Hola.
Thought we needed a new thread Grin
Last day at work for me Grin Grin Grin

Well done Bssh on only gaining 1lb holiday weight, am hoping to emulate this!

OP posts:
Applesnotcakes · 19/11/2013 20:35

Commiserations on your injury Bssh. Hope it gets better soon.

Lizzy I am in. I have seen your MFP diary and Sonic has nothing on you. I really need a bit of a push to shift a few pounds before Christmas so lets do it.

Lots of walking and cutting out the snacking for me. Plus some low cal days. I don't seem to be able to fast but days at under 1000 are doable so I shall do 2 or 3 a week.

Lizzylou · 19/11/2013 20:50

Apples, don't lose heart, you can do this, you really can.
My old pe teachers would be peeing their pants at the amount of exercise I do now. I was such a sloth.

OP posts:
Applesnotcakes · 19/11/2013 21:14

Grin. Here's to giving PE teachers something to put in their nicotine free pipes and smoke.

SylviaDaisyPouncer · 19/11/2013 21:31

lizzy that's a good point, I am an expert on the first half of the shred Smile

Seeing as I like lists (?!?) and need motivation I will re do all my measurements too, kind of a little experiment to see the actual results of a full round of the shred.

buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 20/11/2013 07:30

Ow to sore back. Ow to pulled pelvic area (wtaf?! That sounds sore!) Seriously, you have to just let it rest with injuries - it's so frustrating when you're on an exercise jag though. Apples you don't mess about with backs, do you hear me? [peering sternly emoticon] I didn't get on with the Shred, either - found it not too bad to do, but it wrecked my knees afterwards to the point that I could barely walk for a fortnight after the first time I did it (never did do it again, it went to the chazza shop after that).

I'm still about 14 8/9 too Apples so will join you and Lizzy. Realistically I always put on a bit over Xmas, so would like to have dropped a bit. I'm being very gentle with myself at the moment, though, so won't be fasting and may up my calorie allowance to reflect my TDEE more closely - Scooby suggested 2100 should shift the pounds, but I don't always get to do the 3 hours of exercise I specified and I think sometimes I under calculate on takeaways, so 1700 or 1800 probably better. Am also trying not to snack [eyes peanut butter jar].

Lizzy your diaries are an example to us all - surely no room for improvement there?!?

buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 20/11/2013 07:34

Oh and SDP too! SDP my DD (2.11) has some sort of bladder issue ATM too - and we have also been prescribed the aniseed antibiotics [weep] I have to actually hold DD down and force her to take them Sad and she spits them out straight away. I mean, I get they can't make them in a range of flavours, BUT THEN WHY PICK ANISEED??

Lizzylou · 20/11/2013 07:57

Yes, ouch Bssh!
Buzzy, you know the days you don't see a diary from me? Well, yeah, they are the baaad days. My 80/20 has been more 50/50 recently Blush
I think you may do well upping your cals Buzzy, we all have a plan!
Am I alone in loving aniseed? I think boys have had that medicine and I used to love licking the spoon Blush
SDP wish I had done some lists, may do some measuring today.
Hope everyone has a fab day, school run then gym for me.
Bssh, I am thinking of getting weights and a bench for Christmas, have you any recommendations?

OP posts:
BsshBossh · 20/11/2013 09:31

Lizzy I only have dumbbells but I highly recommend anything by York. this set is good as you can buy and add on extra discs as necessary. You should also buy a barbell with attachable discs if you're getting a bench with a rack on it.

I haven't been able to do any weights in a month because I overdid it . Need to lay off them for another week or so and then just do light weights for a month before slowly building up . I seem to have strained my inner pelvic floor. Keep forgeting I'm a mother in my 40s so that region is already a little compromised through childbirth and age. I was weight training like a 20 year old! Lesson learned.

RandallFloyd · 20/11/2013 10:17

Strained inner pelvic floor' Shock dear lord.
I definitely think laying off exercise for a hike is a good idea!

Fab to hear all you newly re-energised chiefs. Huzzah for a big push for Christmas!

As for me, after a rather 'indulgent' week two fast days have managed to keep the maintenance on track. I'm still at my lowest weight somehow Confused anyway, certainly not complaining!

