HenriettaPye · 26/08/2013 19:53

Hi all!! (waves!)

Cant believe our last thread filled up so quickly!

For those of you who don't know us, the 'Avoid the Quiche' Quiche is a group of people who all want to lose a substantial amount of weight (no coming on here complaining about the half a stone you desperately need to lose, thanks very much!) We all have different personal goals and reasons for wanting to lose weight, whether it be for a special holiday coming up, to aid fertility or to be healthier. This thread is a place to share your highs and lows, talk to like minded people, get encouragement and offer support to others when they need it!

Official weigh in day is Wednesday- Slimmer of the week will get a virtual bunch of flowers, woohoo!! Flowers

I personally am aiming to lose 6 stone. It wont be easy but i've got a great bunch of ladies behind me keeping me focused and for that i'm very grateful! Smile

HenriettaPye · 11/09/2013 18:16

Loads of great losses this week! Will be interesting to see how much we lose in total! Will do my listings later when everyone has posted theirs Smile

Reastie · 11/09/2013 18:32

Wow, well done on the loses. I've maintained this week.

IKnewHouseworkWasDangerous · 11/09/2013 18:45

Henrietta. In case you missed it I gained 2 guinea pigs at the weekend. Real ones!

ThwartedbyMum · 11/09/2013 18:50

More great losses this week! Unfortunately I am not one of them, I have a horrible cold and I can only weigh in at the gym and did not feel like going at all today, or the last few days. Probably just as well as I have really been embracing the whole feed a cold thing. Back on track from tomorrow.

LayMizzRarb · 11/09/2013 19:15

Go Henrietta! That new outfit for Christmas Day is calling you!

LayMizzRarb · 11/09/2013 19:17

Thwarted - you have probably used a fair bit of energy (I.e calories!) fighting the cold. You could be pleasantly surprised !

HenriettaPye · 11/09/2013 19:30

Oh fantastic Iknewhousework! Hope they are settling in well! Smile

Going for a big push this week. I need to lose 3lb next weigh in to hit my 1 stone mark.

Motivated by all the big losses this week.

Well done everyone. Can you believe this is already our 5th weigh in since Henrietta began this thread?

LegoAcupuncture · 11/09/2013 20:38

Would like to lose a stone and a half by the end of November. Think that is doable.

My mini goal is 7 lbs having already lost a stone.

Is it the 5th weigh in? Thought I was the 4th?

Lorelai · 11/09/2013 20:43

3lbs off and slimmer of the week Grin That's 9.5 lbs in three weeks, I am thrilled.

HenriettaPye · 11/09/2013 21:05

Yes lego this is 5th!

Think that's everyone now? Will start the list Smile

LegoAcupuncture · 11/09/2013 21:14

Ah of course, I didn't do the first one! Sorry, forgot about that.

SummerHoliDidi · 11/09/2013 21:43

Sorry I haven't made it on in time for the list. I did post my loss on Sat but meant to put it on again today. I lost 2.5lbs this week, making a total of 1st 2lbs in the 11 weeks I've been doing SW.

Well done to everyone who's lost.

HenriettaPye · 11/09/2013 21:47

Mia I'm 3lb off losing a stone too Smile I don't think I'll do it by next week cos I lost 3lb this week but I'm on track to lose it by my little half stone targets that I've set myself!

well done henrietta and I've said it before but THANK YOU for started this thread - its quite likely I would have lost my willpower by now and given up but reading all the motivational posts and checking in is helping to keep me going!! Thanks to everyone on the thread Flowers Smile

clarinetV2 · 11/09/2013 22:24

Great work, folks, well done. And it's brilliant to see some of the people who were disheartened last week, (LayMizz , Henrietta and anyone else) posting some healthy losses this. I'm so pleased you stayed with us. Smile

I have one more gerbil to lose to hit my final target. I'm trying not to get too excited about next week being The Week in case it doesn't happen. Boy, am I going to be on my best food behaviour for the next few days!

BirdingWidow · 11/09/2013 22:41

What a good week all round! Well find everybody.

I second what MissElodie said - thank you Henrietta for starting this thread, and to the rest of you for sticking around to inspire, commiserate and generally chat. If it wasn't for this thread I would still be starting 'next week' and I genuinely don't think I would lose anything for my wedding. Now thanks to the support on here from people who actually understand, I think I really might!

Have to go wedding dress shopping soon. I have seen a dress I like the look of and am making an appointment to try it on but the sample size is a 12 Shock. I am dreading trying that on (or rather, holding it up against myself and seeing 50% of me peep round the sides of it). Humiliation aside, whether I choose that or another I am going to have to gamble on what size to order as I'll need to do so 5-6 months in advance. Eek.

BirdingWidow · 11/09/2013 22:43

Er, well done. Bloody phone and sausage fingers.

LayMizzRarb · 11/09/2013 23:31

I second what MissElodie says - thanks to Hen for starting this, and thanks for everyone who took the trouble to write something in a post specifically mentioning me by name. It is much easier to hold on and hang in there when you know other people are rooting for you.
I wish you all a highly motivated, healthy week!

HenriettaPye · 11/09/2013 23:39

Lovely messages tonight! Smile

Thanks all for being part of this thread, and part of my journey to a slimmer healthier life! I couldn't have done it without you and I consider us to all be friends! Smile

Aww you lot are awesome :)

Just checking in before bed to say that I've had a good day today, no random food choices and I've felt more in control.

TiredNursey · 12/09/2013 06:27

Didn't get anywhere near the thread yesterday.
But 2lbs down so hit my first stone.
That's 1 down, 6 to go.
Have been having very busy week, so not getting online much.
Srill craving the unhealthy stuff. Really really wanted biscuits last night, but had carrots and some low fat hummus instead.
Not quite the same, but took me over the hurdle anyway!

phantomhairpuller · 12/09/2013 07:08

Well done everyone on brilliant losses Grin

Here's to another great week
