So a new thread, a new more motivated state of mind.

We will be skinny. No more excuses.

I love the Boots, will look great with dresses too. I wear leather boots in the rain and don't really find it a problem. Had some fab Timberland ones but they are on their 3rd year now and looking a bit shabby.
I would like some brogues, I tried some on in Clarkes but they felt quite uncomfortable. I Have purchased so many shoes that I then only wear once or twice as they hurt my feet. Think I am destined to be a flip-flops or boots person.

I don't know if the dress looks a bit mumsy??
The skirt is knee length. I find Boden stuff washes well and it's good quality. I always wait for a good discount code though.
I'd wear the skirt and cardigan to work, probably the dress as well. What kind of things do you like Sol? I'll look for some links. I went to JL for a browse, also checked out the boots in Jones, really liked some suede wedges but very impractical.

You have both done so well this week - we must keep going!

BeyondTheSea · 18/10/2014 20:52

I agree with Green - DO NOT ORDER A CHINESE.

Greenrabbit · 18/10/2014 21:10

I didn't think it looked mumsy. I suppose it depends on what it's like on? Could you wear a belt or something with it? I'm pretty clueless tbh. Not worth keeping if you're not 100% have you looked at Great Plains? They have nice dresses in and 25% off this weekend.

I don't know why I'm banging on about waterproof boots. No one cares what you're wearing when it's pissing it down. I could go out in wellies. But the Uggs have sheepskin lining which will be sooo cosy. No my other boots will not disintegrate once they get wet.

Do people still wear the sheepskin Uggs? I have some of those. Toasty.

You've done really well too Beyond, there's no point in us buying any new clothes until Christmas really as we'll be so slim by then.

Greenrabbit · 18/10/2014 21:12

Shame about the brogues Beyond. Mine are Clarks and very comfy. I do find them very hit and miss though. My other pair are ASOS (just realised I have 4 pairs -ridiculous)

The thing I miss most about work is dressing nicely!

Greenrabbit · 18/10/2014 21:22

I love that too, have you looked in the outlet section? They have some nice stuff there too.

Greenrabbit · 18/10/2014 21:24

I got this in the spring hoping to slim into it for autumn. Ha! Hopefully it will fit soon.
www.greatplains.co.uk/product/Woman+Sale+Dresses/J1BF8/Sweet+Autumn+Shirt+Dress.htm
Mine is a different colour, more blue and brown.

Greenrabbit · 18/10/2014 21:29

I want this shirt. The black one. I love quirky prints. I probably look like deranged toddler woman.

BeyondTheSea · 18/10/2014 21:32

Really like those Green - order the shirt! Think would like great with Jeans, Black Jeggings?

BeyondTheSea · 18/10/2014 21:40

I like this too
media.greatplains.co.uk/ms/gp/J1CAV_model.jpg?height=1537&width=1024

Greenrabbit · 18/10/2014 22:19

That's a great dress too Beyond. Get them ordered. Do you have Quidco? 6% cash back too.

I was thinking black jeans/jeggings too. Although it will be ages before the shirt fits.
Anyway, because you told me to I ordered it. Also another shirt, dress, bag and necklace. All outlet stuff, but the 25% off worked on it too. I had to spend £50 to get free delivery you see! The lot came to £59! Hopefully I'll be able to figure out if they'll eventually fit properly.

DH has been watching Dr Who, I want to be Clara Envy. ( just look like her and have the clothes and hair and figure, not bothered about the time travel)

BeyondTheSea · 19/10/2014 11:24

I don't have Quidco. But think will order anyway... feel bit guilty, have quite a few things now. I also go this in the Boden order:
www.bodenimages.com/productimages/productHomeLarge/14WAUT_WK969_STE_W01.jpg
but in black.

That's a great price for all that Green? What would you say the sizing is like?

How are you Sol? Hope you stayed away form the chinese?!

SolitudeSometimesIs · 19/10/2014 13:02

Morning all,

no takeaway for me. I had some lentil and veg bake (bet you're all jealous) and no wine or anything. Went for coffee with no pastries and had zero point soup for lunch, boring boring snore snore. But I'm hoping it will keep me on track.

