Hola.
Thought we needed a new thread Grin
Last day at work for me Grin Grin Grin

Well done Bssh on only gaining 1lb holiday weight, am hoping to emulate this!

You lot are a bunch of talkative souls who fill this thread up faster than I can access a pc with a keyboard (bit old school, me...can't be doing with these touch screens for typing). This means that I am no doubt going to miss out on commenting on a whole load of stuff, but I did see some fab losses on MFP so well done Bssh and tits.

Shame about the back apples - hope it eases soon.

Couple of NSV round here - completed the C25k this week and have just been measured for a new bra as I can tell that's where I've lost some of the weight. I've gone from a 38E to a 34DD which probably isn't a NSV after all as I now seem to be having the old 'tennis balls at the bottom of a floppy sack' type of chest. Ho hum...there won't be any more children here either unfortunately (I would have loved a little army of DCs but started a bit too late in life and it turns out I'm a bit rubbish at childbirth) so there won't be any more bf or the like to perk them up.

Anyway I have just scoffed a palmier from M&S as they are lush and I haven't had one for ages (and obviously I needed one on the back of eating a whole bag of Milk Bottle sweets) and then I have a big girls' night out planned for tomorrow night so I just have to hope that I don't do too much damage. really wanted to get to goal weight on Monday as I am then taking the DDs to my parents in Chester next week and there is no way on this earth that I will be able to eat low-calorie whilst I'm there as my mother doesn't know the meaning of it....

Applesnotcakes · 19/10/2013 16:44

Well done Carikube on the NSV. Bra size reduction is interesting as I think it shows how much you can change your basic shape. Bssh's amazing pre and post photos show what can be done. I used to think you are what you are - a basic kind of shape that you could be a fatter or thinner version of but not really change. I'm 5ft 8, 'big boned' and therefore 'I'll never be a size 10'

I now think that's rubbish and its just about what you chose to do. Getting to size 10 would be a lot of work for me but I could choose to do it. You can change your fundamental shape. Feels quite a big thought to me. Old news to all you success stories I know!

Hope everyone's weekends are going well and you're recovering from your leaving do Lizzy. Any tears involved? Of the I love you all 3 am type. Usually works for me

My back is recovering. Osteo has helped but said no exercise fr a week Sad. It's put me off track a bit mentally and I just had a packet of crisps and 2 chocolate digestives which I just wasn't even thinking about before. Dinner out tonight but then must get back in the zone food wise even if I can't exercise.

happylass · 20/10/2013 10:29

Morning Chiefs. Had a crazy busy week so just tried to quickly catch up on the thread for the last few days. Well done to all of those wh have had losses and well done on all the Randalling too!
Randall put me down for an autographed copy of the book as soon as it becomes available please!
Seem to have hit a brick wall in terms of motivation this week. Things have been so busy I'm just eating whatever's available. Still logging everything on MFP though whilst I wait for the next wave of enthusiasm to hit. Lost 7lbs fairly easily then put one back on last week before staying the same this week. Off work next week though so will try harder then I promise! I too pulled a muscle doing a kettlebell workout at home (Apple i feel your pain, though in my thigh) which hasn't helped things! Just about recovered now though so off for a walk to earn some extra calories for lunch Smile
Have a good Sunday all.

BsshBossh · 20/10/2013 20:44

Just completed my week's logging on MFP. I haven't logged in months but got back into it since resuming 5:2 after the long school summer holiday and as I love stats/numbers/graphs it's made for such interesting reading. Here's my week in calories:
Mon: 198
Tue: 1733
Wed: 1707
Thu: 149
Fri: 2700
Sat: 2838
Sun: 2581
With a TDEE of 2000 to maintain current weight, my average daily calorie intake is 1700 this week = daily 15% reduction of TDEE calories. This is similar to previous weeks too. Seeing stats like these certainly obliterates any guilt I might feel about my indulgent weekend eating. It all balances out.

Titsalinabumsquash · 20/10/2013 20:56

Evening Chiefs Smile

I've had a somewhat Randlesque weekend Blush but I have discovered that my stomach has shrunk! I've been getting full really quickly so that's good, I'm also a lot more comfortable in my jeans that hate me so also good news.

