Today is a big day for me, a turning point! I've always been 'big' however have just been getting bigger and bigger. I want to lose 6 stone- starting from today.

Anyone else in the same boat who would like to swap inspiration and tips? Today I've planned to eat healthily and go for a nice long walk Grin

I'm ridiculously excited by it, I may explode before June Blush

LegoAcupuncture · 18/08/2013 19:42

That looks lovely English. Good incentive.

IKnewHouseworkWasDangerous · 18/08/2013 21:09

I so nearly had a massive slip. Headed to the cupboard looking for the double stuffed oreos, thinking I woukd start again tomorrow. Only to find dh has eaten/hidden them. Nothing else was worth the calories so I how have fat free greek style mulerlight.

TiredNursey · 18/08/2013 21:20

That's made me giggle. Grin Your diet sabotage was sabotaged by your DH!
I had a lovely bowl of raspberries with 0% fat greek yogurt (mixed in a tsp of splenda)
Luscious.

My only Syns today were 50g wholemeal bread extra to my heathy b, 2 gingernut biscuits and a tbl sesame oil for my stir fry dinner, half of which will be tomorrows lunch.

IsaacCox · 18/08/2013 21:25

Welcome Lorelai

That place looks amazing English. What a great incentive.

Along the same lines of English's reminder, this is where I'm going on New years day. There's not much to do other than stay around the pool all day so I have no choice other than to wear a swimming costume. I want to be able to wear it with confidence! and not cover up.

Well done for having a yogurt instead of something else IKnew

I swapped rice for cauliflower rice today. It was good. Just a cauliflower blitzed in the food processor then in the microwave for 2 minutes. Simple and low calorie.

SamanthaJones · 18/08/2013 21:26

Oh the butter idea is fantastic!

EnglishGirlApproximately · 18/08/2013 21:57

Isaac I really fancy Cape Verde Envy That hotel gets great feedback from customers (I'm a travel agent)

IsaacCox · 18/08/2013 22:03

Ooh that's good to know that it's got good feedback :)

LayMizzRarb · 18/08/2013 22:07

I go on holiday in 80 days, so really want to stay on the losing track before then as we're going for 5 weeks and Internet connections are fairly sparse, so will have to have really have developed good habits as I will not be able to check PP so easily.

Allinafankle · 18/08/2013 23:21

Hi all, long time lurker but had to join this thread. Do you mind?
Just turned 40 and since getting married 2 years ago have gradually been putting on weight after losing nearly three stone in nine months. I've been trying to get that lightbulb moment for months and have finally got it.
I tried on a gorgeous dress yesterday and when I looked in the changing room mirror I was horrified. I looked awful. When I took it off I looked at my body. Really looked. I looked heavily pregnant. So I went home and got the scales out. I weigh 15.6.
This has got to stop. Re-registered with MFP which really helped me last time and will dig out the wii fit. Have a sedentary job but will try walking part of the way home (big hill involved!).
Wish me luck - you're all doing fantastically!

LayMizzRarb · 19/08/2013 07:23

Good luck Allinafankle!

IsaacCox · 19/08/2013 08:01

LayMizz Envy- 5 weeks, where are you going?

Welcome and good luck Allinafankle :)

I'm not going to lie Grin, I hopped on the scales this morning just to see if I'm heading in the right direction with calorie counting and I'm 3lb down from last Wednesday :) hoping it'll at least sts from that on Weds.

Today's daily reminder is I don't want a muffin top cake shelf anymore. I want a flattish stomach that doesn't hang over my jeans.

Sirzy · 19/08/2013 08:09

Good luck allin.

Well done Isaac.

My microwave has died which means no porridge for breakfast :( but I have nothing else good in so will have to make do with an apple!

HenriettaPye · 19/08/2013 08:41

Morning all! Everyone's doing so well!

I've had a hectic weekend, a few slip ups but I'm back at it 100% today and hoping for a loss on Wednesday!

