Oh bum, I've only lost 1lb this week. But at least I've lost. Really got to get on to it. 10 year wedding anniversary holiday for Easter coming up. Want to look better.

Lisa78 · 08/03/2004 16:47

oops, got wrong thread!!
Shortbread triangle, anyone know how many points are in one, I am desperate to eat one!!!

Hulababy · 08/03/2004 16:50

1 shortbread finger is 1.5 points.

Lisa78 · 08/03/2004 17:02

bugger, so at least 2 points in a triangle?

BTW Hula, do you just sit here waiting to help me with my diet?

Hulababy · 08/03/2004 17:36

LOL Lisa - maybe I should set up a new business. No, just ahppened to notice your request a couple of times and I have all those points typed up into a little database on my computer - so quick and easy to search and find.

Grommit · 08/03/2004 19:00

week 2 - stuck to diet and did not lose anything - help - feel like giving up!!!

SecondhandRose · 08/03/2004 19:33

Grommit, what are you eating? When are you eating? No leaving it all until 11pm. Are you having breakfast. Exercising?

Don't you dare give up,

WE ARE ALL EATING TOO MUCH SO OUR BODIES ARE STORING OUR FAT ON THE OUTSIDE. IT SHOULD BE ON THE INSIDE SO WE NEED TO CUT DOWN ON THE FAT INTAKE DRASTICALLY AND OUR BODIES WILL START TO BURN OFF THE EXCESS FAT. Hey presto we will be gorgeous for the summer. Think of those gorgeous wedge shoes and floaty 50's dresses. We can do it!

By the way I have lost one more pound. That's 9lb in 3 weeks.

Grommit · 08/03/2004 19:45

Secondhandrose - I really stuck to the diet - the only thing I can think is that I did not drink much water and had 18 points per day instead of 20. I ate breakfast lunch and dinner - not all points at onece! I am really fed up as I felt I starved all last week! Oh well - I will give it a few more weeks and see how it goes...

SecondhandRose · 09/03/2004 13:44

Grommit it will come off, trust me. Can you get to a WW class and speak to coordinator? You don't have to go every week.

Are you eating a balance diet, not like my DH who thinks he can eat 3 Curly Wurly's a day and still lose weight. (they are 2.5 points each).

Grommit · 09/03/2004 13:58

Yes- a very healthy balanced diet - I will keep trying - THANKS!

SecondhandRose · 09/03/2004 18:19

Grommit, are you sure the scales aren't playing up? Measure yourself round the waist, the fattest part of your leg and arm and your thighs. Mine were so bad it was disgusting. My thighs were the same as DH's.

candy · 09/03/2004 20:43

Thankyou Kittypickle - off to try now and am determined to lose a few pounds of wobble!

champs · 10/03/2004 03:20

hi gromit, it may be the fact that you had 18 pts instead of 20 pts, 14 pts too low (2per day for 7 days) It may not seem alot but that is nearly a whole days worth, your body may have gone into starvation mode, try to eat all the pts you are allocated, unless you are saving them for a special day.

Demented · 11/03/2004 16:48

Can I join you all here, I have lost a stone just by cutting down etc but am feeling fed up having put 1lb of that back on this morning and don't want to lose sight of my goal. I would like to try Weight Watchers but don't want to go to classes or sign up on-line (already spending too much money on fitness classes and creche to put the kids in whilst I attend the classes). I am going to look out for the points books etc on e-Bay and if it's OK can I quiz you all if I get stuck?

mammya · 11/03/2004 22:35

I'd like to join you too. I really need to lose some weight but can't seem to do it by just cutting down (it's the snacking that gets me...) and need something more structured. I know ww works as I did it for a couple of months last year but don't want to join up as can't afford it. Have still got list of point values but don't remember how many points I can have. I've noticed daily points for breastfeeding women and for men have been posted, would anyone post the daily points for non-breastfeeding women?

Demented · 12/03/2004 21:20

I'm very fed up tonight and keep eating wrong things. I have my eye on a few Weight Watchers bits and pieces on e-Bay. Does anyone know is the Points Finder all I really need? Is it suitable for home cooking rather than ready meals etc?

Hulababy · 12/03/2004 21:23

Hi mammya. The points for woman are:

18 = under 10 stone
20 = 10-12 stone
22 = 12-14 stone
24 = 14-16 stone
26 = 16-18 points
28 = 18-20 stone
30 = 20 stone and over

Hulababy · 12/03/2004 21:25

Demented - I have a whole list of all the points from the Pure Points book ( a couple of years old I nknow but does work) on the computer I have it i several formats now and can e-mail you a copy. Just e-mail me at claireandrich(at)beeb(dot)net and tell me which format you want from:

Access (if 2000 or above) = best option as can search easy
Excel (tell me what version to save as if not 200 or above)
Works spreadsheet
Word

Demented · 12/03/2004 21:54

Just mailed you Hulababy, you're a star!

Hulababy · 12/03/2004 21:59

I have just replied and sent the file. Hope it comes through okay! Just don't tell WW!

Demented · 12/03/2004 22:55

It did, thank-you Hulababy, only problem is I printed it off (technophobe that I am) and didn't realise it was going to come out on so many pages, I'm away to hide the evidence before DH sees it, I think I might have to shrink the text or something, will speak to DH he is the Excel expert in our house. Thank you again and don't worry I won't mention it to WW.

mammya · 12/03/2004 23:27

Thanks for that Hulababy.
Would it be possible for you to send me your list of points? Tell me here if yes and I'll email you.

SecondhandRose · 13/03/2004 07:12

Still losing a couple of pounds a week but went to Pizza Express last night so no breakfast for me. I know that's not ideal but oh well.

I have just realised that since I did WW a couple of years ago they have altered the points system as now I am supposed to be on 22 points a day where the old system was between 18-20. So beware anyone that may be mixing and matching from this time and last.

My husband eats 22 points from the 2001 book but he can eat 30 points on the 2004 book. Don't ask me!

Hulababy · 13/03/2004 08:46

mammya - no problem; just e-mail me at address below and say which version you want.

secondhandrose - no idea why; the book I have is the old one too. I know that DH has 30 points with that as a male, weighing 14-16 stone; and I have 18 points as a female weighing under 10 stone.

Demented · 13/03/2004 10:58

Can I just ask all you WW experts a few questions before I get going today?

The extra points for exercise do you have to eat them?

The points that you can save up for the weekend (you can tell I'm thinking of all the important stuff here) how many can I save if I am on 22 points a day (lard ass that I am)? Also does that change if I have been exercising? or Is it just a blanket figure of X number of points however many points you have?

Thank you.
