You should take it easy Sol especially if you're not feeling well. I didn't do any specific exercise either. I had too much to do today. Did plenty of walking though and ate healthily.
Well done on the weightloss though. Hope you get some sleep tonight.

The Davina dvd sounds good. I might find my old ones out when I'm feeling fitter.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 19/02/2015 21:12

I wish the kids would go to sleep so I can too.

They are unusually awake tonight. Maybe I should make them do the Shred?

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 19/02/2015 21:28

Are they still poorly? Yeah, set Jillian onto them.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 21/02/2015 22:07

3 lbs down so far week. So very happy with myself.

Still can't Shred due to my chest infection, but I took the kids to the park. I've also eaten under or up to my daily calorie allowance (1476 calories per day). I have been burning off more calories than I've been eating too.

My food choices have definitely changed because I have to log all my food with the FitBit and it's a bit like having a sour faced, judgemental cow strapped to my chest all day. Do I want to tell FitBit I wasted 230 calories on chocolate? No I don't, I'll not have it.

How's everyone else getting on?

We're going to need a new thread soon. I was thinking of using Beyond's - before dieting I had pride in it somewhere. That line still makes me smile.

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 21/02/2015 22:23

I love that line, I believe it was 'Pre- diet I had pride' 'a great title for a thread. I'm still planning on getting a t shirt printed.

What a good weight loss. Well done, I'm so pleased for you Sol. You should'nt do too much if you are poorly though. Have you got some drugs? We went to the park yesterday but spent today in the garden playing. ,walking to the park burns more calories .

I've ate loads of rubbish today and DH is pissing me off tonight so i'm drinking wine. I tried to start out sensibly but my avocados and mangos were not ripe. So I had to turn to Nutella instead.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 21/02/2015 22:56

Aw thanks Green. I'm happy for a loss with minimal exercise, I am a lazy cow!

Are you eating nutella with a spoon or are you having it with something? I had chocolate spread every day during primary school for lunch and I haven't been able to look at it since. Is your DH pissing off a dieting woman? Do you need me to have a word? Grin

I have antibiotics but they haven't really kicked in yet. I think I was able to go to bed for a few days it would life, but my DH is working and the kids aren't keen on letting me rest.

OP posts:
BeyondTheSea · 23/02/2015 12:04

Are you feeling any better Sol? Well done on your 3lbs. That's so good, baring in mind your exhaustion and illness. I wish I could prescribe you some rest.

I had nutella last night as well Green, tbh I had an overall bad eating day.

But the good news is, I did 2 fast days last week and when I weighed in on saturday, I had lost 8 of the 12 holidays lbs. Aiming to do 3 fast days this week. Also tempted by a fitbit.

I have the post holiday blues badly. DD also unwell with a tummy bug and hating some issues at work. All in all finding it hard to be positive.... :(

SolitudeSometimesIs · 23/02/2015 21:02

I still feel pretty dreadful to be honest. I think another trip to the doctor is in my future. My throat is so sore, I am feeling very sorry for myself but I'm sticking to my daily calorie limit as decided by FitBit and trying to be active.

Congratulations on your 8 lb weightloss Green, that's bloody amazing. Are you doing 5:2? Try and be positive even though you have the post holiday blues and a sick baby. Is she feeling ok? Is work irritating because it's not Dlorida or is it just driving you nuts? Maybe you should start having a margarita at your desk after lunch? Get a little holiday buzz back. I am of course joking, you can't sit at your desk having with a margarita glass, you need to put it in a travel mug and go on about your day. Grin

How is everybody else doing?

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 23/02/2015 21:14

I wish I'd lost 8lb! Well done Beyond, I told you it was bloat! Sorry you're feeling blue though. I always used to let work things get me down, I hope it's resolved soon. Boo to poorly little ones too. Travel Margaritas is inspired though. Do you think it's the time of year too? I hate the first 3 months of the year, so miserable but i don't want to wish my life away.

I had the Nutella on rye bread with peanut butter. I seriously recommend this. I was never allowed chocolate spread as a child. Some may have fallen off the spoon into my mouth though.
I lost 2lb this week, but I'm struggling today. I see Exante in my close future.

You need to get to the doctors Sol before it gets really nasty.

You should get a fitbit too Beyond. I think you can be friends with people on it. We could all compete.

Greenrabbit · 23/02/2015 21:20

Oh and I bought a new jacket and jeggings today. Size 16 Grin

BeyondTheSea · 23/02/2015 21:20

Well done Green. I agree nutella and peanut butter is fantastic. Have you tried the peanut exante bars, they are good...

I am sure will have put in weight since my weigh in but going to start exante again tomorrow (well aim to - I have to say, I don't know how you both stick to dieting with your little ones, I do well at work but come off the rails when on my own with them).

Poor you Sol, is there no one you could ask to help so you could at least rest a little?

Yes I think the time of year is not helping. I think I will get a fitbit, going to read up about it.

BeyondTheSea · 23/02/2015 21:21

Oooh new clothes, what are they like? :)

SolitudeSometimesIs · 23/02/2015 21:32

Hooray for size 16 Green! And on the 2lb weightloss. Nutella and peanut butter sounds foul though, I love peanut butter but it just tastes wrong with chocolate, having said that I would rip your arm off for a snickers.

No one to help me I'm afraid, my parents have health problems and although they would love to have the kids I don't think they would be able for the 2 of them. My siblings are up to their ears with their own kids and work shifts so I don't like to ask, we don't get offers from the other side.

Definitely get a FitBit, I like all the info it sorts out for me and I just do what I am told.