Welcome all new people Smile

Morning all - welcome Allinafankle. What's a fankle? I'm hoping it's a new Scottish word I can add to my collection. Just back from holiday up there and have a set of drinks mats with 'blether', 'scunner', 'crabbit' and 'glaikit' on them, with definitions - remind me of my very Scottish flatmate from Uni days, she was incomprehensible sometimes!!

Anyway, I weighed in on Sunday morning and it was Shock. But had a really good day yesterday and this morning the damage was down to just 1lb more than pre-holiday. SO hopefully if I'm really good I should have redeemed myself by Wednesday.

I have given up booze until my birthday in 2 weeks. Not that I drink hugely, but it weakens my resolve - and it's empty calories.

Going to run today and hopefully do a Gorilla workout too. DS is nagging me to start the Shred dvd that is still lying unwrapped. He doesn't quite get the pain involved in being fat and forty-six. I can run or I can shred, I really don't think I would survive both in one day Hmm

onetiredmummy · 19/08/2013 10:27

Well I've had a really shit week, my PC is broken & nothing I do will fix it so I'm typing on an ancient laptop. Have fallen off the wagon, weighed myself yesterday & had put on 1lb & then last night went to Bella Italia, had loads of wine & all my food choices went out of the window & I had a pizza with cheesecake after.

I'm so angry with myself today!

LegoAcupuncture · 19/08/2013 10:31

Happy Monday everyone.

Have woken up with a headache again. Have weighed in, and have lost an amazing 7lbs! Not that it is noticeable, but has given me a good boost for the coming week.

LegoAcupuncture · 19/08/2013 10:33

Los means my BMI is now under 40 so just obese instead of severely obese Grin

Welcome!

I have had knee trouble for the past 15 years and ended up in a vicious circle of exercise hurting so not excercising therefore putting more weight on and making my knee worse.

I started with just 10 minutes at a time on the wii selecting activities carefully and built it up so I can now do an hour. Since losing weight my knee has been so much better its great! I can wear heels again!

HenriettaPye · 19/08/2013 10:57

7lb lego??? Half a stone! Fantastic!

Welcome mie Smile

My daily reminder is that my best friend is getting married in 8 weeks and I want to look nice and enjoy the day without feeling self conscious

Oh onetiredmummy today is a new day. You cant change the past so no point dwelling on it just keep moving on. We will all have days and weeks like that.

Lego WOW. I dream of losing 7 lbs!

YellowCanary1 · 19/08/2013 11:33

Hi all,
Waves to newbies!
After a good nights sleep I'm feeling much happier! Weekend not good as had an indian on friday and we hosted a bbq yesterday. I tried to stay relatively good but went over calories both days. Had a sneaky weigh in this morning and have remained same so was quite pleased. Think I needed a bit of a break to be honest as been getting really down on myself. Feel a renewed commitment this morning which is nice.
Good luck everyone on having a good week!

MiaWallace · 19/08/2013 11:37

Morning everyone.

Welcome to the new people.

Lego 7lb is amazing. Well done

Onetiredmummy we all have our bad days. As long as our good days out number the bad we are moving in the right direction.

After my cheat day on Saturday I spent all day yesterday craving rubbish. I kept within my calorie allowance but my food choices were not the best. No more planned cheat days, it just wasn't worth it. Will have occasional cheat meals. It's my birthday in 2 weeks so will go out for dinner then and have some wine but plan to be good until then.

3 weeks today till I am back in school (I'm a primary school teacher). I plan to be half a stone lighter by then. That's my mini goal.

I've just collected my Ki Fit from the sorting office and I'm hoping it will give me the kick up the backside I need. Going to monitor my calories carefully and start shred DVD today.

I haven't been adding my exercise on MFP because I think it tends to be over generous about the calories used. Now I have my Ki Fit I can start logging my exercise accurately on MFP.

Really feel ready to step the diet/exercise up a gear. As my dd would say - It's on like Donkey Kong

Daily reminder: When I lose weight I can take dd to Alton Towers without the fear of the seats being too small.

IKnewHouseworkWasDangerous · 19/08/2013 12:13

Mia ypur daily reminder is brilliant that fear is scarier than the rides!
