Hi, I'll join, as well! At the moment I am trying to keep on track and not gain tons of weight, as I a pregnant, due in May - my GP has given me the go-ahead to stay on WW during my pregnancy but it's been hard (starchy foods are king cooking still makes me sick).

I want to make sure I stay on track with healthy eating so that me and baby get through the 2nd half of pregnancy a bit fitter and healthier, and then once baby is here, well, tbh, I have 50kg to lose (and still won't be a skinny minny after that Blush).

I was doing well with losing weight this time last year, but 2013 has been nutty - my granny died in January, we had a registrar's wedding in the UK in February, work stress, housing stress, big wedding party back home in summer in which I organised and did everything myself, back to more work stress and finally pregnancy and buying and moving house all at the same time - I'm a stress and comfort eater, it wasn't good for me.

So I need a support group that helps me stay on track, reminds me to eat my veggies, helps me to stay away from the pudding when I feel depressed and hormonal and encourages me to give this poor dog more walks.

May I?

Pandorassox · 01/01/2014 18:47

I'd love to join in!

I have 4 stone to lose, I'm currently 13.2 stone and my goal weight is 9 stone.
I have bought the 30 day shred and an exercise bike As well as logging my food intake on the my fitness pal app, so hoping to see some good results!

phantomhairpuller · 01/01/2014 19:24

Wow what a lot of new people! I'm checking back in but am yet to brave the scales Blush
I know I've put weight back on, I can feel it in my clothes. And I generally feel more bloated Confused

Anyway, I'm aiming to get back on track on Monday- DH goes back to work then and it'll make it easier for me to get back into my old routine.

Happy new year everyone Grin

Count me in, Need to lose 3st but like Helena have severely underactive thyroid so it seems to be impossible.
Been going to gym 3 times a week since September and not lost a pound, Thinking of going low carb to see if that will help.

ReastieYuleANBU · 01/01/2014 19:28

BombayBunty · 01/01/2014 19:50

Want to be an 18 on the top before July, off to Mauritius to see DH's family!

heather1 · 01/01/2014 19:56

ReastieYuleANBU · 01/01/2014 21:02

Sleepingbunnies · 01/01/2014 21:08

I'm starting tomorrow again... :)

ReastieYuleANBU · 01/01/2014 21:15

That's the important thing sleeping , not giving up, no matter how many 'I'm starting again tomorrows' you have, just keep starting again (or even I'm starting again RIGHT NOW instead of tomorrow).

LittleDoris · 01/01/2014 21:23

I would like to join too. I have 8 stone to lose. Shock

First steps will be cutting out any drink that isn't water or green tea, cutting out bread and cutting down on potatoes rice and pasta.

After that I am totally clueless. I tried MFP in 2013 and gained, depite sticking to it strictly. :(

BubbyBum · 01/01/2014 22:14

Hi, can I join in on the group?

I've got at least seven stone to lose. Ideally, I'd like to shed 100lbs. I feel as though I have to do something about my weight this year, otherwise it will never ever happen. I don't know why I feel that way, it's just the feeling I have right now.

I have had previous success with weight watchers, but I'm attempting to do the 5:2 diet, with the blessing of my gp.

I normally weigh myself on Friday mornings, but I will be sure to update and post on Wednesdays.

I also use a Fitbit, so if anyone out there using one wants to be in touch that way too, I'd love to add more friends to my short list!

revivingsnowshower · 01/01/2014 22:15

Hi can i join too. I am 13 stone and want to lose about 4 stone but i would like to get just under 9 stone as 9 is my max healthy weight, i am only 5ft tall. I am really trying to get healthy. I hurt my back recently and i think losing weight will help me to improve the condition of my back and give me a chance of not hurting it so badly in future.
I have always struggled with my weight don't know how i will do this but i lost a stone while my back was at its worst. Now I am feeling a lot better and my weight is already going back up so i really want to get started with something before i put on all i lost. I am not sure what diet to do really. I've struggled on every diet i have tried, and I've tried loads. I will think about it and post again when i decide.

revivingsnowshower · 01/01/2014 22:28

Can any of you successful dieter tell me what diets are working for you? I can only do very gentle exercise at present but I am interested to hear if that is helping you.

Sirzy · 01/01/2014 22:40

I'm not doing any specific diet just working hard to change my relationship with food and make better choices. Meal planning and my fitness plan help me focus. I also do running and wii fit for exercise. I have lost 3.5 stone since may and have another 2.5 to go

revivingsnowshower · 01/01/2014 22:45

That's amazing Sirzy do you have any special guidelines for healthy eating?

Sirzy · 01/01/2014 22:50

I found for me that white bread (and other white carbs) are bad so I try to eat as few of them as possible, haven't cut them out completly but don't binge like I used to. I make sure I have 3 meals a day and they they are pretty healthy - if I snack it tends to be fruit but because I have decent meals I don't want to snack as much generally.

revivingsnowshower · 01/01/2014 22:57

Thanks sounds sensible, i do find snacking is my big problem. I need to get that under control.

ReluctantBeing · 01/01/2014 23:27

Well I weighed myself this evening and I will see what I can do before next Weds. It's just a bummer that we are post-Christmas skint.

revivingsnowshower · 01/01/2014 23:51

Isn't it a coincidence that weigh in day was already Wednesday and it was also new year. Perfect day to start! I was just reading the first of these threads to see what others did to lose weight. It seems people have lost through several different ways. I like Sirzys way above but wonder if I would start snacking too much. Calorie counting or point would allow you to count in a snack or two.

purplemurple1 · 02/01/2014 00:52

I calorie count (lost 6stone, 2 to go) I like the freedom to eat and drink what I want and earn more cals through exercise.
I couldn't cope with banned foods.

revivingsnowshower · 02/01/2014 08:57

Wow purple 6 stone is wonderful I am definitely thinking about counting calories.

Sirzy · 02/01/2014 09:11

Purple I couldn't cope with banned foods either, that was my problem with conventional diets they simply don't work long term for me as I start craving what I can't have
