Hello quiche avoiders Wink

Lovely shiny new thread- we are a talkative bunch!

First Thread

Second Thread

To be a quiche avoider you must
-have a considerable amount of weight to lose
-be serious about wanting to lose it
-give other members a virtual kick up the arse when needed
-weigh in with us on a Wednesday (or if you weigh in on another day, post your results on a wednesday)

So roll up, jump in and lets lose lbs! and if you are having a moment of weakness just remember... what would clarinet do Wink

Ok I'm here.

Sirzy · 01/01/2014 12:10

I will post on the right thread this time, hi reluctant!

Sleepingbunnies · 01/01/2014 12:15

I want to lose 2 stone by June ... Won't happen but worth a shot!

Lindor · 01/01/2014 12:15

Hi and Happy New year. Can I join in? Need to lose in the region of 4 stone, and a weekly check in is just what I need to keep me on the straight and narrow

MrsCliveStanden · 01/01/2014 12:16

Happy new year everyone! Am new to posting on this thread. Am 8st 13, starting the harcombe diet tomorrow, going to combine that with the 30 day shred, not doing that till Monday though!

Sirzy · 01/01/2014 12:17

Sleeping you can do it. Even if just 1lb a week you won't be far off.

JennyOnAPlate · 01/01/2014 12:31

Can I join in please? Every year for the last 5 years I've lost 1.5 stone and put it on again. This year has to be the year I crack it properly.

I weigh around 17.5 stone now I should think. I've been too scared to get on the scales after my whole of december christmas excesses. I will post my weight next weds.

Sleepingbunnies · 01/01/2014 12:31

I have zero willpower :(

Sleepingbunnies · 01/01/2014 12:32

177lb... What is that 12.5 stone?

Helenagrace · 01/01/2014 12:40

Can I join please? I have a lot of weight to lose and zero thyroid function which makes it much harder. Tried slimming world and WW but the leaders just don't get that when your thyroid is fecked no programme is easy.

I need to find some exercise I can do. I'd like to run but I'm too fat.

I have actually lost 2lb over the last 10 days. Not quite sure how but I'm not knocking it!

FryOneFatManic · 01/01/2014 12:56

I'd like to join, I think. I am 15 stone and 6 lbs, and although I have managed to lose a stone and a half over the last 2 years, slowly, like, I'd like to get a lot more shifted, and get fitter.

I tried the NHS counch to 5K programme last year, but I need to get some weight off before beginning again as my knees hurt when I tried (although I did manage to get to week 2, so I can do it with motivation, I just need non-painful knees).

I did manage to not gain any weight this Xmas Grin

MuttonCadet · 01/01/2014 13:00

I'd like to join in please.

I'm 12.6 stone and would like to get back down to under 10.

I've done WW before, and will try with them again, we have a new dog, so I've upped my walking already, hopefully it'll just fall off (I realise I'm kidding myself here).

Found it much more difficult since turning 40, but I am determined to get back to pre wedding weight.

Sleepingbunnies · 01/01/2014 13:40

Mutton! We're the same weight :) we will do this!!

I have to be bridesmaid for my sister... I will not be the fattest person in the picture!

MuttonCadet · 01/01/2014 13:44

Hurrah Sleeping bunnies - when's the wedding?

ReastieYuleANBU · 01/01/2014 13:49

Wow busy here this morning. Hello everyone.

New year weigh in and sts, 150.5 (which I think is around the high ten stoness) BUT this time 2 years ago I was edging towards 18 stone
I've been eating too muchchocolate though, I wish dh would just eat it all to stop temptation. Did an insanity workout this morn.ing so feeling better for that.

FryOneFatManic · 01/01/2014 13:49

Sleepingbunnies I can so understand you here, I was that fat bridesmaid once, never again.

I do have a family wedding to attend in the summer, my incentive to lose weight now. I've not worn a dress for years. But won't be wearing a hat

moonshine · 01/01/2014 14:42

Happy New Year everyone! I'm slinking back - everyone on this thread did so well last year that I felt a terrible failure (start 2014 more than 1 stone heavier than 2013 Hmm) but I have a renewed determination and have promised myself that I will try everything to see what works for me (my metabolism or hormonal response or something is completely f*ked, it would seem, so eat less, move more doesn't work for me).

I'm fed up of my old clothes not fitting, of not pursuing a full life because 'I'll do it when I lose weight', of not feeling like my true self.

I did 5:2 for a month and didn't lose a sodding pound, despite really trying hard.

So plan A is: restart exercise, eat less carbs although not totally the low-carb way(tried that and it didn't work either) but not cut them out completely.

Hopefully I won't get to Plan Z before it starts working (but if that's what it takes.....)

Weigh-in today: 16st 3lbs

Good luck to everyone!

Sirzy · 01/01/2014 14:49

Welcome back moonshine. Welcome to new posters.

2014 will be a year of weight loss for us all!

MarysDressSways · 01/01/2014 16:00

Welcome to all the new posters!

twinkletoedelephant · 01/01/2014 17:12

Hello no idea what o weigh scales are broken but am a 16/18. I would like to be in a size 10 for my dad's wedding.

I have never been on a diet before but no more biscuits cheese and crackers or chocolate and I intend to start running when the kids are back at school....

Any tips for a DVD I think dh has insanity somewhere??? Will that actually kill me ;)
Or should I start with Somthing else?

knitcorner · 01/01/2014 17:13

Ok I'm in although I can't bring myself to step on the scales for another week, see you next Wednesday!

Sirzy · 01/01/2014 17:16

Twinkle - I like the 30 day shred.

TonyThePony · 01/01/2014 17:17

Hi, I'm new but very very keen.
I'm too scared to weigh myself... Do you have to weigh to join in?

purplemurple1 · 01/01/2014 17:26

Hi I'm joining - 2 stone to lose hopefully by June. I'm counting calories as I've lost 6 stone doing that pre baby so I know it works for me.

DVD - Leslie Samson walking is a good starter one. 30 day is good but more toning than weight loss.

Sirzy · 01/01/2014 17:27

Tony - no you don't have to weigh, you can just use the thread for general support.
