buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 25/11/2013 09:48

happylass I keep reading that as "Gonna have a final push now so as to get myself a buffet for Xmas" Grin

Not brill but not disastrous weekend here - experimented with not logging, but think I need to continue doing so.

Hope everyone's well this chilly morning!

Lizzylou · 26/11/2013 16:23

Hola Chiefs,
Quick pop on as I have been doing some teaching experience the past two days, so no exercise for me. But food hasn't been too bad.
Oh and I am so so so sure that I want to be a teacher! It was fabulous.
Hope everyone is doing well Smile

A buffet sounds better than a buffer buzzy Grin
AF is in the building at the moment and I'm literally eating everything in sight Sad. Can I ask what you lovely ladies do in the same situation? Any advice or tips or do you just go with it and get back on the wagon once she's buggered off?

Zalen · 28/11/2013 09:18

Hi wondering if I can join you ladies, I got on the scale one morning about 2 weeks ago and registered 14st 13. Realised I was in serious danger of going back over 15st and bought a load of slimfast stuff that weekend. I've also now registered on mfp so doing a combination of slimfast and mfp calorie counting. That and a martial arts class 4 times a week has got me to a weigh in of 14st 3.2 this morning.

You ladies have done so fantastically well that I'm hoping by hanging around here I can benefit from your support and emulate your success.

happylass · 28/11/2013 20:03

Welcome Zalen and well done on your loss! I'm happylass14 on MFP if you want to add me? I'm not a good example to follow I'm afraid - definitely following the slow and steady approach, but every little helps right?!? Good luck with your weight loss journey.

Applesnotcakes · 30/11/2013 17:23

How's everyone doing? Hoping I've finally turned a corner after gaining and losing the same couple of pounds for weeks and weeks.

On weigh in Saturday I'm finally in the 13s. By a whisker. 13.13.6

I've been at 13.12 something since Monday but randalled a bit towards the end of the week.

I think I'm now officially not obese. Which i suppose is sort of exciting Hmm

Anyway hope all is going well with maintainers and losers. The season of temptation is upon us!

anotetofollowso · 01/12/2013 19:20

yay, you go Apples! 'Fraid it's not going so well at this end. I have had a week or two of dreadful eating, and slipped off MFP. I know I put on a about 2 pounds and then haven't dared weighed myself since. But I am determined not to give up all the gains I have fought so hard for. Tomorrow is another day...I vow to wake up, go to gym and start afresh.

Welcome to you Zalen, nice to meet a new chief.

RandallFloyd · 02/12/2013 13:44

That's fab Apples.
You should have been here for my 'I'M OVER WEIGHT!!!!' celebrations!
Well done you, it's a bloody good milestone to achieve. Xmas Smile

Big push for Christmas now chiefs.
Onwards and downwards.

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 02/12/2013 21:37

Apples. Whooooooop. Well done Chief. That is fantastic GrinGrinGrinGrin

I've had that milestone whilst Chiefing too. It's a big one I think because it inspires you to go a bit further.

I lost the Chiefs thread for a while there and defo lost the plot on food exercise had a big Christmas mashed up with Andrews Day on Saturday with my family. There was haggis, cream, booze, roast everything, cheese, Christmas pudding, gingerbread and cake. I don't dare weigh myself until Friday Shock

I am on a bit of a health kick now. I've got 12 weeks until my next half marathon, tried to run today, managed 1 mile before I had to walk. Managed 6km before I was worried about sharting. I need to train chiefs! My bowels and my shins have been off the Chief bandwagon too longWink though I suspect my shins are damaged by my DH and DB who we're trying vair hard to penetrate my new batman style hockey shin pads with various implements whilst I wore them and a cloak of booze to prove my super hero status and general invincibility.

Will go and RTFT now. Grin

Applesnotcakes · 03/12/2013 13:01

thanks Anote, Tea and Randall - pats on the back feel very nice! And yes, it is quite inspiring to have turned the corner - its even making me a bit irritated that Christmas is coming with all its attendant eating and drinking. Every week now seems to have multiple pub/restaurant/dinner events when surely people know I just want to sit at home logging thin things onto MFP.

Well, I say that, but seem to throw myself into it all quite well.

Desperately trying to cope with Auntie Flo in the building - nobody had any good ideas to help happylass when she was round hers, so I guess you just have to stick it out. I'm trying to satisfy my desire to eat with ryvitas from the pack on my desk, rather than via the millionaire shortbread the thin young things keep buying for the office. But its a bloody difficult choice - I completely love millionaires shortbread.

