Hello quiche avoiders Wink

Lovely shiny new thread- we are a talkative bunch!

First Thread

Second Thread

To be a quiche avoider you must
-have a considerable amount of weight to lose
-be serious about wanting to lose it
-give other members a virtual kick up the arse when needed
-weigh in with us on a Wednesday (or if you weigh in on another day, post your results on a wednesday)

So roll up, jump in and lets lose lbs! and if you are having a moment of weakness just remember... what would clarinet do Wink

I totally agree with lottie and Clarinet Your health comes first and you need to forget about dieting if you are beating yourself up about the lbs. I hope all goes well and please pop in once in a while so you can give us a kick up the backside.
ThanksThanksThanks

My night out was a bust.Xmas Sad Our taxi was almost an hour late, we could of walked there and back twice in that time. The meal was nice although not sure on cold crème brulee. I did have two to decide if I liked it or notXmas Blush I did have a good time though as the girls are a right laugh.

Weigh in this morning, 1st in 3 weeks and I have put on 4 bloody pounds. It's not a surprise as I have lost all motivation these last couple of weeks and college is stressing me out. I have now put on all but half a pound of my illness loss.

DD1 has to see the dr about her blood tests next week which is scaring her. She is terrified that something bad comes back. She has had her x rays now as they were fast tracked. She is still in a lot of pain and the drs have just said if the painkillers don't work don't take them. I hope the results point the way to some pain relief that can work

IsThatTrue · 08/12/2013 21:47

henrietta it's a real shame you are having to bow out of the thread, you will be missed. But you must do what's right for you. Thank you for starting this thread. You gave me the confidence to jump in and share my woes and it's really helped.

Well it's ds2s first birthday today so I have eaten badly. But I haven't been dieting at all this week and the scales are creeping down, even with my exercise truly lacking due to ds2 being poorly and being unputdownable!

Sirzy · 10/12/2013 17:33

Henrietta I hope everything looks up soon xx

How is everyone else getting on? Hope avoiding christmas goodies isn't proving too hard.

I wanted to be at 3.5 stone off by Christmas and have 1lb to go. Need to get back to exercising properly though!

IsThatTrue · 11/12/2013 08:19

3lb down today so:

Starting weight : 14 stone 1
Weight last week : 10 stone 5
Weight today : 10 stone 2

Good luck to all other weighers today. I find myself questioning the reliability of my scales even though my dress size has gone down too which is pretty crazy.

LottieAndTheDinosaur · 11/12/2013 08:52

I can't face weighing in today sorry Blush Blush Blush Sad

well done IsThat on a great loss - hope everyone else has good results too Smile

clarinetV2 · 11/12/2013 08:56

Uh-oh. 4 lb on for me this week. The festive season is under way - I've had a couple of nights out and a bit more snacking than usual but I didn't think the damage would be that bad, and so near to the start of things. Hopefully some of it's water retention.

Congratulations, IsThat. Hope others have done better than me!

phantomhairpuller · 11/12/2013 09:05

I'm not weighing in today either.

I've resigned myself to the fact that the festive season is well under way and consequently my weigh loss journey has come to a stand still. Rather than take it week-by-week, I think I'd rather look at the damage as a whole once we're into the new year.

Well done to all who are still going strong Smile

AlternativeMoniker53 · 11/12/2013 10:06

Hi guys, sorry I've been away for so long, I've had a shocking month, during which I had an operation which took a lot longer to recover from than expected and then my mother died. I've eaten a lot of chips and drunk a lot of wine. I'm not going to weigh myself as I don't think I need that on top of everything else! DH is away, the teenagers are exam-stressing and I've got PMT. Ho bloody ho! I hope everyone else is well and getting into the Christmas spirit x

IsThatTrue · 11/12/2013 10:32

Oh alternative it sounds like you've had a lot to deal with. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I can completely understand those saying it's easier to wait until Christmas is over before restarting. If we can't enjoy Christmas time without fretting about the scales then it's be a truely sad day !

Just got back from a 5.5 mile run. I've been slacking on the running where ds2 has been poorly, it was hard today. Back to it again tomorrow but only 3 miles before toddlers.

MarysDressSways · 11/12/2013 11:23

Sorry to hear about your Mum Alternative. I think taking a break until the new year is the sensible thing to do!

I'm down 2lb this week, so -

Starting weight - 20st
Last week - 16st 8lb
This week - 16st 6lb

I'm trying to do good work until Christmas properly kicks in. I had a couple of Christmas nights out/dinners over the weekend and was scared about this week..

I had some lovely pumpkin mash last night! Sooo low calorie but so tasty. I'm really getting into my veg. Pumpkin, butternut squash, swede, cauliflower etc. I'm a big vegetable obsessed at the mo, lol.

