Today is a big day for me, a turning point! I've always been 'big' however have just been getting bigger and bigger. I want to lose 6 stone- starting from today.

Anyone else in the same boat who would like to swap inspiration and tips? Today I've planned to eat healthily and go for a nice long walk Grin

phantom can I offer you a word of wisdom for doing the shred? I did it for a few days with dd2 (3yo) around and about, she distracted me for a minute, I landed badly from a jumping jack and I hurt my back. I was in pain and could barely walk for 4 days!! Now I'm only doing it when she's not around, so after she's in bed is best for me. So be very careful that you don't do yourself an injury when ds is distracting you. I'm now trying to do more in the way of walking and swimming as there is less chance of me injuring myself that way.

Well done sirzy, size 14 is fantastic!! I'm aiming for a size 14. The size 18 skirts I bought at the start of the summer are now too big, so I'm thinking I might get into a 16 for my work trousers in a couple of weeks.

Lorelai · 20/08/2013 13:43

Well down ditzy, I would kill to be a size 14!!

2k swim done, not bad for my first time for a few months. I will probably be stiff tomorrow though. Does anyone know if low fat super noodles are free on SW? Had some in the cupboard so thought they would-be good as a quick lunch and they are really tasty!! Might get some more in if they are free

Lorelai · 20/08/2013 13:44

Sorry sirzy, auto correct fail!!

NUFC69 · 20/08/2013 13:55

Well done to all of you for keeping this up! I hope you don't mind me posting again (I posted earlier that I had lost 5 stone this year - about five lbs to go until I get to my target weight). One of the things I have learnt is always to try to weigh yourself at the same time of day. I have been losing over a kg a week for ages; I am weighed at 9.30 a.m., the other week it was 2.00 p.m. and I had actually put on a kg! Cue much disappointment and breast beating. However, when I was weighed the following week at my usual time I had lost 3 kg. Now I am sure I hadn't lost it in the week, it must have been over the two weeks and my 2.00 p.m. weigh in just hadn't shown it.

Secondly, (hope this isn't TMI!), you would be amazed how much difference it makes if you are, ahem, not regular and haven't "been" for a couple of days. I think someone earlier was asking about constipation - my clinic recommends Movicol which you can buy at the chemist.

Hope this helps you all.

IsaacCox · 20/08/2013 14:15

Grin NUFC. I always 'go' Blush before I weigh in. I also make sure I weigh at 7.30am too.

Lorelai well done, a 2km swim is fantastic. Hope you're not too stiff in the morning. Not sure about the noodles, sorry.

IsaacCox · 20/08/2013 14:17

I know this'll sound weird, but I've just changed the bed without getting a sweat on! That's a big thing for me Grin

I'm loving everything that losing weight brings with it.

Lorelai · 20/08/2013 14:41

:) its the little things that make it worthwhile and keep the motivation up.

I am currently at soft play and my girls have each left an open packet of pomp bears on the table in front of me!! Sooo tempting but I shall resist!!

Sirzy · 20/08/2013 14:45

I always weigh around 7am.

Thank you. I was an 18/20 to start with and now a 14/16 so very happy! Would love to get into a 12 eventually!

LegoAcupuncture · 20/08/2013 14:53

Well done Sirzy! That's brilliant. I dream of fitting into a size 14.

Been a funny day today, could have a silly eaten my own weight in crisps, but have been good.

YellowCanary1 · 20/08/2013 15:16

I always weigh first thing in morning after visiting bathroom! Interestingly if I do weigh later in day, I'm always a couple of lbs more!
Being very good, stuck waiting in garage for over an hour, and even though I've not had lunch I'm resisting sneaking to mmacdonalds next door!!

BirdingWidow · 20/08/2013 15:39

Aw Yellow, what a lovely DH you have.

I am sure a lot of us eat for emotional reasons and recognise that we do. I hadn't thought about dieting that way though.

LayMizzRarb · 20/08/2013 16:00

Nice one Sirzy!
I have just ordered a new hand blender on line, so will spend tomorrow making some lovely filling soup!

MiaWallace · 20/08/2013 16:20

I'm going camping for 4 days over the bank holiday weekend.

Will only have disposable bbq(s) and a small camping stove.

Any suggestions for low calorie eating while still enjoying the camping experience?

IKnewHouseworkWasDangerous · 20/08/2013 16:37

Some kinds of bachelors super low fat noodles are free.Others are not. I am an on line member so if you let me know what brand and flavours and i will check it out for you

IKnewHouseworkWasDangerous · 20/08/2013 16:42

Lego I know how that feels. For some reason I woke up this morning thinking I was going to binge today. So I sorted out a bag of fruit to take around with me so i had no excuse. I did eat a jacket potato and chilli for lunch but it could have been so much worse.

Lorelai · 20/08/2013 16:53

Thanks, it was bachelor's low fat sweet Thai chill flavour.

Sirzy · 20/08/2013 16:54

Mia - i would be tempted to just go for what you fancy (to an extent!) and try to do as much walking as possible instead! Chicken is quite a good option I think so maybe some chicken and veg kebabs?

IKnewHouseworkWasDangerous · 20/08/2013 17:24

Bachelors, super low fat noodles. Sweet Thai Chilli flavour. Free on the extra easy plan.

Lorelai · 20/08/2013 17:33

Fab thanks!!

LegoAcupuncture · 20/08/2013 17:42

For a barbecue, I'd cook meat with very little fat, so anything whole iykwim, like chicken breast, steak and pork with the at trimmed off. have with salads. For breakfast try taking low fat cereal bars.

MissElodie · 20/08/2013 18:29

Hi all,

Well done Sirzy size 14 you must be well chuffed - I would be over the moon!

Mia I've had problems with MFP over last couple of days too. I've reinstalled the app on my phone and its been ok today.

My daily reminder - to not dread seeing people that I haven't seen for a while as I KNOW they will be looking at me thinking how much weight I've put on (as happened today Sad).

My DC had pizza for tea and I have resisted putting the left over bit in the bin rather than in my mouth!!

MissElodie · 20/08/2013 18:31

Ha Ha I wrote that last bit wrong - I mean I resisted putting it in my mouth and it DID go in the bin Smile

cq · 20/08/2013 18:35

Emergency help needed!! Just been to Tesco and bought stuff for a picnic tomorrow - we're meeting some old friends and doing a 5 mile walk with kids, dogs & picnic. What could possibly go wrong?!

Anyway, DD insisted on one of the lovely fresh white bakery loaves for the sandwiches. It's now in my kitchen, calling me, in a nice little harmony with the butter. Hmm

I've made such good choices this week, have bought myself a boxed salad for the picnic - how the chuffin hell am I going to resist this bastard bread? It's always been my Achilles heel, bread and butter. I can resist the processed wholemeal that we normally have, but this is driving me crazy.

Some quick avoidance tactics, please ladies!!

Sirzy · 20/08/2013 18:37

Can you have just a little bit just to put the idea to rest? Just less than normal - a bit of what you fancy sometimes is good.

Otherwise make the butties up ready with something you don't like that much? Or ask your DD to hide it from you!

Good luck!

Allinafankle · 20/08/2013 19:04

Thanks for all the welcomes everyone.

Struggling this evening - I'm so hungry! Had lunch at 12 and don't eat again until about half seven. This is when I tend to snack. I must resist!

cj fankle is indeed a scottish word. Meaning all tangled, confused. How apt!