You're right about Clara Green, she is stunning. She has the most beautiful face. I am nicking some style tips from her too. I have the same colouring as Clara (sadly that's where the similarities end) and I love her eye make up. I am a fiend for make up but rarely get the chance to go too dramatic, so I will be stock piling ideas for all the weddings I have to go to next year.

The mood on this thread has changed in the last few weeks, it's so much more positive and hopeful and determined. I love that we're all supporting each other and I'm loving the clothes that you're linking. Actually, how do I do links? I'm wearing my new boots today. DS1 said I looked like a Motorbike Cowboy, apparently it was a compliment.

OP posts:
BeyondTheSea · 19/10/2014 13:10

Well done Sol. I agree - we all seem to be in the right place at the moment - long may it last.

I agree, Clare is vv pretty. I don't pay much attention when DH but will check out her clothes when he watches it later.
To post a link, you right click and then either copy image or copy link and then paste.

Let's all get something fabulous to wear for Christmas. I am rubbish at doing make up, would love to do the sultry eye thing. Perhaps that something we can work on too :)

SolitudeSometimesIs · 19/10/2014 16:15

Thanks Sol, I will try some links now.

I love Dr Who, DH says I'm a Nerdgirl, sometimes it's hard to disagree.

Making myself up to look like a human is one of my favourite pastimes. I'm pretty good at it, but it does take practise. I can't wear lipstick though, I look weird. There's loads of brilliant tutorials online if you want to master sultry eyes.

OP posts:
SolitudeSometimesIs · 19/10/2014 16:16

Thanks Sol? How self obsessed am I? I meant Thanks Beyond.

Thanks Beyond

Greenrabbit · 19/10/2014 19:41

Hope you've both had a good day. I've had one meal replacement and some chicken and veg for dinner. Will probably have a meal replacement bar later if I get peckish. I'm looking forward to my weigh in tomorrow.

Have you ordered the dress yet Beyond? I'm not sure about the sizing. I've order 16's but I know they won't fit(yet). When I lost weight after DD1 I was wearing some size 16 in Boden and Joules, but I bought a Great Plains dress and it was very tight. It was a fitted style though. I think it's probably similar to Warehouse and Dorothy Perkins?
You should definitely sign up for Quidco. You get cash back on Boden too. I've got £360 in my quidco account and am waiting for £60 to be paid in. I've made well over £440 in the last 3 years. I do most of my shopping online though. I think it's free, or £5 per year that they take from your cashback.

Doctor Who- I like this doctor better than Matt Smith and Amy Pond. The best assistant was Rose. I can't decide if I liked Eccelson best or Tennant?
Did you watch Torchwood? I loved it, apart from the last series which was depressing.
The only similarities I share with Clara is the colouring. I have a proper girl crush Blush. Did either of you ever watch Gossip Girl? I loved Blair's look so much too.

Makeup- love it soooo much. I have enough to last forever Blush. I like lying in bed watching beauty videos (guilty pleasure). I can do a mean smokey eye. (Brag) Used to be good at eyeliner flicks too, but haven't wore it for ages.

Sorry for the essay, I'm waiting to go in the shower but I have to make sure the DC are properly asleep first.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 19/10/2014 21:37

Sounds like you are having a great day Green. I think it's a good sign that you are looking forward to your weigh in.

I am re-watching the Matt Smith episodes now. I kind of didn't gel with him the first time but there is such a sadness in his performance, he looks like he's holding it together for the humans sometimes (slightly over invested in it all). I really like him now that I've gotten over the fact he has no eyebrows.

I never got in to Gossip Girl or Torchwood. I find Jack Harkniss get on my nerves after a while. Which one was Blair in GG? Was she blonde or brunette? Did you watch Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch? I like that a lot, I want a ladies version of his coat.

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 19/10/2014 22:11

I think I have liked not thinking about food this weekend, the hunger and tiredness are much less.

Blair was the brunette. I liked seeing what she was wearing as much as the show!

I haven't watched Sherlock, I will google the coat.

I might have to re-watch some of the doctor who's. I liked him at the start, I think the Amy/Rory thing started to get on my nerves.
Captain Jack was very OTT at times, but I liked the others and the accents.

