Anybody fancy losing a stone and a half by Easter?

I have just weighed myself and the results were hideous. I need to start taking some steps to shift some pounds - the first one being moving away from the Christmas chocolates. Does anybody fancy joining me?
It is 16 weeks until Good Friday so losing a stone and a half is very doable. I am a ww monthly pass member but haven't attended meetings regularly or followed the plan properly since the Summer Blush
Please come and motivate me.

Yeah Monday works for me, might help keep me on the straight and narrow at the weekend!

Start: 9st 7lb
Current: 9st 6lb
Target: 9st

Batbear · 06/01/2014 16:01

I'm happy for Monday too.
suckitandsee - you and I are pretty much the same start and goal wise!
Start: 11st 13
Current: 11st 12
Target: 10st

kilimmesoftly · 06/01/2014 16:25

Hello all, great losses so far!

I seem to be 11st 7 (no digital scales, so depends which way I lean). Was 11st 9 last week, so I'm happy with that.

Enjoying the exercise once I start it, and drinking lots of water - just focusing on eating well. I've considerably reduced carbs in the evening and upped protein and veg (trying for half the plate veg). I'm not being extravagant with olive oil and butter, but not particularly abstemious either.

I've an emergency 30g bar of dark chocolate in my bag, in case I get the urge to splurge on something worse. So far, I'm not feeling deprived.

Aiming overall for about 9, 10 for Easter.

maygirl · 06/01/2014 16:47

Great losses! I'm feeling good to have got back into the next stone bracket down even though only lost 1lb. I'd never been in the 11st+ apart from when pregnant but went over this Christmas, I'm only 5ft tall.
Start 11st
Current 10st 13
Target 9st 10 by Easter
Did gentle spinning Saturday and short run yesterday as was feeling bit lightheaded after donating blood last week. Hopefully back into full on exercise this week! hmm hope the pint of blood isn't my pound off!
Also going for half the plate veg at dinner times and extra water. The gain may still be xmas weight going on Teaat3Ten, my body always seems to gain/lose the weight a week after the eating/dieting!!

Dustypeas · 06/01/2014 17:13

Would love to join in too. Weighed in yesterday at 75 kilos. Want to lose 10. Have just joined gym for 4 months and am hoping weight loss will justify expense.
I find 5:2 great for weight loss but hard to keep to esp when loads of Xmas chocs around at work today!
Hoping this thread will keep me motivated

SomethingLovely · 06/01/2014 18:54

Good idea to have a weigh in day... And the idea of having to confess my diet sins here is helping me say no to various temptations during the day!

So, started on Friday... 13 st 7
Current 13 st 6
Goal 12 st - 12 st 6

I used one of this calculator things to work out that I should be losing about 1.4 lbs a week to reach the lower target, which would mean 1400 kcals a day - but I'm breastfeeding, so I'm guessing I should allow a bit extra for that? Am quite happy to take it slowly and successfully rather than be too drastic!

Bakingnovice · 06/01/2014 22:31

End of day 1 for me. No sugar is a killer. Feeling headachey and sick. Thank god it's bed time! How's everyone doing?

TalkinPeace · 06/01/2014 22:37

Bakingnovice
Have a whole pint of water before you go to sleep - so that you properly rehydrate overnight.

Bakingnovice · 06/01/2014 22:54

Thanks talkin. Will do.

I swear sugar is more addictive than cocaine. I never manage to totally give it up despite not really having a sweet tooth. Grrrrr......

HairyPloppins · 06/01/2014 22:55

Does it count if you cut off a leg to lose the weight?

LilyJoAndMe · 07/01/2014 06:15

Good morning everyone,
Lilyjo reporting in for weight- check.
Started at 76kg- today's weight 74.6kg. Very pleased to have lost almost 1 1/2 kilos in a week. That's just over 3 lbs. Grin
And how are the rest of you doing ?

LilyJoAndMe · 07/01/2014 06:17

By the way- still have two arms and two legs.

Batbear · 07/01/2014 08:45

Bakingnovice I know what you mean about sugar - I need to cut it out to get anywhere I think!

IceBeing · 07/01/2014 11:57

'lo all!

On the plus side my headache has gone!

On the minus side my stomach has swelled up to 6 months pregnant sort of size with accompanying cramps and awfulness.

Back on the plus side this thread already has a net weight lose of one stone! So only another 7 lbs to go to reach the thread target Wink

Seriously - nice one everybody!!

Bakingnovice · 07/01/2014 14:25

Ice 1 stone?!!! Amazing. How did you manage that? I'm only on day 2 and still slightly headachey. I've managed to lose 4lb overnight which just goes to show how much crap I ate over Xmas.

Massively impressed with all the losses so far.

TalkinPeace · 07/01/2014 22:32

Batbear great news - time for as much toning as you can manage so that you get denser as well as lighter Wink

MercuryRising · 08/01/2014 05:44

I had my first weigh in at ww yesterday and have gained 8 pounds in 8 weeksSad So from today I am 100% on the weight loss wagon. My current weight is 12st 3lbs so I will be aiming for 10st 10lbs by Easter.

Batbear · 08/01/2014 06:01

Good point TalkinPeace - no point weighing less if I'm still flabby!
Time to dig out the shred I think prays pelvic floor works

IceBeing · 08/01/2014 12:03

ahhh I have arrived at 10st 4....my nemesis weight.

14 years ago I spent the entire summer before my wedding desperately trying to lose weight and being stuck at 10 st 4....I never did lose any and for the next 12 years I just got bigger and bigger.

In other equally unexciting news I have been trying The Plank. I don't know whether to laugh or cry really. On the one hand I have now reached a personal best of 20 seconds which is truly pitiful and I have only just realised you are supposed to do repetitions not just a one off then lie face down on the floor for half an hour before finding the strength to get up... On the other hand I could only do 5 seconds 3 days ago...so onwards and upwards I guess.

talking do you have a recommended routine for getting toned that can be done in my living room while watching Stargate reruns?

I have been doing www.oprah.com/health/The-No-Equipment-Workout-You-Can-Do-at-Home plus a normal plank at the end. (but with no repetitions because one circuit kills me).

Ice - you're off to a great start, you'll be up to a minute before you know it! You could try adding in the side plank to work on the obliques so you get an all round ab tightening (www.womenshealthmag.com/fitness/basic-workout-side-plank) - you can start by doing it on your your side with bent knees then work up to lifting up completely... There's plenty of others you could add in - some ideas here www.womenshealthmag.com/fitness/best-abs-workout