B52s · 11/12/2013 11:51

Starting weight: 68kg, Weight last week: 65.3 kg, Weight this week 65.0 kg. I can't do stones and pounds. I seem to be losing a steady third of a kilo a week, which is definitely keep-uppable (except over Christmas/New Year).

Alternative, I'm so sorry about your mum, thoughts are with you especially at this time of year.

Reastie · 11/12/2013 18:06

Oh alternative I'm so sorry, what a tough time.

Well done on the losses, STS here again . Not surprising given the amount of chocolate that has been consumed Blush . I've just received my new workout challenge - insanity asylum, which I will try at the week end

AlternativeMoniker53 · 11/12/2013 19:26

Thank you for the kind thoughts, it's been a long time cing and was a blessing in the end but just a shock still when it actually happened. A big loss.

Well done weight loss and STS-ers and solidarity with those among us who are plumping back up a bit, Tis the season!

Debs75 · 11/12/2013 20:25

4 lbs on this week.Sad Have been eating soup and veg stir frys in an attempt to save some calories for our girly lunch tomorrow at a Chinese all you can eat buffetHmm
Not sure it will work but at least no more meals out until birthday next week.

IsThatTrue · 15/12/2013 08:58

I hope everyone's doing well this week I'm missing thechat now it's do quiet!

Sirzy · 15/12/2013 19:11

I keep neglecting this thread - sorry!

I am at 3.5 stone lost now :) non scale victory today, I have managed to wear high stiletto heels for the first time in years today previously my weight and bad joints meant it was impossible

ReastieYuleANBU · 18/12/2013 06:44

alternative how are you?

I've been neglectful too, hopefully everyone is doing well, although it's a hard time of year for us.

sirzy that's excellent, yay.

0.5 lb down today, half a pound counts right? Grin . Have started insanity the asylum workout program this week (although lite version as haven't got time to do it 5 x a week). It is HARD! But hopefully it will be the challenge I need.

MarysDressSways · 18/12/2013 10:14

Half a pound definitely counts!

I'm 2.5lb down this week. Rather pleased with that because I went out for a curry at the weekend and had lots of wine at the work Christmas party during the week.

How is everyone? Looking forward to Christmas?

MarysDressSways · 18/12/2013 10:15

Also, I don't think I'll ever be able to walk in heels, whatever weight I am. I'm just no good at it and the balls of my feet hurt after 10mins :(

B52s · 18/12/2013 10:57

Starting weight: 68kg, WLW: 65kg, WTW: 64.6kg. Another third or thereabouts. And that's despite 2 Christmas meals, and a works party where I drank my entire weeks worth of alcohol in a few hours. But I danced a lot, so that was some exercise.

A mince pie (shop bought) has 256 cals! 8 of those would be an entire day's worth of calories. May need to restrict these a bit more (as in, not one a day). Do you think homemade is better for you?

Well done Marys and Reastie, and well done Sirzy on high heels. I stagger about in those (even when I'm sober) and my little toes HURT the next day.

I might miss out the weigh in next Wednesday, seeing as it is Christmas Day. Good luck ladies, enjoy, indulge but try not to over-do too much!

IsThatTrue · 18/12/2013 11:56

Well done weighers!

Well despite having mastitis and laying in bed shivering so DH ordered kebab for dinner yesterday and then bought me the box of heros my DB sent for Christmas, I have lost 1.5lb this week.

So starting weight: 14stone 1
Weight last week: 10stone 2
Weight this week: 10stone 0.5

I have lost over 4 stone, in 6 months. :)

Being on the festive season, I'm feeling very happy with myself ( once this damned mastitis fucks off!)

B52s · 18/12/2013 12:25

Four stone Shock well done IsThat.

Debs75 · 18/12/2013 12:51

STS this week which isn't that bad.
I had all you can eat Chinese on Thursday and was at a kids party on Saturday which was very well catered. I didn't go mad either time but it was enough to stop the weight loss.

Will probably be a sts or weight gain next week as it was college party and drinks yesterday and my birthday Friday.

Zalen · 18/12/2013 15:56

Can I join you guys please. I know just before Christmas is not a great time to start trying to lose weight but about a month ago I got on the scales and realised I was about to hit 15 stone. A year ago I had got down to 13st 4 but that has crept back on over the last 12 months so I need to start taking my weight seriously.

So my starting weight was 14st 13, I weighed in this morning at 13st 9.4. It's going pretty well so far but I need all the help I can get to keep me on the straight and narrow.

Working on an estimated height of 5ft 6 my bmi is currently obese and I need to get to about 9.5 stone to be in the middle of the normal range.

Sirzy · 18/12/2013 16:08

well done everyone on the losses :)

I have lost 1lb this week.

Over christmas, remember to enjoy yourself and not worry too much but focus on the long plan and don't go too daft!