I may join you for a small pre-Christmas push as I don't want to have to be watching the scales over the Christmas break. I spent last Christmas depressed to shit about my weight so that last thing I want to do this year is to obsess about it and deprive myself. I've got 2 weeks off so I want to relax and enjoy it comfortable in the knowledge that I have a buffer plus I am more than confident of correcting any gains pretty quickly.
(Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd be able to say that 12 months ago.)

You go chiefs, you all rock so very hard Thanks

anotetofollowso · 20/11/2013 12:16

Hello dear Chiefs, I have missed you all very much. I just did a quick catch-up of what I've missed.

Sorry to be so absent. I've had a family visit and much as I love and adore the family members the visit was intense and left me shaken up (too long to tell the whole messy story). Plus I was advised to let my knee heal before doing any more exercise and that, more than anything, has meant that my eating has gone to hell. I've put on a bit (about 2 pounds I think) which is not that much but I feel heffalumpus. It's funny isn't it how sometimes the scale does not correlate with the way one feels. I've just lost that whole nice, tight, trim and in control feeling. And I've simply stopped logging on MFP :(

Anyway, after some physio the knee is better so am doing cautious exercise. But I really commiserate Bssh and Apples. It's so frustrating when you are raring to go and your body simply wont cooperate. I suppose we just have to hang in and be creative about finding other forms of exercise. Thank goodness I've got you Chiefs to help me hang in!

With regards to how we all put the weight on ... I'm also in awe of what you've faced and dealt with Chiefs. There does seem to be a common theme. We all seem to attack ourselves with weight when things are hard and horrible. No new insight I suppose but very helpful to read all your stories and to be reminded of it.

It's great to be back. I shall start logging properly tomorrow.

Onwards and downwards.

Dinkydoos · 20/11/2013 14:58

Hello lovelies!
Been missing in action so have just had to catch up. Hello to newbies!
apples sorry to hear your visit was a bit stressful, families are funny things actually. Much as I adore all mine, they do manage to get me a bit stressed actually especially my mum
Impressed with idea about Christmas push, but DP already saying I am getting a bit obsessed... Am 10.3 at 5 ft 7 but fairly norky build. So I think could lose more, but tbh am fairly happy where I am. Especially seeing as at my advanced age of 45 the face starts looking a bit haggard or so I like to persuade myself as I scoff cheese! Sill fasting twice weekly but def making up for it on other days so not really losing anymore.
Me. Me. Me. Just re read my post, how much can I bang on about myself!
Shushhhhhhhhh already!

Applesnotcakes · 20/11/2013 16:22

lovely to have a bit of increased thread activity - Lizzy's rallying call clearly strikes a chord although the woman's clearly very good at rallying all by herself - perhaps its the opposite of Randalling? I know where I am on the spectrum.

My pre Christmas push started with a bacon sandwich - Blush - offered by a client at a 8am meeting in Slough. Impossible to say no - and bloody lovely.

RandallFloyd · 20/11/2013 16:59

Oh, Lizzying is most definitely the antithesis of Randalling.
She makes me look like a right lardy old, cheese-eating sloth!

(Although she can rock some fair old Randalling skillz when the need arises. Wink)

RandallFloyd · 20/11/2013 17:18

Dinky, you sound great.

I'm pretty much the same height as you (5'8") and 10 stone was my ultimate goal, which I hit at the end of August. In all honestly I was completely happy at that weight, the only reason I've dropped the extra 8lb is due to finding my feet at maintaining, and because I felt like I needed the 'security' of having a little cheese room buffer just in case.

Also bear in mind that the 8lb has come off over the course of 3 months so very, very gradual and certainly not with any real effort. The only reason I've logged it is so I don't feel tempted to use it as an excuse to put it back on iyswim. I fluctuate by a couple of pound quite regularly but only ever log if I lose then that new low becomes my new maintenance benchmark, if that makes any sense. Basically as long as I don't go over 135lbs I'm happy. (I like to see those last 5lbs as my only-in-emergencies buffer!)

And I certainly don't have the norkage excuse. I have barely any boobs and no arse whatsoever! Well jel Envy

Lizzylou · 20/11/2013 18:01

Dinky, you are doing wonderfully!
Anote, a bacon sarnie is the only way to cope with Slough Wink , close family member lived there.
Lizzying is very much all or nowt. I do always keep up my exercise but my diet and alcohol intake ebbs and flows like a mofo,
Randall, you are like totes skinny! so light!Shock
I am large of bust, though 2 cup sizes smaller since chiefing and fairly rotund of ass. Squats are helping to perk it up. My thighs and my bingo wings are my nemesis though.
I am of peasant build, big wide feet, large ribcage, wide hips, big hands. I long to be dainty but at 5ft9" best I can hope for is to not look like a transvestite (my very real fear about my wedding day).

