Here we go - nice, shiny new thread for a new week

Congratulations to JackieNo and Suejonez.

Good luck, everyone!

JackieNo · 13/07/2006 11:13

Thanks for the crown, WWB, and for collating the figures as usual. Good week, it seems. I think sue and I can share the crown without fighting.

I'd love to meet up with other MNers too - but I'm never around at the right sort of times, and I have a sneaky suspicion that DH doesn't really 'believe in' MN, so he might be a bit wary of my going off to meet up with some hairy handed truckers . Oh well.

suejonez · 13/07/2006 11:34

Thast over 6 stone between those who posted and a bit more besides if you add those who haven't yet.

I'm flattered that JackieNo Thinks I can play nicely without fighting (she's wrong, but I'm still flattered) It's my turn you can have it at the end of the week, JN.

WWB, come down and meet us for coffee - we could have a bigmofo's meeting?! Annually maybe? We could all pretend to be big hairy truckers and scare JN's DH.

JackieNo · 13/07/2006 11:39

Oi, s'not FAIR. WANNA CROWN BACK. WAAAH.
.

.

It would be so great to have a BigMoFos get together, wouldn't it. Not sure it'll ever happen. Besides - how could we go to a restaurant? (might have to be WWB's favourite pizza place, though, just for the profiteroles).

WigWamBam · 13/07/2006 11:46

Would love to do a meetup sometime ... we'd all have to agree to have a night off and then starve ourselves for the next month but hey ho, these things have to be done

Jackie, my dh is the same. I met up with MTS once (who's calling herself ItalianJob now but will always be MTS in my head!) and dh was convinced that she would turn out to be a mad axe-murderer and that Steven was her pet-name for her axe, not her son! He made me ring him the minute I met up with her, and then called dozens of times to make sure I was OK.

We could do a picnic in the summer and all bring lovely low cal salady things - you lot and your profiteroles!

JackieNo · 13/07/2006 11:57

But some people might not share their lovely salady things .

I would, of course .

schneebly · 13/07/2006 12:14

Just wanted to say well done to everyone (esp jackie and sue!) No-one gained a bit! I am really glad I got rid of the 2 pounds I gained last week (phew!) It was more down to exercise than eating better though! Have not had too bad a start this week and must behave as I have a night out on Friday and want to really enjoy it and not feel too guilty! I have been on the exercise bike quite a bit today and had cornflakes for breakfast and oatcakes, hummus and apple for lunch so okay so far! Best wishes to all for another good week!

coppertop · 13/07/2006 12:40

I'd love a BigMoFo meet-up. Then again, I've been meaning to make it to an SN meet-up one day and still haven't managed it.

WigWamBam · 13/07/2006 12:41

Mmmm, I wonder if we could organise a meet-up, or whether that would be a silly thing to do? Where is everyone, and how far would people be prepared to travel?

OP posts:
MrsJohnCusack · 13/07/2006 12:42

I would love a meet up
Sue will contact you, would love to meet one friday soon before I bugger off

I went off to meet threebob in NZ and noone in my family batted an eyelid, even though she was picking me up via car and noone saw her

ah, bless their naivete

Fauve · 13/07/2006 12:53

I'm in London and will travel anywhere to meet you lovely people

Seriously, I love meet-ups

coppertop · 13/07/2006 12:55

I'm in Cambs. No car though so it'd have to be somewhere I could get to via public transport.

WigWamBam · 13/07/2006 12:57

I'm miles away from anyone I'm in the West Midlands and would also have to use public transport.

You're all going to laugh at my accent, aren't you

OP posts:
suejonez · 13/07/2006 12:58

Well as I am sans child at the moment I'm pretty flexible, and being in west London many places are fairly accessible to me by car or train (and can give MrsJC a lift).

email me MrsJC suejonez at aol. com and anyone else who wants a quick and easy coffeee in Kew (or Richmond or whereever) in advance of a bigger more complicated meet up!

JackieNo · 13/07/2006 12:58

I'm in Oxfordshire. Bit wussy about driving long distances (and for me that means more than about three-quarters of an hour), but maybe could do train. I've also got all of August off work, so a bit more flexibility then (although will have DD and DS on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays, and just DD on Tuesdays and Thursdays)

suejonez · 13/07/2006 12:59

WWB - yup, plan to laugh like a drain.

suejonez · 13/07/2006 13:00

how about a day trip to Oxford? We could meet for lunch.

I can only do Friday, Sat or sundays.

suejonez · 13/07/2006 13:01

Alternatively somewhere in central London everyone can get to by Train/tube.

MrsJohnCusack · 13/07/2006 13:01

I can do Oxford easily, only takes an hour from house (did it the other weekend). and Oxford is nice

Fauve · 13/07/2006 13:03

I'd love a trip to Oxford - I used to live there!

JackieNo · 13/07/2006 13:03

Oxford would be very easy for me. Could do London, but if had DS with me might have to negotiate tube with buggy - or could just make him walk (he's 2.5).

suejonez · 13/07/2006 13:07

how's oxford from cambs and west mids? Coppertop and WWB - anyone else keen?

WigWamBam · 13/07/2006 13:11

I'd love to ... not sure how easy Oxford would be on the train, have never done it, but can check timetables and things - should be OK from New Street, I would have thought.

OP posts:
coppertop · 13/07/2006 13:18

I've never been to Oxford either.

I'm not sure about arranging childcare atm (especially as Miss Coppertop is stubbornly refusing EBM) so I'll just go along with what everyone elses decides and let you know if I can make it.