Am going to head out for a bit of a walk to burn off some of the damage.

And now we have Tea coming over all 12 weeks to go for her masochistic running along with Lizzy's final push for Christmas - hows it going Lizzy?? - hopefully we can all keep on the downwards track.

PS a roast followed by gingerbread sounds seriously lush.

Lizzylou · 04/12/2013 19:57

Yeah for Apples!
And Tea, you will get back to your gazelle running best.
I have been a bit busy. Done 2 School Experience days last week and have now secured a 2 day per week voluntary placement in a school nearby until July. First day today. Was fabulousGrin
Still gymming, not being tooo bad on the eating front but have other stuff to sort too. Dh is very busy at work and not here as much, so just a bit knackered!
How us everyone?

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 04/12/2013 21:43

Apples just take a little sabbatical for three weeks if you need to. You're in it for the long haul so best to enjoy opportunities and target maintaining rather than get grumpy about it.

Lizzy that sounds perfect. I'm so very impressed with what you're doing. And so pleased the early signs are good. Do you start your PGCE in September? I can't remember if it was secondary or primary you were going for. Sorry.

I have a probably broken another toe Grin I'm just dead pleased I haven't forgotten how to run I don't actually care that I'm going to loose a couple of weeks training GrinGrinGrinGrin so I shall be mainly peaing on me foot and using drugs to keep the swelling down.

Lizzylou · 04/12/2013 21:46

Secondary Tea, and how?!
You are v accident prone! Perhaps it us because you are less padded!
Yep, take December as a break I say Grin

Dear god chiefs what has happened to jeans since last I dared try on a pair??????

I was thrilled to discover that despite scoffing for England I haven't put on much weight and so ran out to buy some clothes for what are the summer holidays here. Some background: I have not bought clothes for a vairy vairy long time as I was a)skint and b)fat. And then my friends essentially staged an intervention around my appearance: after meaningful hints and pointed remarks they graduated to 'YOU"RE A DISGRACE' (in the nicest possible way - they are wonderful friends).

So I took the hint and the cash and was thrilled to discover that clothes shopping is a whole lot more fun at 69 kg than 76kg. I threw pants, t-shirts and even a button up shirt into my basket feeling very pleased with myself. But today I went to buy jeans. Why did none of you warn me what 'low rise' means???? I had not so much a muffin top as a lava eruption over the top of the jeans...and I am not tall, so there was nothing visible between the top of the jeans and the bottom of my bra except rolls and rolls and rolls of fat. Randall I thought of your jeans, though I wasn't yet a chief so can only guess at your experience.

Eventually I found almost the only pair in the department store that comes sort of over my belly button and I brought them home. I am now wearing them to see if they give. But I haven't felt this since I was 14, buying jeans that are too tight. I can't breath, feel as though I have rubber bands around my thighs and we wont even talk about the vice-like clamp about my lady bits.

SO ... tell me, oh wise and slim ones: are these jeans just way too tight (I actually bought them in a bigger size than my other pants) or is this just the way of all jeans from now on? What happened to feminist advances?? What happened to elegant and comfy?? Are women just expected to walk around in body crippling discomfort ?? And am I insane to buy jeans that wrap so tightly around my thunder thighs? And..WHAT"S THE ALTERNATIVE????

I need help Chiefs.

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 05/12/2013 22:03

Secondary. Oh my lordie, lord. Brilliant. Really do fancy a bit of that. Grin though from what DS1 & DS2 teachers in the secondary hood are well hard. DS2 came back with a new respect for his drama teacher 'it was so cool, miss stuck out her arm, put him in a headlock and knelt on his back, and she's smaller than you.' I confess I want those skills and I will be subtly, and vair politely, asking her about how I can do that at parents evening Wink

I may have ... erm .... dropped an oversized vegetable on it.

Anote I still haven't invested in jeans .... my thighs are just too wide and my gluts too big erm, er ... powerful? I buy skirts, leggings, frocks, tight Capri pants, frocks but jeans. Frankly, they can fuck right off!!!

happylass · 07/12/2013 12:59

Lizzie I teach secondary so if there's anything you need to know just shout. Although I'm pleased to report that in 12 years I've never had to put anyone in a headlock Shock
I'm afraid I don't have any advice on the jeans front either anote. I've been buying the same style from Topshop for some time so that I don't have to face the horror of trying other types on. The fact that I'm 5"10 just adds to the misery!!