OP posts:
RandallFloyd · 20/11/2013 18:07

I'm all limbs. Gangly if you will.
But with wide hips, wide shoulders and big man hands.

Oh, and my sloth-like demeanour means that I have no muscle tone whatsoever.

#wellfit.

(Proper jel of your pert ass)

BsshBossh · 20/11/2013 19:46

God I'm a midget compared to you lot: 5 ft 4 and a half (very important, that half).

Applesnotcakes · 20/11/2013 20:52

Grin Grin at Lizzy and transvestite fears. No chance, lovely.
Reminds me of my friend who wanted a made to measure impactful dress for her 40Th and after putting her measurements in online was directed to a Thai site for lady boys.

She looked completely fantastic. If you ever need something involving a lot of sequins and the ability to cope with large norks that's where you go. Just saying.

anotetofollowso · 20/11/2013 21:17

I barely squeak 5.3 >. With vast boobs (don't get me started on the H bloody H yes HHHHHH cup again). It means that I look fat even when I'm not, and when I am ....people have to leave the room for me to turn round.

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 20/11/2013 22:11

I am reading Chief dudes. You're all doing so well. My computer is poorly and gone off to see a nice Apple man so I'm on me phone and my advancing age means I'll buggered if I can remember who said what so finding it hard to respond.

I will just say alls pretty standard here .... fasting once a week, playing hockey twice, going to gym and walking to and from work, still maintaining. Oh. I pissed myself on Saturday when lunging, sprinting, changing direction and stopping. Think it was too much information overload for my tiny brain . So no change there.

Hell. Lizzie you may have inspired me! I think I might do two fast days every other week between now and Christmas. I probably need to get back on MFP too as whilst I've maintained on weight I am getting plump around the tummy! And I need to get running again.

SylviaDaisyPouncer · 20/11/2013 22:58

I'm here and will catch up with missed posts tomorrow. Didn't want anyone to think I had jibbed out on my first day of pre Christmas blitzing!

Had a fun evening at hospital with ds after a basketball injury at school. He is okay, sprained hand but as its his left (and he is right handed), he will not be missing any school. Don't think he is impressed as I still made him do his homework. No sympathy here, otherwise he will milk it for weeks!

Shredded and started a 30 day abs challenge. I know it's not likely I will find any abs in 30 days but hoping there will be the merest hint of them. Didn't do my measurements, will do that Friday.

buzzy I resorted to a syringe to give dd her medicine. Verging on the cruel side but giving her a spoonful was pointless. Trying to catch her before giving her the medicine was another story....

Good to see lots of us checking in. Will catch up tomorrow after work.

Lizzylou · 21/11/2013 17:35

Have been Christmas shopping today, was hellish.
Did manage some clothes for me though. Though I am intrigued about Apple's Thai lady boy site, These puppies need all the support they can get!

So no exercise Shock

Except of my debit card.

OP posts:
BsshBossh · 22/11/2013 07:19

Friday weigh-in. 0.4 lbs down. Snail's pace now I'm so close to goal. Will celebrate now with 3 non-fast days Grin.

Applesnotcakes · 22/11/2013 13:36

well done Bssh - its amazing it just keeps coming off no matter how little

i'm not entirely on the straight and narrow. Had client drinks thing last night when i may have drunk a bottle of truly terrible wine. i havent been quite honest with MFP about the quantities - and it really was rough wine. So now have a headache and had to send an underling valued team member out for sweet stuff to help cope.

tomorrow is weighday but i think i'll be looking at STS overall so next week i'll need to channel Bssh's willpower and Lizzy's energy to properly make the pre Christmas effort .

happylass · 23/11/2013 09:08

Morning Chiefs. Well done Bsssh,a loss is a loss! My scales only measure whole pounds so thinking I maybe need a more accurate set, any recommendations? Had a crazy busy week in work so diet has been shocking but no gain at weigh in this morning thank goodness. Gonna have a final push now to get myself a buffer for Xmas. Will have to wait until Tuesday though as I've got a long weekend off work filled with a party, night away and Christmas Market. Suspect there may be a touch of Randalling going on ??. Have a good one all.