There is nothing on tonight. I've painted my nails and picked out a dress, tights and brogues tomorrow. Just hope the tights fit.

Have a good day tomorrow. Will you weigh in again? Have you been to your diet group again? GB lady will be jealous!

Greenrabbit · 19/10/2014 22:15

The coat is very cool. You could swish round in it. Are you tall? It looks like a tall person coat. It's only £1,350! You should get one Grin Wink

Tardis Tardis Tardis Tardis Tardis Grin

Goodnight.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 19/10/2014 22:47

HOW MUCH???!!!

That's a lot for a coat. I'd have to do a lot of swishing to get my moneys worth. Sherlock is ace. I never liked Benedict Cumberbatch, but have a smidge of a crush on him now. I'm 5 foot 7 so not mega tall, but I can lash on a pair of huge heels to pull off the look.

You sound very organised this evening. I'm going to do my usual throwing clean stuff on style of putting an outfit together. Do you have separate nail colours for the Autumn/Winter months? I do that.

No weigh in tomorrow. It's that time of the month and I think I would be furious if my weight had gone up. GBL has been away for the last few weeks, she had another op in Spain, her DIL reckons it's skin removal (I think she's had a boob job).

OP posts:
SolitudeSometimesIs · 20/10/2014 13:19

Got 2 and a half hours sleep last night due to sick DS1 and teething DS2. Feeling absolutely exhausted but I haven't reached for a chocolate bar to boost my energy at all. I had a bowl of lentil and veg bake for lunch and I actually feel vaguely human considering my day started at 3am. Is this some sort of miracle? Normally I would be main-lining snickers bars just to get through the hour. I think I might just love low carb diets.

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 20/10/2014 14:35

Poor you Sol. I hope they are both starting to feel better today. You did well with the lentil bake though. How old is the baby now? Does he have any teeth yet? DD2 is having trouble with hers too.

I'm feeling more energetic too. Woke feeling human before the alarm despite a disturbed night. The dark circles under my eyes tell me I should feel rubbish. I do think low carb diets are really good. Carbs are so easy though, but then you just keep reaching for them. I've been having a good think about my diet for the future.

The coat is a ridiculous price. I'd end up leaving it somewhere, I'm forever leaving cardigans and jackets at people's houses and toddler groups. Plus the children would use it to wipe themselves on it. Also I couldn't afford it ever.

I felt very organised this morning. I always used to lay my clothes out for work. I felt much smarter and happier too.

I do have different shades of polish for the different seasons. I love darker shades, but summer calls for corals and pinks . I'm sporting a nice blood red shade today. I'm going to make the effort to paint them very week. It will be something to do on a night instead of eating. I still haven't started that knitting!

Weighed myself this morning 14stone 10 lb! Woohoo. That's 11 lb lighter than last week. I hope I can get to 14st 7lb next Monday, but any loss will be great.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 20/10/2014 16:23

11 lbs down in a week is phenomenal Green! You must be absolutely thrilled. I'm so pleased for you. Do you think you look any different? I'm glad your energy has returned, you really need it with little kids to look after. Apparently the Hairy Bikers do really good low carb recipes, I haven't seen their cookbooks yet but lots of people in rave about them.

I have found that my energy level and mood is much better. I barely had any PMT this month, whereas normally I can skin people from 20 feet away. DH feels great too. We're going to stick to low carb as we have got the hang of it now. I'm really liking the quick results too.

DS2 is 10 months. He's really suffering with his teeth but I'm hoping it will all be over soon. I just keep repeating "It's just a phase, it's just a phase".

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 20/10/2014 20:21

I am feeling pretty pleased with myself. Maybe I'm being drastic with this diet, but it's better than being the same weight as last week.
I think I look less bloated, my stomach is flatter (still massive but smaller than my boobs). The dress that I wore today felt much looser under my bust. I hadn't wore it since spring and I was about the same weight now so I think my shape is changing.

I have the first Hairy Bikers diet book. I'll have to have another look. DH likes it too as it's proper food.

I'm glad your feeling more energetic too, that's good about the PMT too. I'll have to keep an eye on mine too.

Teething is so rubbish, it just never seems to end either. Poor things. I hope you get more sleep tonight.
