Anybody fancy losing a stone and a half by Easter?

MercuryRising · 27/12/2013 09:30

I have just weighed myself and the results were hideous. I need to start taking some steps to shift some pounds - the first one being moving away from the Christmas chocolates. Does anybody fancy joining me?
It is 16 weeks until Good Friday so losing a stone and a half is very doable. I am a ww monthly pass member but haven't attended meetings regularly or followed the plan properly since the Summer Blush
Please come and motivate me.

Babybarrister: well done on the run, I need to force myself to go. I count my runs by working out the km (google maps, get directions function) and timing myself doing it. Then I work out my km/h speed and use myfitnesspal to work out the cals. There are probably loads of other calculators on the net, ususually based on weight, height, km/h and time.

Day 3 has been good so far eating wise but I'm ragey and headachey despite litres of water throughout the day. Been beating my evening boredom overeating by organising my storage room

CRbear · 08/01/2014 15:57

...but what to I do in the evenings when I run out of things to dust/organise!? No rush though as it will be a while before that happens Blush

HaveToWearHeels · 08/01/2014 21:53

Woo Hoo, 1.5lb loss this week, and I even went out for a meal last Thursday, pleased with that Grin

HaveToWearHeels · 08/01/2014 22:00

CRbear, I find doing something helps me too, what about knitting or crochet ?

maygirl · 08/01/2014 23:12

I use www.mapmyrun.com/ to map out running routes. You can save them on there and if you want enter your weight and the time you ran it in to get the cals. You can even check out other local people's routes for ideas.

Did a short run up a steep hill tonight and abs blast, body combat yesterday. Need to get more organised with food and start keeping a food diary.

Moln · 09/01/2014 08:06

I still have dared weight myself

IceBeing · 09/01/2014 09:33

moln you could maybe measure boobs, hips, waist and look for progress that way instead?

Finding out your hips are 40 inches or whatever doesn't carry the same mental impact as a number in stones imho....

Rufustherednosedreindeer · 09/01/2014 14:17

Just a quickie

Had a look at a TDEE calculator

It had a few things for level of excercise, I put down sedentary, as apart from about 40 mins to get the little one to school I am not doing much else at the moment

The TDEE changed quite dramatically if I changed it to light excercise 1-3 times a week

What do people think is light excercise?

Onlyconnect · 09/01/2014 14:39

ice I think the plank is really hard so 20 secs is well worth it. I do it with knees down but can feel it working stomach even so. This may sound feeble but I do a 6 minute intense routine every morning and I'm sure it does strengthen me. I pant and sweat by the end which I think is important but I can face doing it because I know it will all be over in six minutes.

IceBeing · 09/01/2014 15:49

only That is absolutely where I am at. I can get through it if I don't have to go anywhere, get changed, and it can be done in front of the TV, in under 10 mins.

I can certainly feel the burn in that much time and get embarassingly out of breath.

TalkinPeace · 09/01/2014 15:53

Rufus
I put myself down as moderate - I swim 5 miles a week and do 8 hours of classes
but try to work to the sedentary figure as then exercise is a bonus

Moln · 09/01/2014 18:47

Good idea IceBeing, though I just bit thd bullet and stood onbthe scales. I'm 148.6 lbs.

Onwards and downwards!!!!

Bakingnovice · 09/01/2014 19:16

8 hours of classes Talkin??!

Flippin heck. Someone motivate me to start running again. Haven't run for weeks but have started eating properly.

SuckItAndSee · 09/01/2014 19:18

baking - RUN! NOW!

I have my trainers on and I'll meet you back here in an hour.
or maybe 30mins Grin.

Rufustherednosedreindeer · 09/01/2014 19:22

Thanks talkin

Was going to try running again and/or the gym but not well at the mo

Whenever I did a slimmimg class I never counted the excercise so I think that's a good idea of yours

Think my TDEE is just over 1800 so that's not too bad

SuckItAndSee · 09/01/2014 20:37

back from c25k week 4
the night sky is gorgeous this evening.

Batbear · 09/01/2014 20:52

Still not actually managed to exercise this week although the diet has been ok.
DS1 is in nursery tomorrow afternoon so I might have 20 mins for some shredding (DS2 and DH will be around looking for entertainment!)

Someone kick me in the ass!!

hurryup · 09/01/2014 20:56

0mg, I am such a quitter. I joined lowcarb bootcamp, quited, joined gym, haven't been more than 3 times, joined slimming world on line, haven't stuck to it.. how will this be different? I only have 1.5 stones to lose but it seems pointless trying.. arghhhh

TalkinPeace · 09/01/2014 21:35

Batbear - consider yourself kicked Grin

Hurryup - because you will make this time different as this time it matters to you

ToysRLuv · 10/01/2014 21:22

Sorry for absence, have been travelling and spent a day in hospital with poor DS (defective tooth take out during general anaesthesia).

A bit put off by the fact that my home scales show a slightly larger figure (a pound or so) than where I last weighed myself. I know for a fact, that I could not have gained weight, so it's ok, but still.. Will not update MFP weight until I get under my last figure..

Have been reasonably good about eating, although have been having a few drinks (slimline tonic and gin) to calm my nerves about DS. Today did the weekly torture that is tabata/HIIT. Feel like I've been run over by a truck. Always takes away my appetite too.

My new (used) Topshop jeans arrived in the post and they are a bit roomy in the thigs/bum and massive on the waist Shock. Ah well, they are very comfy with a belt.. Smile It' s been years since I was able to wear anything from Topshop.

IceBeing · 10/01/2014 21:38

ohhhh 30 seconds on the plank tonight...both sides and front! Maybe that counts as 3?

Got invited to start running with menz at work....I explained how utterly shite I would be and the guy said 'oh I only managed 3 miles before collapsing the first time I tried'

I mean WTAF is it with men and the not needing to train before running?

Bakingnovice · 11/01/2014 10:00

Morning. Can I post my loss as I weigh in on Saturdays. I've lost a whopping 7lb. Am delighted but know from experience that cutting out sugar and excessive carbs does this for me. I don't expect to lose much next week but am happy to have made a good start. I'm aiming for 1-2lb next week. How's everyone getting on?

Suckit - I still haven't run. It's been a mad week but am hoping to run tmrw. C25k is brilliant. Completed it in June and love it.

Bat - c'mon just exercise (need a kick up the bum myself too)

Hurryup - this time WILL be different (again, advice I should heed myself!). Use the support on this thread. Come Easter we will all be smug skinny biatches.

Toys - sorry to hear about your ds. Hope he's better? What's this HIIT you do that takes away appetite? Where can I do it? I know it's 4 minutes right?

RufusTheReindeer · 11/01/2014 10:25

Just weighed myself

Down by 6lbs, I think I gained about 5lbs between the beginning of December and the 4th of jan, so it's basically that weight gone

Only another 1 to 1.5 stone to go!!!!