Applesnotcakes · 08/12/2013 19:21

Respect to all the teachers/ would be teachers. Great job. Preferably without headlocks though.

Am pleased to report a 1.5 pound loss this week. Complete miracle really given I drank my not insignificant weight in alcohol at work Xmas do on Friday. Red wine(lots), white wine(some), champagne cocktails x 2, beer and jäger bombs Blush. Both in quantity. Haven't even really told MFP the true extent of the Randalling, although was reassured at its familiarity with jägerbombs.

Was truly shameful, but a lot of fun. Felt horrendous yesterday but recovered today to go for an 8 mile walk in recompense.

Am determined to keep in the 13s so this week will aim for some low cal days to allow for the social events on the way. But hopefully nothing else will be quite as bad as Friday.

Have a good week chiefs. Presents all sorted?

Zalen · 09/12/2013 10:55

anote - the last time I bought jeans was a couple of years ago, not exactly glamorous but I got a couple of pairs from Sainsburys and a pair from ASDA and they come up to my waist and are really comfortable as they need to be since I basically live in jeans. Of course given that I've gained over 1.5 st since I bought them the muffin top at present is not a pretty sight but it's reducing slowly.

Work Christmas party last Wednesday, I think that's what's known in these parts as Randalling? Then for some reason I had to have a full English fry-up for breakfast on Friday including 4 sausages, 3 rashers of bacon, 3 fried eggs, 2 slices of black pudding and some mushrooms. That was my 1200 calories for the day gone. I tried to behave for the rest of the day but ended up scoffing 4 vegetable samosa's in the evening as I was really hungry.

Back on the wagon this weekend and weighed in at 13st 13.4 this morning so not too bad at all, especially given the slip-ups.

happylass · 14/12/2013 16:31

Calls out . No posting since Monday?!? Where is everyone? Just came on to shout about the fact that I lost 2lbs this morning even though 1lb of that was what I put on last week and I've hit the 10lb loss mark - double figures woohoo!! Doesn't seem a lot in 3.5 months I know but I've not been doing anything other than trying to stick to my rather generous calorie limit on MFP. Tried my wedding dress on this morning for the first time too and it needs to be taken in quite a bit Grin
Enough about me though, how is everyone else? All caught up in the run up to Christmas??

Applesnotcakes · 15/12/2013 15:20

Hellooooo Happylass! 2 lb loss here too. Well done us! And congrats on wedding dress adjustment requirement.
Not entirely Christmas ready over here. My mother seems to have delegated a lot of shopping to me, as I'm ' in London and its easier for you'. Despite full time job, family etc. Clearly they don't have shops her way. Or t'interweb.
But I'm getting through it and starting to feel vaguely excited. Teenage DD tries to play it cool but loves it really.

Food wise this week has a fair amount of socialising so will see how that goes. Have been on a bit of a roll recently with the losing - it seems my body doesn't like to lose anything for a while and then gets the idea that this is how its going to be and gives in and lets me lose weight for a few weeks, then it will stop again for a bit. So overall it's slow but its downwards. Just needs patience and I'm not expecting too much to happen now until jan. if I can stay within a few pounds of where I am that will be a good result. And then crack on again in the new year.

Hope everyone is doing well and feeling good. Xmas Smile

RandallFloyd · 25/12/2013 18:39

Merry Christmas chiefs!

Hope you're all having a good one. Xmas Smile

Lizzylou · 02/01/2014 09:08

Hope everyone of you lovelies had a fabulous Festive season, am going to be back on it now in 2014.
I appear to have spent most of December in a wine and chocolate, cheese and pate fog Blush

But, have joined a challenge to burn 100,000 calories through exercise in 2014 and will do a triathlon in September, a flat one which is regarded as easiest Grin
We also booked a break during Whitsun (sp) half term to Malta.
So I need to be getting going.

Anyone in?

OP posts:
Applesnotcakes · 03/01/2014 08:09

My god that's a challenge. Well done you and good luck. But no. I'm not in. MFP with renewed vigour, mindful eating, weekly view on calories, lots of walking, yes to all those. A trillion calories through exercise. Not so much.

But tres, tres impressed.

happylass · 03/01/2014 12:33

Happy New Year Chiefs. Been absent from MFP over the festive period but decided to do the dreaded weigh in tomorrow ready to start back on Monday. Hopefully haven't undone too much of my hard work. Only 7 months until my wedding so need to get back on it. Good luck to everyone for reaching their targets this year.

happylass · 03/01/2014 15:04

Btw Lizzie where did you join the 100,000 calories challenge?