I will be back on track from tomorrow though. Pinkie promise Smile

Titsalinabumsquash · 21/10/2013 09:59

Fast day today!

I've put on my very lo cal curry for dinner so I can still have a couple of boiled eggs (no soldiers) for breakfast.

buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 21/10/2013 10:25

Bssh that's so interesting. I've been following your diaries this week on MFP and was about to ask you to post your TDEE so I could do the same sum as you just did!

Thanks to a terrible, out of control few days at the beginning of the week I have averaged 2107 cals/day this week. That comes down to a much better 1,799 for Thursday-Sunday so I guess the moral for me is to try and keep a lid on it at the start of the week!

Although I haven't lost any weight for a few weeks, DH days it looks as though I've lost a fair bit. I've been trying to run more and managed 6k on Saturday with only 3x 1 minute walking breaks. I know this will be laughable to all you proper runners, but it's a huge achievement for me! I can't imagine ever not needing the walk breaks though. Also have been trying hard at swimming; the guy I swim with does sub 2h30 triathlons so it's quite a lot of pressure trying to keep up with him so I don't

Well done on the jeans Tits that's great. I have a Motivational Skirt which I can't do up at the moment but plan to!

Apples and happy hope your muscle pulls are getting better.

Well done on the NSVs and hope your girls' night out was as Randallesque as Randallesque can be carikube Grin

BsshBossh · 21/10/2013 10:36

buzzy do you know your TDEE (I calculated mine on the Scooby site)?

BsshBossh · 21/10/2013 10:38

Randall how are the piles?

RandallPinkFloyd · 21/10/2013 10:48

Yikes, far too much to catch up on. I've actually had a busy week for a change, and it was fab! I managed to log on MFP but not much time for anything else. Soz chiefs.

Anyway, sounds like everyone is doing great, I've had a skim and can see lots of little victories all over the shop. Soz about the injuries (told you exercise was bad for you) and about the errant husbands.

I'm fasting today and tomorrow in a vain attempt to recompense for a week of pretty much constant Randalling. Blush

If I can make it work I'll build up the courage to post a before & after shot, mainly because Apples and I seem to be of the same shape and mindset. I too am 5'8" and big boned so back at the beginning I just presumed that I'd always be a size 14 even if I did manage to meet my (seemingly impossible) goal. Purely because I have very wide hips and broad shoulders.

Turns out it's not true at all. I'm a size 8 on top (rubbish tits) and 10 on the bottom (wide hips but absolutely no arse) so it really can be done. Who knew?!

Anyway, well done to everyone. Onwards and downwards chiefs Smile

RandallPinkFloyd · 21/10/2013 10:51

Well. Funny you should ask that Bssh.

Why did not one of you shower of bastards feel the need to tell me that the cream goes up the arse? Actually up. I mean seriously, that's some pretty pertinent information right there.

Lizzylou · 21/10/2013 10:59

Ugh. I am ill. Started off feeling very hot last night, then kept sneezing, then the achey glands started. Have had no sleep and have a million things to do. Had a weekend of randalling, good night Friday that has a hazy ending Blush
So no exercise for me today, fortunately have no appetite but we are away this weekend and will have no chance to exercise really.
Well done on running 6k Buzzy, I haven't ran for ages Blush

MonkeyGoneToHeaven · 21/10/2013 11:05

Morning Chiefs. Hope you all had a good weekend. Everything went out of the window, eating-wise, for me - DH and I went to London and it was a flurry of duck breasts, red wine, danish pastries, baked cheese, noodles, bacon and cocktails. There's no way I can MFP that lot and I have some serious making up to do this week. On top of that my scales have broken (hopefully not due to weight gain!) so I don't know how much weight I've put on.

I felt huge in London. Where I live, size 16 is pretty normal but I seemed to be the fattest person in the pub/restaurant/tube carriage all the time.

Ah well. Today is a new day, and all that...

buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 21/10/2013 11:31

Bssh I put in 1-3 hours of light exercise (I walk a lot, run 1x week and swim strenuously 2x/week so a bit more than that, but not enough to warrant 5-6 hours a week of strenuous exercise) and that site reckons 2633 to maintain weight and 2100 to lose weight Hmm

Can that be right? I know you use Scooby so what was your experience?

I suspect another "thing" for me is the amount of carbs/sugar I eat. I'm often 2 or 3 times over the MFP goal, sometimes 5x Blush I'm veggie and hate eggs, so suspect I may not be getting enough high-quality protein (though I do eat lots of beans, cottage cheese and plain/flavoured yogurt).

buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 21/10/2013 11:33

Football-style chanting Does she put it, does she pu-ut it, does she put it up the aaaaaarse? Does she pu-ut i-it up the arse?

RandallPinkFloyd · 21/10/2013 11:59
Angry
buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 21/10/2013 12:23

Just wait till you next fart Randall , your face will be more like Shock Shock Shock

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 21/10/2013 12:36

Oh did I not mention the up the arse thing?

Soz about the plastic tube up yer arse Chief.

BsshBossh · 21/10/2013 13:16

Oh no Randall!

buzzy I've always just followed Scooby's recommendations exactly and it's (obviously) worked for me since I started early last year. And I never bother about carb/sugar/protein ratios - just eat what I want. I don't trust that users who contribute to the database accurately input all the nutrition (I certainly don't corrrectly input sugar or carbs etc when I add a recipe or meal, just the calories).

buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 21/10/2013 13:42

You are certainly a poster girl for Scooby, Bssh and it's worked wonders for you. so perhaps 2100 cals is not so outrageous for me! It seems like loads though so I wonder if I've just been logging inconsistently and eating more than I realise on the days and weeks where I haven't MFPd?

At what weight did you start using the Scooby site? Just wondering whether it might be less accurate at higher weights like mine (am 14st 5). Sadly, I think the explanation is probably more that I don't log enough and eat more than I think when I don't Blush

BsshBossh · 21/10/2013 14:51

I was 15 stones at 5ft 4.5 and 42 years old :) But if you've been dieting all your life then your metabolism may be weakened and not be able to cope with your full TDEE. My metabolism has always been very strong (have never dieted much) so my body metabolises well at high calories (ie my TDEE). It's all trial and error really, this dieting malarkey. You could just try bumping up your calories slowly if you suspect eating too little is a problem.

BsshBossh · 21/10/2013 15:17

Lizzy hope you feel better soon. I'm on the verge of something. Have just squaffed paracetemol so it could go either way... I swear by an Indian remedy (always seems to knock colds on the head if you have at the first sign of it): 1 tsp of honey, half tsp turmeric powder, juice of half a lemon. Works for my 5 yo too.

buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 21/10/2013 16:55

You could combine it with the Scottish remedy of a large whisky, a tsp of sugar and the juice of half a lemon, topped up with boiling water Lizzy - although Bssh's sounds healthier! Hope you feel better soon.

Lizzy how did your leaving do go?

Bssh it's entirely possible I wrecked my metabolism in my teens with a period of living off 320 cals a day Hmm and having the occasional "binge" Hmm where I went nuts and had a 1,500 cal day Hmm Hmm Hmm . Saying that, I've never been one of those people who puts on weight just by looking at a cake, I'm more your classic greedy fecker Wink

One thing that is really striking about both your and Randall's diaries is that neither of you are strangers to a big old feasty day, but you don't seem to overeat mindlessly either IYSWIM? It's all calibrated and accounted for and that's how you balance out. It's the day in day out overeating that piles on the pounds.

BsshBossh · 21/10/2013 17:08

I like the sound of the whisky remedy buzzy, will try that tomorrow for myself.

anotetofollowso · 21/10/2013 17:09

HELLO Chiefs. I've missed you all. I will catch up properly but a quick skim reveals that Randall's um, healing well ... 'shower of bastards' made my day Randall and should go into the MN hall of fame for a great turn of phrase.

I know it's MOnday but I would like to record that my weight was unchanged on Friday at 70.2kg. I'll settle for maintaining at the moment, as I seem to be doing only the glory part of the Randalling experience, without any of the sackcloth and ashes that are supposed to follow. Still, it's been instructive to see that I could get away with two days of guzzling (stressed, and DSD arrived to visit with vast amounts of chocolate and nougat) and still stay where I was. I'll set my sets higher no make that lower for these next weeks.

Well done all of you on your victories. It's nice to be back.
